One of the issues at the heart of the WGA strike continues to be mini-rooms and the impact they’ve had — and could continue to have — on television shows. But, as WGA members who spoke with TheWrap note, the rooms have an emotional impact on writers, too.
A mini-room is a practice in which a television creator assembles a writers’ room to create multiple scripts — sometimes even an entire season’s worth — for a show, often before the title has even been greenlit. With these scripts in hand, a network or streamer will make a decision as to whether or not the show is good enough to go on.

While standing outside 30 Rockefeller Plaza by the picket lines, tambourine in hand, “Broad City” co-creator and star Ilana Glazer kept returning to the same sentiment.
“I’m so angry,” Glazer told TheWrap. “I’m so angry that I’m bursting at the seams.”
That feeling permeated across the WGA’s “young writers picket,” a day dedicated to writers either in college, fresh out of college or at the beginning of their careers who eventually want to become part of the WGA. According to WGA strike captain Dylan Guerra, this day was more than just an interesting theme. It was a day dedicated to “a group of people that are deeply considered in the strike and one of the motivating factors for why we’re striking.”
It also was organized by a person of an age bracket the WGA says it is striking for. Tai Lyn Sandhu is a 16-year-old aspiring...

When Dylan Guerra, a WGA strike captain who worked on the final season of “The Other Two,” read that the the AMPTP was willing to drag the strike out until October, his initial response was a single question: “What the f–k?”
That degree of shock and outrage has been a common response across both coasts as members of WGA and SAG-AFTRA reacted to a controversial story from Deadline. The report, published last week, quoted an anonymous studio executive who told the publication “the endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses,” with another insider calling the strategy “a cruel but necessary evil.”
Publicly, the story has been refuted by the AMPTP, which released a statement saying, “These unnamed people named in the Deadline story are not speaking on behalf of our companies who are committed to reaching a...

More than any other show currently on television, The Other Two has mastered the art of pop culture references. They're neither cheap nor obvious, and they're laser-targeted to the show's audience. For a show about how fame and the entertainment industry can warp reality, The Other Two's advanced-level pop literacy easily convinces its culture-drenched audience that they're speaking the same deranged language. In the show's third season, creators and writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider — along with a writing staff that this season has included Allison Silverman, Gil Nissim, Jimmy Fowlie, Moss Perricone, and Dylan Guerra — have crafted some of the show's most ambitious pop references to date, and they're nailing them.
