"NewsRadio" star Stephen Root, fresh from a recent turn on "Boardwalk Empire," has been cast in the Fox pilot "To My Future Assistant." The recent "Ben and Kate" guest star and former "American Dreams" actress is joining the new Fox pilot titled "To My Future Assistant," Entertainment Weekly reports.
The comedy pilot, based on a blog of the same name, follows a group of assistants at a major New York law firm who help each other deal with their obnoxious and overbearing bosses. According to EW, Snow will play Jen, "a super-ambitious young woman who can't stand being a legal assistant for another day and hopes to snag an associate lawyer position at her firm now that she's passed the bar." Regina Hall is set to co-star opposite Martin Lawrence in his CBS comedy pilot. The project, written by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger and produced by CBS TV Studios, stars Lawrence as Ray, a widowed father of two teenagers who, after losing his job in construction, decides to go to the police academy and become a cop at the age of 46.
