On The Amazing Race, contestants travel the world for approximately 21 to 30 days, competing in mental and physical challenges at every destination. They face all kinds of conditions and cultures. Surprisingly, though, contestants aren’t really told what they need to pack — it’s a lot of guesswork. Most items are fair game to bring along, but some are forbidden. Here are some Amazing Race packing rules that determine what to leave at home, plus some things contestants can and should put in their packs.

After 29 seasons of CBS’s hit reality TV show “The Amazing Race,” only three all-female teams have prevailed: doctors Nat Strand & Kat Chang in Season 17, sisters Kisha Hoffman & Jen Hoffman in Season 18, and food scientists Amy DeJong & Maya Warren in Season 25. According to Gold Derby’s exclusive odds for the current 30th season, X-Games athletes Kristi Leskinen & Jen Hudak will be next to join this exclusive list. And it’s about time.
So far Kristi and Jen have arrived first at the mat in two prior legs, including the premiere episode. As of this writing the powerhouse duo has leading 21/20 to win heading into Wednesday’s two-hour episode, titled “The First Rule of Amazing Race Club.” The trailer for this week’s combined 9th and 10th episodes hints that one team will lose their passport. If true, this mistake could cost one of the remaining five teams their shot at the $1 million prize.

There are several things that have to be discussed in this recap of Friday (December 19) night's "Amazing Race" finale, but I want to get this out of the way: I don't think Brooke was wrong to be pissed off to see The Candy Girls arrive at the Manila airport after the last Leg and I don't think Adam was wrong to say that he was frustrated. When I talked to Phil Keoghan about the rash of episodes in which teams didn't go home this season -- Four out of 11 episodes -- he said that people were universally excited by the ending of the last Leg, because it was something they had never seen before. True. What they hadn't seen before was a team get spared from elimination at the end of what was, for all intents and purposes, a Leg despite finishing last, only to be immediately rewarded with an Equalizer at the airport,...

Sixteen seasons without an all-female team winning "The Amazing Race" and now twice in two seasons it's been done, as sisters Jen and Kisha took home the million dollar prize from "Unfinished Business," just a season after Nat and Kat won Season 17. Jen and Kisha are, of course, the first team of sisters to win. This is the first leg they won the entire race.
It's apropos their victory aired on Mother's Day, as they are going to use the money to help their mom out. But let's see how we got there ...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of The Amazing Race, Episode 7
The Amazing Race returned on Sunday night after a week away due to the Academy of Country Music Awards, which were held in Las Vegas last week. Ironically, I was in Las Vegas at the same time (not attending the awards), although I did Just miss Carrie Underwood at the Wynn on Sunday night. I appreciated the coincidence that the week that the show wasn’t on, was the one week that I was away on vacation, so the recap I wouldn’t have been able to write, didn’t have to be written.
One fun thing that did happen on this trip actually did involve The Amazing Race, however. Remember back in Season 15, when on the final leg of the Race, the teams were in Las Vegas and had to count two million dollars in poker chips? Well, that...

You've already seen the Best & Worst Reality TV Moments of 2010. How is this different, you may ask?
Well -- moments and characters are not the same thing. For instance, an all-girl team finally winning "The Amazing Race" was awesome. But Nat and Kat weren't exactly "characters." They were good racers and are probably great doctors. But they weren't what makes reality TV fun -- crazy, polarizing characters.
That's what this list is for. So with no further ado, Zap2it presents our Best Reality TV Characters of 2010, in alphabetical order.
Simon Cowell: Simon took his Cowellness to a whole new level during his last season on the show. He had very clearly checked out this year, running out the clock until he could bolt for "The X Factor." It was delightful to watch his increasing boredom and frustration with a show that now succumbs to the whims of tween girl voters.

At the end of The Amazing Race 17, it mostly came down to cabs and the order that they left the airport, and in their exit interviews, the final three teams discussed their cab selection and whether it was a well-constructed leg or not. Bad cab luck reared its ugly head again on The Amazing Race finale — this time costing Jill Haney, 27, and Thomas Wolfard, 30, a chance at the $1 million. After being in second place for most of the leg, the couple fell to third when they got into a cab with a driver who didn't know English — or what the Internet was apparently. "He said he didn't know. How much worse luck can you possibly have?" Thomas tells TVGuide.com. "But the race kind of reflects life experiences, and sometimes you have good days and sometimes you have bad days. Sometimes you go in the wrong direction, you have communication barriers. Everything went wrong. It's kind of how it is." Though they've made their peace with their third-place finish now, the two say they're still upset they never had a chance to catch up to Nat and Kat thanks to the linear structure of the leg.

