Jason Maybaum really sucked on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” — and I mean that as a compliment. On Halloween Night he played a vampire for his Argentine tango to (appropriately) “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer, and it turned out to be a blood-sucking breakthrough for the Disney Channel star. Watch his performance above.
Maybaum didn’t have the most promising start when the season started. He received a score of 18 out of 30 for his opening night cha cha, which placed him 10th out of 12 contestants on the judges’ leaderboard. The only celebs who scored lower — Addison Osta Smith and Tripp Johnston — were both eliminated from the competition that night, so Maybaum may have just barely dodged that bullet. But since then he has been steadily creeping up in his scores.

Disney Night has become a tradition on “Dancing with the Stars,” but this season it has expanded to a two-night affair. The top nine child celebrities performed Disney-inspired routines on “DWTS: Juniors” on Sunday night, and the grownups will do the same in Monday’s episode of the original series. Disney is known for its family films, which makes it a perfect fit for “Juniors.” So how did the kids do? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The first two weeks of the competition quickly cut the roster from 12 contestants to 9. Tripp Johnston and Addison Osta Smith had the lowest judges’ scores in week one and were both eliminated after the studio audience votes were factored in. But week two ended in a surprise: “General Hospital” actor Hudson West got the boot even though he had one of the night’s higher scores.

There’s usually a “Dancing with the Stars” contestant every season who coasts on fan support despite lower judges’ scores. Alana Thompson might turn out to be that contestant in the inaugural season of “DWTS: Juniors.” The artist formerly known as Honey Boo Boo got the bottom score on Sunday night when the celebs danced to songs from the years they were born, but she survived elimination after studio audience votes were factored in. Did she deserve that reprieve? Watch her performance above and decide for yourself.
Thompson and her pro partner Tristan Ianiero danced to a hit song from her birth year, “Don’t Cha” by Pussycat Dolls (2005). Judge Adam Rippon said, “You come out here, and you own it,” though he also pointed out a moment during the routine “when you were walking around like you were at the mall.” Val Chmerkovskiy was “proud” of the performance and...

Twelve young couples took to the floor for the first episode of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” but only 10 of them made it out of premiere night. So now that you’ve seen what the contestants have to offer, who will make it all the way and who was cut down in the second week of competition? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute updates as the night progresses.
Two kid celebs were eliminated in week one: political scion Tripp Johnston (grandson of Sarah Palin) and “MasterChef Junior” champ Addison Osta Smith. Those results were half-determined by the votes of the studio audience, but Smith and Johnston were also the lowest scorers on the judges’ leaderboard, so fans in the stands may have been influenced by the input of panelists Mandy Moore, Val Chmerkovskiy and Adam Rippon.

Will Honey Boo Boo go bye-bye on ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’? See where she stands in our odds
Alana Thompson came into the debut season of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” as one of its best known celebs since she was already a reality star. She’s better known as Honey Boo Boo from the TLC series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which was spun off from the network’s “Toddlers and Tiaras.” But that didn’t help her too much with the judges, and now our users think she’ll be eliminated in week two of the competition on Sunday night, October 14.
Our predictions are based on the combined forecasts of Gold Derby users who have entered their picks in our predictions center, and they give Thompson leading odds of 19/5 of being ousted from the competition. In the premiere episode she performed a salsa with her pint-sized pro partner Tristan Ianiero, and judges Val Chmerkovskiy, Mandy Moore and Adam Rippon loved her spirit, but Chmerkovskiy thought she...

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” made its grand debut on Sunday night, October 7. The new series is spun off from the grown-up “Dancing with the Stars,” which has been on the air since 2005 and whose 27th season is currently underway. So how did “Juniors” compare to the mothership series, and how did these talented tykes compare to their adult counterparts? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
Perhaps the biggest difference between the old show and the new is that “Juniors” has been taped in advance instead of airing live like the original series. That means fan votes won’t come into play for “Juniors” the way they do on the main series. So the kids had better be alright on the dance floor in order to impress the judges.

