2014 was a life-changing year for ABC’s David Muir as he realized his boyhood dream of anchoring the evening news. On Labor Day, Muir succeeded Diane Sawyer as the anchor of ABC’s “World News Tonight” after years as the evening news’ weekend anchor and correspondent for the network, though even that couldn’t keep him behind a desk.
Muir took a moment at year-end to talk with TheWrap about how no anchor desk will ever tame the natural roving reporter, and take a look back at his momentous year at ABC.

Arrow has cast a new Count Vertigo. TVGuide reports that Peter Stormare has been cast as Werner Zytle, who takes over the Count Vertigo name.
I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the idea of Lifetime’s The Lottery. At least, I’ve been trying to imagine how a drama about a dark future for humanity would work on Lifetime. Here’s the first trailer for the series:
This season, the winner of So You Think You Can Dance will win a role on the Broadway revival of On the Town — provided the show is running when there’s an opening in the cast.
Fringe alum Georgina Haig has been picked to play Elsa in Once Upon a Time‘s Frozen Storyline.
Morning After observes that seeing Tori Spelling‘s Mystery Girls so soon after her raw reality show True Tori finished makes her the real life version of The Combeback.

On "The Dr. Oz Show" Wednesday (Sept. 14), Dr. Mehmet Oz did a segment with a New Jersey lab that found what Oz claims are "troubling" levels of arsenic in many brands of apple juice.
The Fda has responded with its own tests that it says show no such thing. Their statement reads, "There is no evidence of any public health risk from drinking these juices. And Fda has been testing them for years."
Thursday (Sept. 15), Dr. Oz's med school classmate Dr. Richard Besser, a previous acting head of the Cdc, was on "Good Morning America" saying Oz's report was the equivalent of yelling "fire" in a movie theater. Video below.
What the Fda maintains Dr. Oz failed to do was distinguish between the two forms of arsenic - organic and inorganic. Organic arsenic is naturally found in water, food and soil and passes through the body without incident. Inorganic...
