L. R. Raven is an American born (international) actor,
composer, writer, bronze sculptor and oil painter. As an actor
(theater, television and film), he is renowned for his ability to
combine both drama and empathy into a disarming charm. As a composer,
his music's character ranges between a dark atmospheric sound-scape and
a longing for the nostalgia of an antiquarian period.
Born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. Born into a family of musicians and visual artists, it was here he discovered his affinity for writing music, poetry and drawing.
High school is where he discovered the plays of William Shakespeare from which would ultimately transform his life's calling into a love of acting.
After graduating High School, L. R. Raven attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), where he excelled in bronze casting/sculpture and oil painting, receiving his BFA in sculpture and painting. As a sculptor and painter, his visual art (contains elements and influences) of the philosophical and mystical undercurrents of a William Blake, the vivid colors and emotional impact of a Vincent van Gogh, and the challenging of an observers' preconditioned perceptions of reality of a René Magritte.
After graduating MIAD, he decided to finally pursue the calling of acting. "If I don't do it now, I never will," he said.
This led him to write a letter to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) requesting an audition. The audition would lead to an invitation to attend RADA, where he studied and excelled at the performing the works of William Shakespeare.
Now resides in Hollywood, California, pursuing that career in film and television.