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” kicks off its run on ABC on Sunday, October 7 with a two-hour premiere beginning at 8 p.m. in the east and west and 7 p.m. in the central and mountain time zones. This special version of “DWTS” will run for a full 10 weeks just like the main show. However, the rest of the episodes will only be an hour long and all of them will be pre-taped.
Among those talented tykes taking to the dance floor are “black-ish” scene stealer Miles Brown; reality TV star Honey Boo Boo (her real name is Alana Thompson); and Ariana Greenblatt of the Disney TV hit “Stuck In The Middle.”
These pint-sized celebrities are paired with professional dancers who are around their age as well. Among these are relatives of some of the “DWTS” pros who will be acting as mentors on this version, including Lindsay Arnold (her younger...

There's a new teen mom in town! According to multiple outlets, none other than Bristol Palin is set to join the cast of MTV's Teen Mom Og for season 8. The casting announcement comes on the heels of Farrah Abraham's contentious departure from the long-running reality TV series. The 27-year-old gave birth to 9-year-old son Tripp Johnston at the age of 17, and has since welcomed 2-year-old daughter Sailor Meyer and 1-year-old daughter Atlee Meyer. In February,...

Bristol Palin has obtained a temporary restraining order against a 39-year-old Texan man for allegedly stalking her.
TMZ reports that the daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was granted temporary protection from Michael Cummings, who, according to court documents, sent her an engagement ring in the mail with the note "I (heart) you." Cummings also allegedly showed up to a birthday party Bristol held for son Tripp at her mother's house on Dec. 27.
A court hearing set for later this month will determine whether the restraining order will be made permanent. The website points out that Cummings' own mother had called the police in Bristol's town to warn them about a visit from her "unstable" son.
Bristol appeared as a contestant on Season 11 of "Dancing With the Stars" in 2010, and again last fall on "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars." In October, the show received a suspicious package aimed at Bristol.

Palin, who has a 4-year-old son Tripp with ex-fiance Levi Johnston, started off the all-star season with a bang, debuting her slimmed-down body for the first time.
"I'm definitely in better shape than I was last time, definitely. I'm just more active and I cut all the crap out of my diet! It's that simple," she told Us Weekly in September. "And my kid's a lot more rowdy, a lot more active. I'm running after him a lot! He's huge! He thinks he's a teenager already."

Bristol Palin, cash–strapped?
The two-time "Dancing With the Stars" alum posted an ad on Craigslist to sell her 2010 Dodge Challenger. The Alaska-native even included a picture of her and son Tripp standing in front of the car as proof of legitimacy.
"Faithful readers know I love Craigslist!! So, when it came time to sell my car, that's exactly where I went! Here's the information about my car," she wrote on her website.
The Craigslist ad states the 2010 Dodge Challenger listed for $27,500 has “not one scratch or ding” and has 14,510 miles on it.
So what doesn't the car come with? According to Bristol, the "cute boy in above photo" is not included (Phew!).
Perhaps the sale of the car will help offset the missing child support checks she is reportedly waiting for.
Good luck, Bristol!

Sad news for Mama Grizzlies everywhere: Levi Johnston is a married man. Bristol Palin's ex-fiancé said "I do" Sunday evening to Sunny Oglesby in Alaska, E! News has confirmed. "Congrats to my Brother Levi and his lovely bride Sunny," Johnston's sister, Mercede, tweeted, and proceeded to post photos of the groom and new sister-in-law. The couple reportedly tied the knot in front of over 100 close friends and family members. Levi and Sunny, a 20-year-old teacher, welcomed daughter Breeze Beretta, named after the firearm, in September. Levi, 22, also has a 4-year-old son, Tripp, from his relationship with Bristol. Happy 22nd birthday, Bristol Palin! It might not be the happiest of birthdays for the conservative babe as she was just eliminated Tuesday night from Dancing With the Stars: All Stars, but that doesn't mean we can't send the reality star some well wishes! Prior to her DWTS boot, the daughter of the former vice presidential candidate was busy ballroom dancing on the boob tube, stirring up controversy on the All Stars shows and butting heads with partner Mark Ballas. From Saddle Ranch showdowns to plastic surgery speculation, the mother to 3-year-old Tripp has endured her fair share of backlash throughout her years in Hollywood. But luckily, the reality star can always count on her "mama...

