Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch Season 19 continues on, and fans are invested in Captain “Wild” Bill Wichrowski. Wichrowski joined the show in 2010 for season 6, and that’s also when his son, Zach Larson, joined the show. Unfortunately, it seems Wichrowski and Larson didn’t have a great relationship. Here’s what we know.

Deadliest Catch Season 19 fans are missing Zach Larson, and they may recall his relationship with his famous father, Captain “Wild” Bill Wichrowski. Larson and Wichrowski had a difficult father-son relationship. Wichrowski has three kids, and Larson was from a previous marriage (he took his mother’s last name). Reports suggest Wichrowski stepped out of his son’s life when Larson was young, causing a rift. Larson joined his father in 2008 to catch crabs together for the first time.

If the Discovery Channel was angling for a hit show, then they hauled it in with the “Deadliest Catch,” which premiered in 2005 and has aired every year since.
The documentary series, narrated by Mike Rowe, follows crab fishermen and crab boats as they ply their dangerous and sometimes deadly trade in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and snow crab fishing seasons. The base for the crab fleet is the Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
Through the years of the TV show’s airing, it has proven popular around the globe, making the skippers, their crewman, and their boats, celebrities in their own right.
This year’s season, which kicks off with a two-hour premiere on April 19, finds the crews of nine crab vessels trying to cope with the Alaskan government shutting down red king crab catching for the season. You’ll also find them contending with the usual treacherous seas,...

It's King crab season for captain "Wild Bill" Wichrowski's Cape Caution, but his deckhands may not be up for the challenge just yet.
In an exclusive sneak peek at the season 12 premiere, newcomer Jerod Sechrist learns exactly how much one wrong crab can cost the crew.
"Having one female in a whole tank of crab, we could get fined tens of thousands of dollars," explains Wichrowski's son Zach Larson after he spots Sechrist accidentally letting a female slip by.
"Can you sort King crab or not?" he asks. "Do you know the differences between a male and a female?"

If Mike Rowe wrote his own narration, "Deadliest Catch" might be a very different show.
Via his Facebook page, the former "Dirty Jobs" host, who has done double duty as the narrator of Discovery's crab-fishing reality juggernaut since its earliest days, decided to give his own voiceover commentary a tweak.
Apparently he wasn't entirely satisfied with how the description of a conflict between fishing vessel Capt. "Wild Bill" Wichrowski and his deckhand son, Zack Larson, was written.
Rowe posted:
"Last week on 'Deadliest Catch,' some of you will recall that Zack Larson on the Cape Caution was pretty well lambasted by the narration. Frankly, I'm sympathetic, and want to make good on my offer to present a different view of what might have been broadcast. Nothing about the original scene has been altered but the narration.
Tell me if you think it makes a difference ... 'Alternate Catch: Zack Larson...