It took 17 seasons but an all-female team finally finished first on The Amazing Race. Los Angeles doctors Nat Strand, 31, and Kat Chang, 35, spoke with People about the highs and lows of their history-making run and why the experience means so much more than the money. (Not that being able to pay off medical school debt isn't also putting a smile on their face.) Does it feel good to finally be able to talk about making history? Nat: It was harder in the beginning but after a month it got easy. I almost forgot it had happened in real life.

After 17 seasons, The Amazing Race crowned its first all-female team champs: doctors Nat Strand, 31, and Kat Chang, 35. "I just think it's hard for any team to win The Amazing Race, whether you're an all-male team or all-female team," Kat tells TVGuide.com. "I think some of our strengths were just that we've actually worked together before in stressful situations, [being] sleep-deprived. You just have to have a positive attitude too. We're also really lucky!" They were also very well-prepared for the final leg in Los Angeles. Find out what kind of research they did, what they plan to do with the $1 million and more.

Nat Strand and Kat Chang are two of the most adorably non-dramatic reality show contestants ever. The 17th season of Amazing Race had its fair share of squabbling couples (Nick and Vicki! Chad and Stephanie!) and passive-aggressive travel shenanigans, but the team of doctors made an inspirational portrait of courageous amiability under fire. Throw in the fact that Nat’s a diabetic with a fear of heights, and that vegetarian Kat had to devour a gloriously weird-looking sheep’s head in Norway, and you’re left with only one conclusion: These women deserved to win. As big finishes go, Dexter's was a nail-biter, leaving us pretty breathless — though tripping over at least a few loose ends along the way. The Amazing Race on the other hand coasted to its finish line with minimal suspense — but maximum satisfaction in crowning the first all-female champs, the likable doctor duo of Nat and Kat, who stayed comfortably in first place for the entire last leg. The unflappably perky Home Shopping hosts Brook and Claire landed in second, amusing themselves and the audience all the way to the end. Everyone seemed pleased, and even the ultra-competitive last-guy-standing Thomas (who ran afoul of an L.A. cabbie who'd never heard of the Internet) took his defeat like a pro.

Nat Strand and Kat Chang have made Amazing Race history by becoming its first female team to win. The two doctors, both in their 30s, were followed across the finish line by Brook Roberts and Claire Champlin, who finished second. Nat & Kat have made history as the first all-female team to win The Amazing Race. The doctors scooped the $$1 million prize on Sunday night's season finale of the CBS competition following a smooth journey from Seoul, South Korea to the Los Angeles finish line. Home shopping hosts Brook & Claire took second place, while dating couple Jill & Thomas finished third. Jill & Thomas had been the first team to depart Seoul but the running order was evened out at the airport as everybody waited for the ticket office to open. They then flew more than 6,000 miles to Los Angeles where they took taxis to Pier J at the Port Of Long Beach. "We have run hard and worked hard and played hard this whole time," said Jill. "The girls have a chance to make Amazing Race history but I don't think it's going to happen!" Brook said that if she (more)...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of the Season Finale of The Amazing Race.Sorry for the delay in getting tonight’s post up, especially for those of you who are used to it being up at 9:30 Et. I’m still on the West Coast, so didn’t even get to watch the episode until it aired here. It’s Finale Night so let’s get right to it…
My Random Thoughts:
- The opening recap of the entire race was pretty much a 3-minute segment saying “Remember that Nick and Chad are both bad people.” The nifty little lingo that Phil used saying teams ‘sank, crashed, and clashed’ all showed video clips featuring Chad. And after seeing the watermelon smash one more time (seriously, I never get tired of it, do you?), we wrapped up Phil’s recap with the trademark eyebrow…now with a ‘ding!’ sound effect.

