Marcella Jacques is the co-founder and partner of Juliana Antunes and Laura Godoy at VENTURA, a film company based in Belo Horizonte (Brazil), which focuses on projects of female filmmakers. Their first feature film, Baronesa, was exhibited in almost 100 festivals around the world and won many prizes, such as Best Film in IndieLisboa, Havana Festival, FIC Valdívia, Doc Montevideo and Best Film for Audience in FiDMarseille.
Marcella graduated in Social Communication and has been working in the audiovisual market since 2004, with great experience in manager and executive production. She has participated in more than 30 projects, including features, short films and TV series. In 2018, she was selected to Berlinale Talents in Berlin.
She's producing and developments other projects by VENTURA: Bate e Volta Copacabana (Hit and Back Copacabana), a fiction, next film directed by Juliana Antunes; Welles in the Silent Land (creative documentary), by Laura Godoy; Empty Orchestra (animation stop-motion feature), by Maria Leite, besides the TV series Periferic Women (doc), also by Juliana Antunes.
