While they are best known for their “songifications” of the latest news stories, The Gregory Brothers also have plenty of other creative aspirations, and the latest piece of content they have hosted on YouTube might be the oddest project they’ve worked out to date. They are the co-executive producers of The Adventures of Nunchuck Larry, a strange homage to kung fu movies of the 70s and 80s that is produced by Portal A.
In the Nunchuck Larry pilot, which premiered at VidCon and is available on The Gregory Brothers’ secondary channel, we meet the titular martial artist, who is portrayed by Stevin Espinosa. Larry is out to avenge the death of his friend Serge at the hands of an android, and as he embarks on that journey, he runs into several YouTube stars of note. Shameless Maya portrays his love interest, Flula Borg shows up as a guy who plays lawn darts,...

Last year at the Sundance Film Festival, YouTube hosted a three-day Creators Intensive -- a storytelling workshop attended by 10 influencers including Anna Akana, The Gregory Brothers, and sWooZie to develop new programming for a possible first-look deal. Writers Mara Brock Akil, Aline Brosh McKenna, and Stephen Falk served as mentors at the Intensive, which took place at both Sundance and the YouTube Space L.A.
Now, YouTube has announced development deals for four of the series that emerged from the Creators Intensive, according to The Hollywood Reporter, including shows from Akana, Devin 'Supertramp' Graham, Jasmeet Singh, and comedy duo Allison Raskin and Gaby Dunn of the popular channel Just Between Us. The series, if picked up, would debut exclusively on $10 monthly subscription service YouTube Red.

The Gregory Brothers are four members of YouTube’s old guard, but despite the fact that they’ve been making videos for a long time, Andrew, Michael, Sarah, and Evan Gregory are still innovating. Their latest show is Song Voyage, in which they travel the world and make music with local artists.
Across six episodes, Song Voyage follows The Gregory Brothers as they travel to countries like Mongolia, Japan, and Australia. Each episode chronicles a single stop on the journey, and in each nation they visit, The Gregory Bros will conspire with locals to go on adventures, achieve inspiration, and write melodious music. Based on the series’ trailer, it looks like a musical twist on an Anthony Bourdain show.

With the third and final presidential debate behind us, we as a nation must turn to the only person who can restore our faith in America: “Weird” Al Yankovic. The comedic songwriter has released a new song featuring auto-tuned comments made by both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump at Wednesday’s debate. Yankovic was joined by The Gregory Brothers, who are known for their “Songify the News” videos. All the highlights from the debate make it into the video, like Trump’s “nasty woman” and “bad hombres” comments. Likewise for Clinton bad-mouthing Russian President Vladimir Putin and saying that Trump would be his.

Four-time Grammy-award winning comedy singer “Weird Al” Yankovic currently stars in Disney Xd’s latest animated series “Milo Murphy’s Law,” from the creators of popular kid series’ “Phineas and Ferb,” but when he’s not entertaining children with his voice talent, he’s helping The Gregory Brothers “songify” the news. In honor of the latest presidential debate, The Gregory Brothers and “Weird Al” have released the song “Bad Hombres, Nasty Women,” which takes snippets of Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s answers and turns them into a fun new song. Watch it below.

For creators like The Gregory Brothers, placing one mouth on top of another in a YouTube video is a common process. Now, thanks to a new piece of technology, that routine could soon become much simpler. A team of researchers from Stanford University, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and the Max Planck Institute for Informatics have published a paper that discusses Face2Face, a program that allows its users to capture their facial expressions with a webcam and transpose them onto the face of someone in a YouTube video -- all in real time.
Face2Face is hard to describe with words, but the video introducing it is as clear as it is hard to believe. Check it out for yourself:
As a consumer product, Face2Face would potentially have a vast number of uses for video creators. It would improve the quality and accuracy of dubbed videos on YouTube, open up...

First Lady Michelle Obama wants Americans to attend college, and in order to push this initiative, she has turned to the world of online video. For her latest collaboration with a digital brand, she has joined forces with CollegeHumor to star in a rap video about higher education.
The music in CollegeHumor’s “Go To College Music Video” was written by The Gregory Brothers and performed by Saturday Night Live’s Jay Pharaoh and the First Lady. The video itself features plenty of unsubtle overtures to young viewers (such as emoji-esque pictures that appear among the song’s lyrics), and Flotus raps exactly as well as you would expect a 51-year-old mom to rap, but the message itself is honest and true.
Mrs. Obama, like her husband, has used the power of the Internet to further her pet campaigns. As part of her Reach Higher program, she talked with YouTube star Tyler Oakley about college.