Last night’s finale of the seventeenth edition of The Amazing Race was not the most dramatic in series history.
Nat and Kat’s victory, while certainly awesome to see, was unfortunately predictable as their lead grew, impressively, throughout the episode.
What the season lacked in drama in the final leg it more than made up for it with an unusually likable cast. Only a handful of contestants were the kind you actively root against and even those were tamed by The Amazing Race standards. Instead we were treated to a cast without a dominant group, but one that was easy to root for.
Take the final three contestants from last night. Most people were likely rooting for either Nat and Kat or Brook and Claire. Does this mean that Jill and Thomas were not likable? Ok, perhaps they were not our favorites, but they were a very deserving team if they did win,...

After 16 seasons, "The Amazing Race" finally has a two-woman team winner. Doctors Nat and Kat crossed the finish line first to win the race on Sunday, December 12 broadcast, thus making a history as the first woman-woman team to ever win the U.S. version.
The odds actually were tipping to this possibility for the final consisted of another woman-woman team. Home Shopping hosts Brook and Claire came second in the race, followed by dating couple Jill and Thomas.
During the final hours of their 32,000 miles journey, the three teams went back from South Korea to Los Angeles, California where they had to do a bungee jump off a giant crane in Port of Long Beach, decorate a float for the Tournament of Roses parade and play a trivia contest with Bob Eubanks.

Could an all-woman team win The Amazing Race? That was the big question going into tonight’s season finale. On one side: Nat and Kat, a brilliant and classy pair of doctors. On the other: Brook and Claire, twin dynamos of ridiculous energy. Tonight's finale show kicked off with scenes from the entire season, including last week's episode when Nick & Vicki got eliminated. Then the teams had to fly to sunny Los Angeles,California to get their next clue. After that, they had to go up on a crane. Then bungee jump to get their next clue. Next, they had to ride a helicopter to a surprise destination, which turned out to be the Rose Bowl in Pasadena,California. Once there, they faced a Road Block.

['The Amazing Race' - 'Hi. I'm Sorry. I'm in a Race.']
Usually the season finale of 'The Amazing Race' isn't such a nail-biter. In previous seasons, there's always been one team in the finale that makes you scratch your head and wonder how they made it that far, and another team that could've been named the winner a handful of episodes back.
That wasn't the case this season. The three remaining teams were quite evenly matched in skill, although Brook and Claire didn't have the record for winning legs that Jill/Thomas and Nat/Kat had. But, looking at the final three pairs, all deserved their places in the finale. They'd all performed well. So who won?

It's here! It's finally here! The final leg of The Amazing Race! There goes my exclamation point quota. Teams will fly from South Korea to their final destination city: Los Angeles. Really? I guess it's easier to get all the other teams there for the final Pit Stop. I hope everyone ties up at the airport because I don't want anyone (Jill and Thomas) to have an advantage.
Brook and Claire wore their cheetah pants and I couldn't approve more. But we don't know if they're all on the same flight or not; what we do know is that The Amazing Race is going to milk the hell out of that Katy Perry song. Nat and Kat shoot out of the airport in first place, followed by Jill and Thomas then Brook and Claire. It's a real race now!

Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan swears on his passport that season 17's finale, which airs Sunday on CBS, is chock full "memorable and very cool moments." And that's saying a lot considering this season saw a contestant get a runaway watermelon to the face, an on-air proposal, the longest penalty and a team who slept through their pit stop departure time by more than two hours. "It's hard to believe, but this is the first time in our series history that we've ended the race in Los Angeles. Nothing like maneuvering your way to the finish line through L.A.

Last night’s episode of The Amazing Race, “I’m Surrounded by Ninjas” had some fun aspects to it, but because of Nick and Vicki’s huge deficit, was more like the final leg of the Tour de France. Everyone was racing for first place, but no one was worried about being eliminated. Despite the producers best efforts to make it seem that way.
With Nick and Vicki’s easy elimination, we’re left with the final three teams racing for the one million dollar first place prize. Even more interesting is the 66% chance that an all-female team wins The Amazing Race for the first time in seventeen seasons. With little to discuss from last night’s episode, let’s just dive in to a preview of next Sunday’s finale.

The Amazing Race has its final three teams, and they do not include Nick and Vicki, who were left behind and out of the running once they missed a flight. Nick & Vicki have been eliminated from The Amazing Race meaning that Jill & Thomas, Brook & Claire and Nat & Kat will battle for the $$1 million prize in next week's finale. The dating couple were the last team to check-in at the pitstop in South Korea. They had started the leg in Hong Kong with a six-hour penalty and had a speedbump to complete and never managed to make up the time on the other teams. This week's leg saw the remaining four teams traveling 1,300 miles from Hong Kong to Seoul before having to drive themselves to a bridge in the Demilitarized Zone near the North Korean border. Nat & Kat were the first to depart for the airport and thought they had a good chance of making the finale unless they made any "big mistakes". Jill & Thomas were next to leave and also though they were contenders to win although Thomas admitted there...

