The season of the very first sign of the zodiac is here, and that’s exactly why being a leader comes so easy for Aries folks.
And that’s no joke, Aries really don’t know what else to be but a boss, CEO or innovator, because they’d rather play by their own rules. They march to the beat of their own drum and rarely ever need anyone to play backup instrumentals. Their charm, playful personality and great sense of humor make up for their impulsiveness and sometimes hot-temper, and there’s absolutely no other sign who will keep it all the way real with you like an Aries does, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear. They tell it like it is, as dishonesty goes against their entire m.o.

“Gang shit, I invented that, huh?” asks Schoolboy Q on “Pop,” a track from Blue Lips, his first album in nearly five years. It’s clearly an overstatement. But give the former Hoover Street Crip credit: Back in the early 2010s, he fused the open-eared, genre-less sensibility of Tumblr rap with vintage L.A. gangsta flows in classic moments like “Hands on the Wheel” and “Druggys Wit Hoes Again.” Along with Vince Staples, Boogie and others, Q marked a clear break from the city’s G-funk identity, even as he...

When the MTV Video Music Awards announced its nominations last month, no one was surprised when Taylor Swift and Sza were the top contenders. But heads turned when Sza’s name was missing from the artist of the year category after the star launched one of the year’s top albums with Sos, both a critical and commercial success.
“Obviously, she had one of the best years, if not the best year, of any artist at this point. I don’t see why she wouldn’t be nominated for artist of the year. It just really didn’t make any sense to me. It’s disrespectful,” Sza’s manager, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview.
Those nominated for artist of the year included Beyoncé, Shakira, Nicki Minaj, Karol G, Doja Cat and Swift, who won the prize at Tuesday night’s show.

Jay Rock has dropped a fast-paced new single, “Too Fast (Pull Over),” which features Anderson .Paak and Latto. The trio released the Mustard-produced song along with a music video that sees the rappers enjoying a raucous pool party.
On the track, Rock raps, “Send a stepper up the stairway to heaven, I’m a vet/ Put up a pole dancer in a Mercedes.” In the video, he mirrors the lyrics by showing up to the party in a red Mercedes SUV equipped with a stripper pole (and a stripper) on the roof.

ThankGod4Cody didn't anticipate how Sza's era-defining "Ctrl" album would completely change his life in 2017 - but he also didn't foresee waiting five years to get the call to work on her next album, "Sos." The 31-year-old Grammy-nominated producer, born Cody Jordan Fayne, caught a major break with his contributions to "Ctrl" - "Love Galore," Broken Clocks," "The Weekend," and "Wavy (Interlude)" - some of which are the biggest records on Sza's debut album. But it took years for him to find himself back in the studio with the R&b sensation to cook up her next musical masterpiece.
"Never in my life did I expect for the next one to be that long," Fayne tells Popsugar of the years-long wait for "Sos." "I didn't prep for that in the post time of 'Ctrl.' I wasn't pressed to work with people. I'm thinking, yo,...

Wakanda Forever! After the tragic passing of star Chadwick Boseman forced Marvel Studios and director Ryan Coogler to rethink their approach for a sequel to 2018’s smash hit, Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters this weekend. The long-awaited sequel will double as both the latest entry in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and as a tribute to the late Boseman.

Working in the Carson, California, studio from which Top Dawg Entertainment was launched has become something of a rite of passage for new artists on the label. After building the studio in the back of his unassuming suburban home around 2004, founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith rounded up four of the most-talented MCs in the L.A. area — Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul — and brought out the best in them. Nearly two decades later, Tde’s first female rapper found herself in the wood-paneled, windowless cave known as the House of Pain.

Lil Wayne is honoring Kobe Bryant in the most special way. On Friday, the "A Milli" rapper released his latest studio album Funeral and paid tribute to the fallen athlete, who passed away on Sunday in a fatal helicopter crash, with his song "Bing James" featuring Jay Rock. For the track's outro, the Lakers superfan left a 24-second-long silence to honor the NBA superstar's number when he played for the L.A. Lakers. In addition to the moment of silence, Lil Wayne's lyrics also reference his favorite basketball team by calling out their signature uniform colors: "Yellow pill, purple drank." This isn't the only way the "6 Foot 7 Foot" rapper has honored...

Wherever they are together, it's definitely the good place. Jameela Jamil and James Blake put their love on display at the 2019 Grammys, and while the fake goldfish in the actress's earrings definitely knew what was up, their relationship caught many people by surprise. After James won best rap performance at the award show for his work on "King's Dead" with Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, and Future, Jameela was right by his side supporting him and there's no better time to celebrate their love than fresh off of his exciting win.
While it's unknown how the musician and The Good Place actress met, their relationship has been going strong since 2015. In 2016, James spoke vaguely about their bond in an interview with Time Out and how she inspired him with his music at that time. "In terms of becoming more open, I guess I had help just by meeting somebody who was...

Camila Cabello opened the Grammy Awards from the inside of a brownstone reimagined as a colorful dollhouse. She shifted through the rooms before taking to the “street,” where she ran into J Balvin reading a paper with the headline “Build Bridges Not Walls.”
Young Thug joined to perform a verse as Cabello nimbly danced throughout the street. Soon, the opening act turned into a medley of Latin pop superstars: Ricky Martin joined to belt alongside Cabello as Arturo Sandoval played on his trumpet before J Balvin did a bit of his smash hit “Mi Gente.

J. Cole traverses the landscape of his musical world, looking at the past, present and the future, while asserting his own standing within the rap pantheon in his new song “Middle Child.” The track is the first official single J. Cole has released since 2013.
Produced by T-Minus, J. Cole’s loquacious bars glide over the percolating beats and horn melodies. After calling out those who have been “counting me out,” he encourages others that are on the come-up. “I’m glad that you came/I hope that you scrape every dollar you can.

Kendrick Lamar still hasn’t won a Grammy in the general field, but he has been virtually unbeatable in rap categories. Will he continue his reign in the race for Best Rap Performance with “King’s Dead,” his collaboration with Jay Rock, Future and James Blake? This may be his toughest challenge given the level of his competitors this year.
“King’s Dead” was featured on the “Black Panther” soundtrack, for which Lamar is nominated for Album of the Year. It wasn’t the biggest hit from the album — it peaked at number-21 on the Billboard Hot 100, which makes it one of the lowest charting in this especially jam-packed category. But Lamar has been nominated four times before in this race and won three of them.

The Best Rap Album category at the Grammys has an odd history. It tends to reward the same artists again and again: Since 2000, Eminem has won a ridiculous six times, while Kanye West took home the trophy at four separate ceremonies, and Kendrick Lamar has already won three more. In addition, the nominating pool tends to include the rappers who enjoy the most commercial success — Drake (5 nominations since 2011), Jay-z (3), Nicki Minaj (2). This means there isn’t much room left for new artists, especially if they don’t have a platinum plaque.
