Exclusive: Peter Guber’s Mandalay Television is stepping into the fantasy realm.
The production company has optioned Raven Kennedy’s Plated Prisoner series, which includes five books: Gild, Glint, Gleam, Glow, and Gold.
It is now setting up the project as a series.
The books are a new take on the story of King Midas and how everything he touches turns to gold. They have been a viral hit on Instagram’s Book Club and BookTok.
The story follows Auren, a twenty-five year old woman, who has been gold-touched by King Midas. Her skin, her hair – everything is gold except for the whites of her eyes and her teeth. Midas saved her and she gave him her heart. She is kept in a gilded cage on the highest level of the castle, but she is safe. Until a deal is struck. Her trust is broken in the one person she thought would never betray her.

The zombies in AMC's Fear The Walking Dead are gaining ground as the calendar creeps closer to April 10th, the season two premiere date that will mark the return of faces both familiar and fresh. Today, two new actors were announced to appear in the second season of The Walking Dead companion series, while Fox's The Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot also added a new cast member.
TVLine reports that Dougray Scott (Hemlock Grove) has joined Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 in a recurring role. Details on his character have yet to be revealed, but there is speculation that he will portray "Casey, a decent man who believes in civility”, someone who "is confident in an unexpected position of authority." It's important to note that casting details for The Walking Dead-related projects are usually misleading to provide secrecy, so we'll have to wait and see if the above description...

Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game Of Thrones and more... As nominated by Den Of Geek writers, here are our favourite TV episodes of 2014
Whatever else it's brought with it, 2014 has been an exemplary year for television. There's so much good stuff around that keeping on top of it has become a job of work. How many of us have started silently dreading hearing enthused recommendations from pals about new series? Who else has developed a nervous tick whenever they hear the words "Have you been watching...". There's simply Too. Much. TV.
Too much, however, is better than not enough. Too much enables debate, and better than that, it enables the ultimate geek pursuit: list-making. A fortnight ago, we asked our writers to nominate their favourite television episodes of the year and have been busily collating their votes and happily clicking Excel buttons ever since.

It’s the most wonderful time of year. Halloween. Everyone on TV celebrates, not just The Walking Dead and Grimm. To get the most out of your Halloween TV viewing experience, here is your guide to Halloween-flavored TV shows for 2013. I have opted not to focus on shows like The Vampire Diaries or American Horror Story, which are scary every episode. Instead, I am focusing on sitcoms and other episodic television that don’t usually focus on ghosts and gore.

As 2011 swings around to its inevitable conclusion, the Rubbernecker feels the need (okay, you can call it an addiction) to fete this year's TV glories and gories. And there were quite a few of each. As you may know I have a fondness for the ticky-tacky known as Reality Television, I so love the term because it's so not anyone's reality I've ever known. So this recap will examine first the ridiculous... then the sublime.
Best Reality Show Of 2011 (and it is, actually, a Reality Show)
Hands down, this would be the Gop debates we've had occasion to scope in the latter part of the annum. I mean, what can one say? This has been such a delicious treat! And it's only getting more interesting as the wheat separates from the chaff. Only there really is no wheat amongst this motley crew... just chaff. I'll see you in Iowa next...

The wonderful Jason Segel of "How I Met Your Mother" is hosting "Saturday Night Live" this weekend (Nov. 19), with musical guest Florence + the Machine. Check out these promos for his episode.
This is Jason Segel's first time hosting and cast member Vanessa Bayer's first time doing the promos with the host, a subject they touch on in the promos. We'd be Ok with Jason Segel being our first time too, Vanessa (for doing promos. Duh. What were you thinking?)
There's also a pretty funny joke about "How I Met Your Mother." Segel's, "That's not the way she tells it" made us laugh pretty hard. And it's nice to see Bayer get the spotlight. They don't use her enough on "SNL."

Earlier we shared ABC's primetime lineup, and now we have some clips from the new comedy series for you. The new comedies include Apartment 23, Suburgatory, Last Man Standing, Man Up, and Work It. So far I think Apartment 23 looks the best. Check out the clips below and let us know what shows you are liking the most.
Apartment 23
After a naive Midwestern girl's big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare in this hilarious, contemporary comedy about a female odd couple who are surrounded by an outrageous cast of characters. June (Dreama Walker) moves to Manhattan for a dream job and the perfect company apartment, only to have them disappear in a puff of reality, thanks to a CEO from the Bernie Madoff school of embezzlement. Deep in debt and out on the streets, June scrambles to land a job and place to live.
