Severed Connection, which revolves around a man and woman who wake up to find themselves trapped in a remote location, also will star Jennifer Blanc, Ufc’s Krzysztof Soszynski, Nick Bateman (Hobo With a Shotgun) and Hackman, a karate expert.
The picture is based on a story by Bateman and Hackman, who earlier starred along with Biehn and Soszynski in Tapped, a Canadian action drama about a disgruntled teenager with a troubled past who enters an Mma tournament...

Michael Biehn stars in Tapped as Reggie, a karate instructor who mentors a teenager who’s been sent to do community service at his rundown school and plans to enter a mixed-martial-arts tournament to confront the killer of his parents. Directed by Allan Ungar, the movie also stars Martin Kove (on familiar turf from the Karate Kid movies), Hobo With A Shotgun’s Nick Bateman, five-time Karate World Champion Cody Hackman and Ufc superstars Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and Krzysztof Soszynski.
The movie was shot in London, Ontario, Canada, and producer Geoff Hart plans to return there to film the upcoming chiller Severed Connection, starring Biehn and partner Jennifer Blanc. Hart also scripted this one, from a story by Bateman and Hackman about two people who find themselves trapped in a remote location and must reveal their pasts in order to survive. A Blanc/Biehn Productions film written and directed by Travis Romero, Treachery is about a group of friends who gather at a cabin in the woods for a wedding party that turns dark and violent. Michael Biehn, Matthew Ziff, I Spit On Your Grave’s Sarah Butler, Caitlin Keats, Jennifer Blanc, Richard Gunn, Christian J. Meoli, Tanya Newbould and Chris Meyer star, and producers Rob Freeman and Cody Hackman from Hackybox Pictures have come aboard to help with post. The duo cast Biehn in their upcoming mixed-martial-arts feature Tapped (about a teenager who enters an Mma tournament to take revenge on the man who killed his parents, co-starring Hackman, Martin Kove and Hobo With A Shotgun’s Nick Bateman), and they got along so well that not only did Freeman and Hackman become part of the Treachery team, they’re in talks to collaborate on future projects. Hobo With a Shotgun, the Grindhouse competition short that became a feature-length movie starring Rutger Hauer, was – at least for me – one of the filmic highlights of the year. Well now tits director Jason Eisener has let slip some details on his next film, which is apparently going to be called Bvh, or to give it its full title: Blatant Violence High… Sounds awesome already right? But that’s not all.
At this years London Film4 FrightFest Eisener’s Dp on Hobo… and director of Subconcious Cruelty, Karim Hussain, revealed that he’s back working with Eisener on Bvh (and at the same time revealed the films full title). Also, Eisener has posted an image of the original box art for the classic video game Vigilante on his Tumblr with the words “Bvh inspiration” below it. And… as if all that wasn’t enough, martial artist Nick Bateman has posted...

Did you enjoy the brutal, graphic violence of Jason Eisener's "Hobo with a Shotgun," but find yourself thinking, "Boy, if only the titular hobo was less old and grizzled, and more like how I see myself: a street-fighting vigilante?" If so, then you're in luck, as "Hobo" director Jason Eisener's next film is set to be "Blatant Violence High."
Last week, Bleeding Cool broke the news they learned from cinematographer Karim Hussain, who admitted that his next project is Eisener's second movie. Up until now we've known the project only as "Bvh," but Hussain revealed what the acronym actually stands for.
When we first heard the movie's title, our brains immediately went to some kind of over-the-top high school brawl movie - like "The Outsiders" if "The Outsiders" wasn't for pussies. But alas, Bleeding Cool describes the flick as "a street fighting vigilante film featuring a lot of martial arts work,...

When Shock has Hobo With a Shotgun director Jason Eisener in the studio for Choice Cuts , he told us his next picture would be a martial arts flick set in a world similar to Hobo . "It's set in a high school, just imagine what high school life would be like in that insane world of Hobo With a Shotgun , it has a lot of insane characters and martial arts inspired by The Wanderers , Class of 1984 , a bit of The Karate Kid ," he told us. Bleeding Cool got wind of the title while at FrightFest in London. Apparently the project is entitled Bvh which stands for Blatant Violence High . Eisener says it's a also a bit inspired by the video game Vigilante . Stunt man Nick Bateman posted a pic of the production here .

