- Kjirstin acted in a few roles in her twenties, but photography was her true love. She's been a freelancing photojournalist for over 40 years, and is a published author. She has worked many years behind the scenes, honing her art and becoming skilled at costume design. Her daughter, Rachel Payne, is a singer and performer, and Kjirstin was content to design and sew for her productions.
In 2009, her local film and photography group began filming shorts, and, in her words, "needed an old lady" so she stepped in "just because nobody else could pull it off; I didn't want some 20-something trying to fake wrinkles." She has since been unstoppable, working on many film sets, in many roles.
Kjirstin now considers Utah her home, and is an avid fan of the many and varied locations and crew afforded to filmmakers there.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Jean Redcliffe

- Spent 272 hours on a teeter-totter for the Guinness Book of World Records back in the 1970s.
- Kjirstin Youngberg was the costume designer for the 2011 film, The Wayshower, starring Eric Roberts, Peter Stormare, Sally Kirkland, and Jsu Garcia. The wardrobe department was in a large storefront room with windows facing the Main Street where it was filmed in Helper, Utah. While dressing Mr. Roberts, Kjirstin directed him the dressing rooms in the back, but he said, "I've dressed in front of plenty of wardrobe people, no problem." She tried to indicate that his backside was in front of the large picture windows, and he was in his skivvies, but he waved her off. Just then, an AD came in a side door, and Mr. Roberts said, "Excuse me, I'd like a little privacy here!" Che Hurley and Veronica Pincheira, also in wardrobe, are still laughing over that one.
- Kjirstin is the author of three nonfiction books, and her fourth book, should be available in the summer of 2021.
