Finally, a Bill We Can All Agree On: House, Senate Want You to Have More Legroom on Your Next Flight

Lawmakers are attempting to make flights safer and more comfortable for passengers.
A new bipartisan bill introduced in the House and Senate calls for a minimum airplane seat width as well as a minimum distance between rows.
If passed, the Seat Act of 2017 would assign the Federal Aviation Administration with the responsibility of setting these limits. Airlines would be required to prominently display planes’ seat size and legroom on their websites.
“Airline passengers are tired of being squeezed,” said Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Ten.), who introduced the bill, in a press release on Thursday.

Donald Trump‘s inauguration won’t be a star-studded affair on Friday — and it’s shaping up to be skippable by many politicians as well.
Though he won the Electoral College by 306 votes to Hillary Clinton’s 236, he’s starting off his presidency with the lowest approval rate in decades — just 40 percent, according to a CNN/Orc survey. (Before he took office in early 2009, Barack Obama’s approval rating was 84 percent, according to the same survey.)
That disapproval has seeped into the Capitol, with 51 members of Congress (at current count) abstaining from Trump’s inauguration and the following festivities.
Most notable is Rep.

Last week Megyn Kelly notably pushed back when guest Richard Socarides claimed that Fox News opinion media types were guilty of making similar sort of Nazi references that Rep. Steve Cohen (D-tn) made on the house floor earlier last week. Tonight Jon Stewart challenged his production staff to find evidence of Nazi references on Fox News within 24 hours of Kelly's comments and the results were not pretty. (Funny though!)...

Earlier this week, Rep. Steve Cohen took to the House floor and claimed that his Republican congressional counterparts were repeating lies about heath care in a similar fashion to the Nazi's in Germany. It was a regrettable moment, except for Cohen, who has repeatedly stuck to his words. Last night, Jon Stewart rhetorically asked of Cohen "If you're point is to say that they are lying, why do you have to go Nazi on them?"...
