The French Government made her a Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole. This award was given for her work in promoting French cuisine around the world. A Chevalier is the highest and most coveted honour a French Chef can achieve.

Began her career in journalism before turning to food, studying at the Dubrulle Culinary Institute in Vancouver, Canada, and at Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in France.