Briefly: Looks like Hobo With a Shotgun director Jason Eisener is already deep into production on his follow-up. We'd heard talk of him making a film called Bvh, without knowing too much about what the picture actually is. Now we know that 'Bvh' stands for Blatant Violence High, as cinematographer and occasional director Karim Hussain says that he's working on the film with Eisener. There isn't a lot of info available on the film right now, but Bleeding Cool [1] talked to Hussain at Frightfest yesterday, and reports that the film is evidently "a street fighting vigilante film featuring a lot of martial arts work." On his own Tumblr [2], Eisener says Bvh is inspired by the video game Vigilante [3], and he has referenced The Warriors while talking about the film. (Which almost seems like a necessary thing to do.) Stuntman Nick Bateman posted [4] the header image, of a fight scene being staged for Bvh.

The most fun Killer Film has had this year at the movies, has been director Jason Eisener’s Hobo with a Shotgun. Over-the-top, rude, crude, it’s a rare treat to be so successful at being so outrageous, and Bleeding Cool got the scoop that his next is called Bvh, or Blatant Violence High.
Little else is known, although the film seems to be underway. According to Eisener’s Tumblr, his inspiration is the video game Vigilante, with a little Nuke ‘Em High thrown in. Nick Bateman on his Facebook posted a pic from either a scene in the film or a test, which gives us a little hint at how Bvh will look.
Eisener is an emerging genre talent. We cannot wait for his next now. Warriors! Come out and plaaay!

Hobo with a Shotgun gives you exactly what you'd expect from a movie called Hobo with a Shotgun. You can decide whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, but Magnolia has certainly put together a package worth owning if you fall on the side of the former.
Like Machete, Hobo with a Shotgun began as one of the fake trailers sandwiched between the Grindhouse double feature of Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, though Hobo appeared only in Canadian cinemas after it won a contest giving it the privilege to do so. Long story short, the fake trailer's director (Jason Eisener) was ultimately given $3 million to make a feature from that premise and this is the result.
This exploitation film, in case the title isn't descriptive enough, takes the Death Wish formula and puts it in hands of a homeless man played by Rutger Hauer...

Chicago – What do you expect from a movie called “Hobo With a Shotgun” (other than perhaps the most truthful title since “Snakes on a Plane”)? If you’re spending hard-earned money on a movie about a vengeful homeless person played by Rutger Hauer, you probably know what you’re in for. On those grindhouse terms, “Hobo With a Shotgun” totally works. It’s so far over-the-top that it makes “Machete” look believable, but that’s why it’s effective. Unlike so many movies you will see this season, “Hobo With a Shotgun” delivers.
Rutger Hauer plays the title character, a boxcar jumper who finds himself in the ironically-named “Hope Town,” a place that would make Gomorrah look like a lovely place for a summer vacation. Shortly after his arrival, our hero witnesses a horrific event in the center of town. The ringmaster of sin and chaos, The Drake (Brian Downey...

Director: Jason Eisener Writers: Jason Eisener, John Davies, Rob Cotterill Starring: Rutger Hauer, Gregory Smith, Molly Dunsworth, Brian Downey, Nick Bateman I really did not want to pile onto the "I hate Hobo with a Shotgun" bandwagon, especially since Dave Campbell (Smells Like Screen Spirit's Editor-in-Chief) and I seem to be the only ones riding on it. (In case you missed it, here is Dave's review of Hobo with a Shotgun.) I typically do not read reviews of films before I write my own, but in this instance I read everything that has been published (to date) on IMDb.com and Rotten Tomatoes; and, I have to admit, I really do not understand why so many people are raving about it. And that, my friends, is the reason I want to explain why I hopped on this god-forsaken bandwagon in the first place... Hopping off a train -- because that...