Must. Restrain. Myself. I was going to write a post about last night's episode of The Amazing Race ("I Hate Chinese Food") but I'm actually still too angry at contestant Nick to think clearly... and at the producers for keeping this buffoon around another week. Quick recap: after shouting at his asthmatic girlfriend Vicki all season, making her do just about every challenge, and managing to avoid elimination several times thanks to Vicki, Nick decides that he's going to take a nap rather than help Vicki look for a boat registration number in the dark, even though he spent several hours sitting in a chair while Vicki gorged on Chinese food and puked her guts out. Nice boyfriend. Nick had given up and wanted to walk off the race when they opted to take the six-hour penalty for not completing a Detour and simply walked onto the mat. It had to be over for them,...

At the beginning of this week’s episode of The Amazing Race titled “I Hate Chinese Food,” Nick admits in an interview that before Vicki he didn’t care about other people’s feelings, but that she has shown him the errors of such an attitude. He continued by tearing up and commenting on what a blessing she has been for him.
Say what?!?!
All we can hope is that interview occurred after this leg. The way it was shown to us suggests that it was a pre-leg interview, but I really hope not. I prefer to see the interview as something that Nick reflected on after a stressful leg and realized what a jerk he was to his amazingly patient girlfriend.
Perhaps I’m giving him too much credit. However, I really don’t want to watch this guy anymore if he said what he did before this leg...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of The Amazing Race, Episode 10.
With Chad and Stephanie being eliminated last week, the ‘domineering boyfriend count’ was cut by 33%, as the final four teams headed to Hong Kong for a predictable non-elimination leg. Would Jill and Thomas be able to maintain their huge lead on the other teams, or would there be another airport equalizer? Why is Brook dancing like a fool? And who’s puking over sushi?
My Random Thoughts:
- I had wondered for the past couple of seasons about the off-leg rest periods, and what happens to the teams. In the past, Phil always methodically told us that they had “a mandatory 12-hour rest period that allows the teams to eat, sleep, and mingle”, but there has been no mention of that for a couple of seasons now, just the times that the teams depart the Pit Stop. Tonight, we heard...

On last night’s episode of The Amazing Race, “There’s a Lot of Nuts and Bullets,” we were introduced to a new twist on the U-Turn: the Double U-Turn. I wasn’t sure what to anticipate when I first heard about the idea, but after watching the episode I’m confident the change to the U-Turn was a good one.
Previously, if one of the trailing teams was U-Turned, that was the end of their race. Ok, so some teams have been U-Turned and not eliminated in the past. However, if only one team was U-Turned last night, that team would have been eliminated. The teams were too tight and they were too few teams for anyone to make up for having to do both ends of the Roadblock. In the case of last night, Brook and Claire would have been sent home.
Fortunately for Brook and Claire lovers...

The Amazing Race has its final four, including two female teams, after a super-intense episode. That dick Chad and his now-fiancee Stephanie were eliminated, thankfully, having gotten lost and falling behind. I will not miss them, not Chad's abusiveness, nor his stupidity ("How's that PhD helping you?" he mocked Nat, and she pointed out later that as a doctor, she has an MD; later, he said, "touche to them," an apparent make-nice concession toward the...

Chad & Stephanie have become the latest team to be eliminated from The Amazing Race. The couple, who became engaged in Oman on last week's episode, had started this week's leg in first place but finished bottom at the pitstop in Bangladesh following a chain of events including a flight to the country evening out the running order and being forced to complete a second detour after being U-Turned by Nat & Kat. This week's leg opened with the teams trying to get to Dhaka, Bangladesh from Oman. They were also pre-warned that they would face a double U-Turn (for the first time in Amazing Race history) at some stage during the leg which stepped up everyone's desire to get to Bangladesh first. Chad & Stephanie were the first to depart and decided that they would U-Turn Nat & Kat if they had the chance. Jill & Thomas were next, followed (more)...