She may have won an Emmy, but Julianne Moore's portrayal of Sarah Palin gets a big thumbs down from one critic. "I don't think she's a good interpreter of my mom. I think my mom is way hotter than that," Sarah's daughter Bristol Palin, 21, tells E! News about Moore, who channeled the former Alaska governor in HBO's Game Change. "I think she doesn't have that accent. It's kind of silly, but my mom's awesome." Bristol, who stars on Lifetime's reality show Life's a Tripp (so named for her 3-year-old son Tripp), is back in the ballroom for the all-star Dancing with the Stars season,...

As Bristol Palin gears up to return to the dance floor on "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars," her ex Levi Johnston is making news with the birth of his new baby girl, Breeze Beretta. And Palin has nothing but nice things to say about it.
"I don't talk to him much, but I just sent him some flowers from Tripp because that is Tripp's little half-sibling and I just want the best for them," Palin told Access Hollywood.
Palin and Johnston's son Tripp turns four in December, and he remains her top priority: "I want [Tripp] to have a relationship with anyone who's going to be a good, positive influence on his life," she says.
She's rehearsing for the new season of "Dancing" in Phoenix instead of Los Angeles, partly to be in a more "family-friendly environment" for Tripp. And Palin remains conscious of spending as much time with him as she can.

Bristol Palin said Saturday that she is "praying for" Paul Ryan and his family following Mitt Romney's decision to tap the congressman as his running mate.
Hours after Romney introduced the Wisconsin congressman as his vice presidential pick, Palin urged her readers to "pause" before passing judgment on Romney's choice.
"Don't write a word, don't make a snap judgment, don't critique the VP choice, don't exult in its brilliance," Palin wrote in a blog entry. "Just take a moment and realize that whomever is chosen, he is a person about to go through an ordeal that few people will ever experience."
Palin, of course, witnessed the "ordeal" firsthand when her mother Sarah Palin was chosen as John McCain's running mate in 2008, exposing her family to intense scrutiny. Bristol Palin, then a high school senior, was pregnant with her son Tripp during her mother's vice presidential bid.

That was fast! After bringing in not-so-great ratings last week, Bristol Palin's reality show Life's a Tripp is getting a boot from the primetime slot and will instead grace your television screens at a new, later time. News that Palin's reality show will now air at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays, an hour later than before, and Lifetime will show repeats of Dance Moms instead. Bristol Palin's Lifetime reality show is on the move. According to The Futon Critic, "Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp" has been bumped to 11 p.m. Et. It will be replaced in the Tuesday 10 p.m. timeslot by "Dance Moms" reruns.
"Life's A Tripp" has been a ratings disappointment for Lifetime. The premiere of "Life's A Tripp" attracted 726,000 viewers on June 19. Its lead-in, "Dance Moms," had approximately a million more viewers that night. The next week, only 506,000 viewers watched back-to-back episodes of Palin's reality show, according to The Futon Critic.
The move comes as "Life's A Tripp" is the subject of two lawsuits. Prior to the show's premiere, Lifetime and Palin were slapped with a lawsuit by Stephen Banks, a heckler Palin confronted on camera in the first episode. Banks accused Palin of defamation and claimed that he didn't allow Lifetime to film him.

After a disastrous premiere -- the show scored only 726,000 viewers -- Bristol Palin is going to have to mount a tremendous comeback if she wants to last long with "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on Lifetime). It's certainly a far cry from the heights the Palin family saw with "Sarah Palin's Alaska," or even Bristol's polarizing turn on "Dancing With the Stars."
Still, those who did tune in have found Bristol keeping it surprisingly real about the challenges of being a young, single mother.
This week, she opened up to her sister Willow about how she wished that Tripp's father Levi Johnston were a part of his life; so long as he would be a positive influence. She shared the heartbreak of hearing her son ask her to buy him a dad.
