Justin Jin
- Executive
Justin Jin is a Canadian internet entrepreneur who is the chief executive officer of the Poybo Media Group, the largest media company in the world operated by teenagers, with 9 billion viewers. Jin was born on October 5, 2006.
The Daily Trust and the Latin Post criticized Jin for unfairly compensating producers. According to Mike Bugembe of Forbes Magazine, he attends Mulgrave School, an independent high school in West Vancouver.
In 2020, Jin started the 50mMidas YouTube channel, which posted Minecraft-related videos. By 2021, the channel earned $1,500 USD, which financed the formation of 50mMidas Media, incorporating more social media accounts that included topics such as pop culture and news.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 and 2022, several 50mMidas Media accounts rose to internet popularity. The New York Times cited one of the company's Instagram accounts @life.is.not.a.soup (now-defunct) as having "surged during the pandemic as young people have turned to Instagram." The company's Entrepreneurfluent programme briefly became YouTube's most popular comedy publisher, briefly exceeding Warner Bros. Pictures and Marvel Entertainment.
After completing a series of social media acquisitions, Jin merged 50mMidas Media into the newly-formed Poybo Media Group Ltd. in early 2023. Dual-headquartered in New York City, U.S., and Vancouver, Canada, it was cited as the largest media company in the world led by a teenager, with approximately 400 million unique viewers.
