- Although Blandine is a native of France, more specifically from Bordeaux, she doesn't like onions, mushrooms nor red wine. People who know her often wonder if she really is French. PS: Her sense of humor is international.
In 1996 Blandine, who had been into sports all her life and was dedicated to it, injured herself and had to stop every sport for an entire year. During that year, she discovered TV and cinema (got fat in the process), falling in love with behind the scene footage that she could find on DVD bonuses. That's when she decided to pursue a career behind the camera.
After years of rejections and misinformation -
In 2010, Blandine gave a chance to London, managed to get a job as an extra on movie Hugo from Martin Scorsese, where her career in this industry finally took off. She made the right contacts and since she had a very strong logistics background, from there started going up the AD (Assistant Director) ladder. Since then she has been involved with all sizes of projects from commercials to TV shows to Low Budget feature to blockbusters. As much as she loves her job, screenwriting and now producing hangs in the back of her mind.
Fast forward to 2018, Blandine decides to create her production company (Dare To Be Different Productions) with the purpose of doing things differently by focusing as much on the cast and crew than on the movie. Some of the intentions of DTBD prod is to give the cast & crew access to childcare, salary parity, a quiet room with hammocks and sofas to relax, trainee programs, enhancing the employment of women as part of the crew and plenty more. Her first feature is called "Unfair", a screenplay she wrote while attending UCLA, and she already has a line up of screenplays to follow, from her and from other writers.
