The Bachelor and The Bachelorette fans have spent years watching couples fall in love and get engaged on national television. Many proposals have been captured throughout the seasons, and various gorgeous rings have been used. Not all pairings end up making it down the aisle, though. The ones who don’t say “I do” often find themselves contractually obligated to give back their engagement rings, which are gifted to contestants.
Theresa Nist, the winner of the first-ever The Golden Bachelor season, touched on the ring issues briefly during her divorce announcement. So, what happens to all those rings?
Failed relationships lead to returned engagement rings for ‘Bachelor Nation’ contestants
The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have led to epic proposals and dramatic breakups. The producers considered the volatile nature of relationships when creating contracts for the contestants. Over the years, plenty of contestants have been asked about their engagement rings post-breakup.

By now, fans of The Bachelor know that Zach Shallcross is engaged to Kaity Biggar. The Bachelor got down on one knee and presented her with a beautiful Neal Lane ring in the season finale. Although Kaity’s engagement ring is dazzling, it’s not the one she would have chosen for herself. That ring went to Rachel Recchia during the previous season of The Bachelorette.

New Delhi, March 23 (Ians) Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up on his controversial exit from Manchester United, admitting that he had never been through this phase in his career but “he is a better man” following his painful experience few months ago.
The Portugal international also said that it was a bad career decision to rejoin the United in 2021.
“Sometimes you have to go through some things to see who’s on my side. In a difficult phase, you can see who is on your side. I have no problem saying, I had a bad career run, but there’s no time for regrets,” Ronaldo said in a press conference ahead of Portugal’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Lisbon, Jan 9 (Ians) The Portuguese Football Federation (Fpf) announced on Monday Roberto Martinez as the new national football team coach until the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Martinez has coached Belgium for more than six years, starting in August 2016. During his reign, the “Red Devils” held the top position in the FIFA world rankings for more than three years, reports Xinhua.
The president of the Fpf, Fernando Gomes, stated that Martinez was his first and only option to lead the national team because he had “the desired profile” and the ability to lead Portugal “in the decisions of major competitions.”
“He would have to be ambitious, knowledgeable about international football, used to training players at the highest level, and with experience in major leagues and national teams. The place of birth of the new coach was never relevant,” said Gomes.

After a barren first half, substitutes Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal did the trick for Morocco, scoring in the 73rd minute and in the second minute of stoppage time.
For coach Walid Regragui, who took charge of Morocco in September, the match against Belgium was his sixth in charge and till now they have kept clean-sheets in all six games with him at the helm of affairs.
This is Morocco’s finest World Cup moment as Atlas Lions scripted their third-ever win at a World Cup and stand a great chance to qualify for the knockout stage. For Morocco, ranked 22, the two other World Cup wins came in 1998 when they trounced Scotland 3-0 and in 1986 they stunned the football world with a 3-1 win over Portugal and qualified for the knockout stage. The North Africans have not reached the knockout rounds since 1986.

Doha (Qatar), Nov 27 (Ians) The head coach of Belgium’s football team has declared high-risk tactics are responsible for a string of upsets at the Qatar World Cup.
Roberto Martinez on Saturday told Xinhua in a pre-match press conference in Doha that he believes more teams are pushing for wins in Qatar rather than settling for draws, leading to shock results.
Saudi Arabia caused one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history by beating tournament favorites Argentina 2-1 followed by Japan beating Germany.
Martinez’s Belgium side escaped the first round of fixtures with a 1-0 win over Canada despite registering 12 fewer attempts at goal than their opponents.
“Teams want to win games. They’re prepared to take risks, and that’s why we’ve seen surprising results,” he told Xinhua.
“You see more and more teams want to be technically playing from the back. Teams want to press high.

Doha, Nov 24 (Ians) Michy Batshuayi struck a first-half goal as Belgium opened their FIFA World Cup campaign with a 1-0 victory over Canada here late on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old Fenerbahce striker gave the European side the lead on the stroke of halftime when he thumped a first-time effort into the far corner following a counterattack.
Canada were denied an early lead by Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who dived low to his right to keep out an Alphonso Davies’ penalty, reports Xinhua.
The result extended Belgium’s unbeaten record in the World Cup group stage to 13 matches, a run that dates back to 1998.
Canada, playing on football’s biggest stage for the first time since 1986, continue their search for a first World Cup goal. On Wednesday’s form, they will be odds-on to break their duck against Croatia or Morocco in their remaining group matches.