On 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8Pm Et on CBS), Team Kat/Nat were neck-and-neck with Chad and Stephanie. Nat and Kat reached the U-turn first and naturally chose their direct competitors to do the U-turn, forcing Chad and Stephanie to go back and complete the other Detour task. Once they'd carried 100 bricks in a basket on their heads to a shop owner, the couple -- who became engaged in Oman in last week's episode -- were the last team to arrive at the pit stop in Bangladesh. Their amazing race was over.
"Even though we didn't win the million, I still feel like a very, very rich man. I really did get the greatest prize of all," said Chad. "I'm getting to come out of this engaged to a wonderful, wonderful woman." And don't forget about that free trip honeymoon to Belize.

Here is Sean Furfaro 's recap of The Amazing Race, Episode 8.
When I saw last week’s preview of the Double U-Turn coming up in this episode, I braced myself for the invariable whining and complaining from the team that gets U-Turned. As readers of my Amazing Race Recaps from previous seasons may remember, I am a big proponent of using the tools that are available to you to win the game. It’s the same concept as a stolen base in baseball…it’s not unethical or ‘dirty’ to do it, even though the name ‘stolen base’ itself is a connotation of wrongdoing.
In previous seasons, we’ve seen teams get riled up over being U-Turned, but if you’re not willing to use the U-Turn with only 5 teams left in the Race, then you don’t really want to win. As I stated last season when Brent and Caite U-Turned Carol and Brandi,...

Our remaining teams start out flying to Dhaka, Bangladesh. Phil tells us it is the most densely populated city in the world so, naturally, their first clue will be within a big crowded market. Hot, sweaty, fun. In the Sundarban Square Supermarket, they must use a sugar cane press to press out some sugar cane juice for one team member to drink. I wonder what it tastes like? Probably not as good as I think it might.
So, The Amazing Race is debuting the Double U-Turn tonight and Chad and Stephanie want to use it on Nat and Kat (who are starting out last, by the way). Do Stephanie, Vicki, and Jill have some sort of oppressed hairdressers' alliance? It must be working, all three hairdressers are still in the game! Oh, it's because Chad doesn't want to lose to girls.

On this week’s episode of ‘The Amazing Race’, teams departed Russia for the Middle East and raced one of the longest stages in the show’s history.
“The leg was over 16 hours and that’s not even counting the flight,” Mallory, 25 told us exclusively.
As teams got their clues and headed off to make their travel arrangements to Oman, the newly dating Chad and Stephanie were accidentally sound asleep in their hotel room, clueless they had missed their “Pit Start” time. The lovebirds started a full two hours late but got a lucky break when they caught a flight just ten minutes behind the other teams.
“That’s the only leg of the race where they could have gotten away with that,” says Mallory.
Once the teams arrived in Oman, they were almost neck-and-neck but had to wait their turn to climb up a tower to fetch their next clue.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Or, as I like to say, if the story was a movie, no one would believe it because it’s so improbable.
Isn’t that kind of the case with Chad and Stephanie getting engaged and winning the eighth leg of The Amazing Race on the same day? If The Amazing Race was not a reality television show, we would roll our eyes and waive our hands because it was a lame ending. But, this is reality television and despite some deserved skepticism about how “reality” these shows are sometimes, we’re constantly reassured that nothing is manufactured.
Certainly the moment wasn’t manufactured. There’s almost no way for the producers to get Jill and Thomas to illegally pay a cab to let them follow it to the Pit Stop. However, I’m a bit skeptical about how the editing process went to...

Gary & Mallory have become the latest team to be eliminated from The Amazing Race. The father-and-daughter duo finished bottom at the pitstop in Oman on Sunday night after struggling with directions en route to the first challenge and never managing to make up the time. Nevertheless, the pair said they were "proud" to have shared the experience and enjoyed their time together. The episode had opened as the teams were told to fly more than 4,000 miles from St. Petersburg to Muscat, Oman and find a man who was holding tokens. They immediately headed to a nearby ticket office where Nat & Kat and Brook & Claire nabbed seats on the first flight to Oman, while Gary & Mallory, Jill & Thomas and Nick & Vicki booked a flight that landed two hours later. Chad & Stephanie were missing at this point having missed their pitstart time because they had slept (more)...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of The Amazing Race, Episode 8.
Last week I pointed out that Nick and Vicki were not forced to do a Speed Bump. One of the commenters here explained that the reason this happened is because the previous week, in the Piano Detour, apparently they gave the correct answer but were told it was wrong. So they ended up being last, even though they should have arrived at the mat much earlier.
While I understand the logic, I think that it was inexcusable that CBS did not offer an explanation for this situation instead of assuming they could sneak this by their loyal, regular viewers. This was all anyone was talking about last week, and it’s insulting that it wasn’t addressed on the show.
For this week’s episode, the teams were off to Oman. Would the long-awaited proposal from Meathead Chad finally happen?...

