It’s a known fact that NetherRealm’s Mortal 1 Kombat brought an existing and fresh reboot for the long-running franchise. Although the game had its issues, fans and critics received it well thanks to its constant updates and additions of new fighters to raise the stakes further. However, one of the most striking aspects of the game was Megan Fox’s feature as one of the fighters in the game!
In Mortal Kombat 1, Megan Fox voiced Nitara, one of the franchise’s most iconic fighters. While talking about her role as Nitara, she revealed she was an avid gamer, just like many of us. While many doubted her skills, Machine Gun Kelly could vouch for her as he will never forget Fox’s gaming dominance.

Karl Urban marked the end of filming on Simon McQuoid‘s upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 on his Instagram, calling it “the most action packed fun I’ve ever had” on a film. Urban, who plays Johnny Cage in the follow-up to the 2021 film, also took the opportunity to show himself sans beard, which he’ll no doubt be growing back for The Boys, which will be returning for Season 4 later this year.
We’ve not seen a picture yet of Urban as everyone’s favourite action movie star, though MK2 producer Todd Garner had given us a peek of what to expect a few weeks back. Garner had taken to X last week to announce that filming had wrapped for the film, which according to Garner, won’t have a trailer out just yet.
“I know I’m gonna start getting a lot of messages about like, ‘When is the trailer?...

So, Mortal Kombat took the fighting game by storm, and made it a worthy opponent to Capcom’s Street Fighter II. The obvious question after that is: How do you follow up that success? The obvious answer came in November 1993 with Mortal Kombat II. Was it more of the same? Not quite. Building upon the framework of the original game, Mkii honed what made the original game so great, added more Kombatants, more Fatalities, more secrets, and in general just gave fans more of what they craved in pixelated blood.
Mortal Kombat II picks up after the events of the previous tournament, where Shaolin warrior Liu Kang had defeated both the reigning Mortal Kombat champion Goro and the shapeshifting sorcerer Shang Tsung. Shang is brought before his master, Shao Kahn, the supreme ruler of Outworld, begging Kahn to spare his life. Shao Kahn relents after hearing Shang Tsung’s new...

It’s been two years since the release of the live action Mortal Kombat reboot, and a sequel is on the way soon. Filming on Mortal Kombat 2 actually kicked off earlier this summer, you may recall, but it didn’t last long due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes going on at the time. But have no fear, because production on the movie sequel gets back underway real soon.
Responding to a report this week that suggested Mortal Kombat 2 will begin filming in early 2024, producer Todd Garner notes on Twitter that it’s actually kicking off even sooner.
“This is not true. We are filming before then,” Garner teases.
He writes in a follow-up tweet, “I promise I will keep the Mk Kommunity posted as soon as I have info on start date, etc. Everyone else is just speculating… or posting for clicks.”

Johnny Cage is an action movie star and martial artist who first appeared in the original Mortal Kombat game released in 1992. The character didn’t appear in the recent Mortal Kombat movie, but a post-credit scene teased that he would be on his way. It was announced earlier this year that Karl Urban was in talks to play Johnny Cage. I’m excited to see the actor in costume for the first time, but I have no doubt that he’s going to knock the role out of the park.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actress Adeline Rudolph is going from Riverdale to Outworld for New Line‘s Mortal Kombat 2. Rudolph is the second Chilling Adventures cast member to sign on for the Mortal Kombat sequel after Tati Gabrielle announced she’s in talks to play Jade in the follow-up to director Simon McQuoid’s 2021 smash. McQuoid directs the sequel, featuring Karl Urban as the fast-talking Hollywood misfit fighter Johnny Cage.
Written by Jeremy Slater, Mortal Kombat 2 continues the story established in the McQuoid reboot, focusing on an eclectic group of fighters pulled into a contest of champions for the fate of Earthrealm against the sinister forces of Outworld. New Line’s Mortal Kombat was released at the onset of the pandemic in theaters and on HBO Max, becoming one of the streaming platform’s most significant hits.