What a (charitable) success! Fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette raised close to $60,000 for the Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation during a recent auction at the Sls Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., and the reality show contestants were out in full force. Recently single Kiptyn Locke and Roberto Martinez - who auctioned themselves off for a rugged day date, that included horseback riding, a surfing lesson and a fireside hangout on the beach - hung out together for much of the night and got a ton of attention from female attendees. Locke and Martinez are planning a San Diego outdoor adventure, and it's being auctioned off online to raise money for a charity supporting colorectal cancer patients.
Their day includes horseback riding, a surfing lesson and a fireside hangout on the beach. (Though it's not meant to end in roses or romance – sorry, ladies!)

Why You’re Getting More Sleep: This week, the wonderfully-named Calm (Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act… which would technically be Calma) went into effect. Meaning the commercials are now legally required to be no louder than the programming you’re napping through.
Line Of The Week: “A whale shark head-butted Michael Skupin,” said Survivor’s Malcolm. “Funniest thing I’ve seen in my life. And my mind’s become so calculating after a month and a half of this game, I’m thinking, ‘Oh, great! One less competitor!’”
Silliest Gossip: Proving that sometimes, reality TV really is just like real life, The Bachelorette’s Ali and Roberto hooked up at the wedding of fellow contestants J.P. and Ashley.
Why CBS Execs Are Freaking Out: CSI got the lowest numbers in its history, meaning they’re going to have to start figuring out how to spin-off some of their other shows.

Ali Fedotowsky says finding lasting love on "The Bachelor" and its spinoff "The Bachelorette" is "unrealistic" ... and she should know. The 28-year-old became engaged to Roberto Martinez during the finale of her "Bachelorette" season, but the two split in November 2011.Toofab caught up with Ali at the Voli Light Vodka Benefit, and asked if someone can find lasting love on a reality TV show. See what she had to say:Ali told toofab that selecting a spouse from a pool of contestants isn't "very realistic," but it did work out for her friends Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, whose wedding she recently attended (the ceremony will air on ABC on December 16).Has the experience made a pessimist out of the "1st Look" host? "It didn't work for me," Ali said with a shrug, "But, there's someone out there."Perhaps those reports that she rekindled her romance with Roberto at Ashley's wedding might be an exaggeration?...

Who says reality TV doesn't lead to true love? "The Bachelorette" Season 7 star Ashley Hebert and competition "winner" J.P. Rosenbaum tied the knot today during a "gorgeous" ceremony at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains in Pasadena, California.
Life & Style magazine reports there were 300 guests in attendance including fellow "Bachelor" franchise faces Sean Lowe, Molly and Jason Mesnick, Emily Maynard, Jillian Harris, former couple Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez, and the only other married couple to meet and get engaged on "The Bachelorette": Ryan and Trista Sutter. "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison officiated the ceremony.
"Today is all about our friends and family," Hebert tells People. "It's about standing with J.P., looking around at all the people we love in the same room there to celebrate our love."
The wedding was also filmed for an ABC special "The Bachelorette: Ashley & J.P.'s Wedding," airing Dec. 16.

After months of speculation and plenty of rumors, ABC has officially announced its next Bachelor and, as many had suspected and even hoped, Sean Lowe will be handing out the roses this time around. As a fan favorite on his season, ladies everywhere had been crossing their fingers that this all-American nice guy would be on the upcoming season of The Bachelor, and it looks like they are going to get their wish.
Sean, who was labeled “the perfect guy” practically all season long by Emily Maynard on “The Bachelorette,” was sent home in the third place spot, not even making it to the finale, leaving audiences everywhere a bit shocked. No one was more shocked on that night, however, than Sean himself, having admitted in People magazine that while standing at that final rose ceremony the thoughts going through his head had nothing to do with elimination, but with their future together.

It's official: Sean Lowe is starring in the upcoming season of The Bachelor, ABC tells People exclusively. The Dallas businessman and entrepreneur won the hearts of fans across the country as he wooed North Carolina single mom Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette last season, landing in the final three. Maynard sent Lowe, the second runner-up, home as she'd fallen head over heels for Utah entrepreneur Jef Holm, accepting his marriage proposal. "I was standing at that rose ceremony thinking I was going to marry her," Lowe told People last July of the heartbreaking moment when Maynard sent him home. Tuesday's...

Note: Do note read on if you have not seen the Season 8 finale of ABC's "The Bachelorette" with Emily Maynard.
I've been recapping "The Bachelorette" since 2003 and I can say with complete certainty that this has been my favorite season. Sure, I love certain characters from episodes of yore (be still my ever-loving Roberto, Ames and Reid heart) but for the first time in a long time, I actually ended the season with a feeling that I had been somewhat entertained each week instead of the usual, "Why does this show have to be two hours long when clearly 30 minutes could suffice?"
Perhaps I liked this year because of Emily's no nonsense attitude toward the traditional rules set forth by "Bachelor" nation. Maybe it was her Southern charm and integrity. It could have been her determination to actually take this reality show seriously for once by truly seeking out...