In the middle of the Detour task Nat and Kat selected, Nat said "it's like painting by numbers but with accordions." This episode of The Amazing Race was similar: familiar elements, lots of screw-ups, nothing special. The best part was the suspenseful ending: Chad and Stephanie checked in before Michael and Kevin, but were told by Phil they had to go get their bags and pay their cab driver first. Kevin and Michael showed up,...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of The Amazing Race, Episode 7.
Last week’s episode of the Amazing Race featured no real progression in the Race itself since it was a non-elimination leg. Essentially Chad got frustrated at Stephanie, Thomas was condescending to Jill, and Nick and Vicki sucked at anything and everything they tried. Sounds like every other episode so far this season. What would the second leg in St. Petersburg bring?
My Random Thoughts:
- Jill and Thomas started the leg out in first place, and on the obligatory ‘Leaders talking about their great teamwork’ on-camera confessional: Jill declared that “Our main issue is Thomas talking at me and not to me”, while Thomas explained “We work very well together. I hope that continues.“ Yep, they sound like they’re on the same page.
- Brook and Claire opened their clue to find that they were heading off to the circus,...

Since this is my first Amazing Race post on Spoiler TV, let me take a minute to give you some background. My name is Sean Furfaro and I've been writing a blog for just over 2 years. It's called Sean's Random Thoughts, and some of you may recognize that name from the Lost recaps I did during the sixth season, which were featured on DarkUFO. I am presently recapping the current seasons of Survivor and The Amazing Race, and my recaps will be up within 30 minutes of when the show finishes airing on the East Coast. I hope you enjoy them. (Feel free to head to the site to catch up on the recaps for earlier episodes.)
With all of the sheep-head eating completed (presumably) for this season, the Amazing Racers found themselves on the way to St. Petersburg, Russia. In this “city full of culture”, why are the teams dealing...

Last week, I ripped episode five of The Amazing Race, calling it boring and too controlled. I pined for the days of multiple forms of travel, difficult challenges and frequent changes to the race standings.
Apparently all I needed to do was ask for a return to the more interesting days of The Amazing Race’s past and we would get that. This week we were treated to a difficult leg filled with drama, second guesses and a dynamic feel to the entire episode. I joked that “Tastes Like a Million Dollars” would not be sent to the Emmy committee.
If “Run Babushka, Run” were submitted for judgment, The Amazing Race would retake the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition from Top Chef.
My favorite aspect of this week was the Detour. Two very difficult choices, but each could be completed quickly. Classic Cinema could have...

In the fifth episode of The Amazing Race 17 and a somewhat simple leg of the race, team positions barely changed and beach volleyball partners Katie and Rachel both started and ended in last place.
Shown on last week, four teams were able to make an earlier flight from Ghana to Sweden, securing them the top spots. That advantage carried over to this stage since there wasn’t much travel involved, making it near impossible for the other teams to pick up any ground.
“If we had gotten on that first plane, we would have been positioned great” says Rachel. “This leg was a straightforward race.”
Starting in first place, Nat and Kat were able to use the season’s first Fast Forward, allowing them to do a special challenge and after completion could go straight to the pit-stop. The challenge had the doctors eating a cooked sheep’s head, a Norwegian Christmas tradition,...

Somewhere after the less than spectacular family edition of The Amazing Race (season 8) the show has become more controlled. Gone are the days of the specific twelve hour rest period at the Pit Stop. No longer do we see teams with one or two hour leads on the competition.
Most of the time the result of these changes has been that teams are bunched closer together making for more drama on the final race to the Pit Stop. What is also possible is what we witnessed last night on “Tastes Like A Million Dollars,” a leg where virtually nothing happens.
During the early seasons the legs were longer and more stretched out. Navigation played a much bigger role in each leg. This created two scenarios. First, if a team had a lead and avoided mistakes, it was very difficult to catch them. The second, however, was that if a team made a mistake,...