Rutger Hauer in Hobo with a Shotgun
Photo: Magnet Releasing Hobo with a Shotgun is terrible, and for me to dedicate more than those six words to this review is to give it more than it deserves. But the unwritten rules say I have to be fair and make a case for my opinion, which in this case is fine since I have a few questions I think need to be asked.
This is the second film to come out of the fake trailer sector in recent years. Similar to Robert Rodriguez's Machete, Hobo with a Shotgun started as a result of the Quentin Tarantino and Rodriguez 2007 teaming, Grindhouse. Co-writer and director Jason Eisener's Hobo with a Shotgun fake trailer was the winner of a contest that saw his trailer played in front of screenings of Grindhouse in Canada. It’s no secret that the story behind Hobo with a Shotgun’s four year journey to the big screen has been a remarkable one. In 2007, when Eisener won the Grindhouse faux trailer competition sponsored by Robert Rodriguez and the SXSW Film Festival, he was a relatively unknown Canadian filmmaker who put together his contest winning entry on a budget less than what many of us spend on groceries a week.
Now, Eisener and the feature film adaptation of his trailer of the same name are everywhere these days and for very good reason. Turns out that Eisener’s tale of a street urchin dishing up justice with a shotgun and a dream for safer streets in Hope Town has become a cultural landmark- all before the movie even bows in a limited theatrical release this Friday courtesy of Magnet Releasing.

It began as an award winning “fake” Grindhouse trailer now, Hobo With A Shotgun, director Jason Eisener’s full-on, no-holds-barred, kick-ass movie tribute to the grind house movies of the 1970s and 80s, is heading to the UK! Rutger Hauer fills the title role inspired by countless exploitation classics, and its more than great to see him back! The splattery goodness kicks of in UK cinemas July 22nd. Synopsis: When an ageing Hobo (Hauer) jumps from a freight car in a new city hoping for a fresh start in life, he soon realizes he has well and truly reached the end of the line. He finds himself trapped in an urban hell, an anarchic world overrun by murderers, rapists, paedophiles, petty crooks, prostitutes and corrupt cops. Reigning supreme over them all is the city’s crime boss, Drake (Brian Downey), and his two insanely sadistic sons, Slick (Gregory Smith) and...

Written by: John Davies
Starring: Rutger Hauer, Molly Dunsworth, Gregory Smith, Nick Bateman and Brian Downey
“Hobo with a Shotgun” is about as close to truth in advertising as you’re likely to get. Rutger Hauer — in all of his wrinkled, haggard, weathered Rutger Hauer glory — stars as the titular hobo, who alights from a train in Hope Town (regraffitied “Scum Town”), a seedy everycity that has been overrun by crime thanks to corrupt warlord The Drake (Brian Downey, acting and looking like a crazed Dick Miller) and his two punk sons, Slick (Gregory Smith) and Ian (Nick Bateman). When the Hobo is pushed too far, he pushes back, resulting in a gleeful bloodbath of over-the-top violence, guts and gore.
Director Jason Eisener and writer John Davies have a love of these kinds of genre flicks, and that is apparent in...

The grindhouse genre received an addition at this year’s Sundance film festival with Jason Eisener’s Hobo With A Shotgun. I recently had a chance to view the film, and I have to say I want that hour and a half of my life back. Seriously, I don’t know what Eisener was thinking, but this film is terrible, don’t waste your time. Yes, grindhouse films are supposed to be a bit campy, and have kind of a b-movie feel, and be full of gore and nudity and all, but they’re also supposed to have some kind of social or artistic value. Hobo With A Shotgun took being a grindhouse film way too seriously and actually Is a b movie. So, if you’re looking to be bombarded by images of senseless gore and bull****, this film is for you, but it honestly has little to no real social value.

The new, Nsfw action movie Hobo With a Shotgun is so extreme even star Rutger Hauer thinks it goes too far. How did a fake trailer made for just $150 become the year’s maddest movie?
Canadian director Jason Eisener originally wanted to make his debut feature film Hobo With a Shotgun a couple of years ago. And he would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn’t for those pesky kids. The (fictional) children in question played a small but crucial part in the script for Hobo that Eisener, his producer Rob Cotterill, and his writer John Davies...
