‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ Gets a Dark Coming-of-Age Horror Series From the Creators of ‘Riverdale’
Following the success of the deliciously dark “Archie” adaptation, “Riverdale,” the CW will continue its collaboration with Archie Comics to deliver “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” a horror-flecked coming-of-age tale for the teenage witch. The new series will be led by powerhouse TV producer Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Dawson’s Creek”) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasta, Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics.
Per the official synopsis: “‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ reimagines the origin and adventures of ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ and ‘The Exorcist,’ this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.”

Alright, so recently the producer of CW’s hit drama series “Riverdale” Roberto Aguirre Sacasa revealed what the title will be for the new episode 8 of the upcoming 2nd season. He did so on his official Twitter account. It sounds pretty freaking scary too especially for Veronica and Archie! The 8th episode is titled, “Chapter 21: House Of The Devil.” It was written by Yolanda Lawrence. He captioned the title tease with the following words: “Uh-oh. Now it’s #Archie and #Veronica’s turn to enter #Riverdale’s…House of the Devil!! Will #Varchie survive?” We’re asking ourselves that same question. Unfortunately, we don’t have any other details other than what Roberto teased in that tweet. It sounds like Veronica and Archie could be headed for some major danger in this one. I know I would personally pass on an invite to the “House Of The Devil.” But,...

According to recent report from Screenrant, the titles for the upcoming Riverdale season 2 episodes 6 and 7 have been revealed! They sound really dark too. Apparently, episode 6 is going to be called, “Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof.” Then the title for episode 7 is labeled, “Chapter Twenty: Tales From The Darkside.” The producer of the show Roberto Aguirre Sacasa recently hit up his official Twitter account to tease that something very dark will happen for three of the main characters in episode 7. He wrote, “This is one of my Favorite scripts for #Riverdale so far… But it won’t be for Jughead, Josie, and Betty…” Judging from that statement, It sounds like we’re going to see Jughead, Josie and Betty possibly get themselves into a very sticky situation. You guys can see Sacasa’s tweet by Clicking Here. As previously reported, Sacasa recently revealed that a new dark villain is going to show up at some point.

In his final screen role Robin Williams plays a closeted bank worker coyly in love with a young street hustler
In the latter stretch of his career, the late Robin Williams developed a line in variously dark, disturbed or agonised roles, a sort of extended penance for playing universal Care Bear in glutinous gunk like Patch Adams. Written by Douglas Soesbe and directed by Dito Montiel – briefly a biggish Us indie name with A Guide to Recognising Your Saints – Boulevard casts him as Nolan, a closeted bank worker who falls platonically but helplessly for a young street hustler (Roberto Aguire). It’s a lugubrious, creaky affair, as Williams squishes up his face and droops his shoulders with a coyness that can be downright embarrassing. Boulevard comes alive, however, when the formidable Kathy Baker – one of Hollywood’s most perpetually underrated – gets her scenes as Nolan’s wife Joy. This was Williams’s last onscreen role,...

Williams gives a curiously opaque performance in this story of a married 60-year-old confronting his long-closeted homosexuality
This was the last feature film role for the late Robin Williams, so his performance tends to draw our focus. Williams plays Nolan, a married 60-year-old forced to confront his long-closeted homosexuality when he strikes up a naive platonic friendship with a young hustler called Leo (Roberto Aguire). But it’s a curiously opaque performance – all we learn about Nolan is revealed in a chunk of convenient exposition at the end of the second act. There’s no emotional eloquence. This is highlighted in the scenes Williams shares with Kathy Baker, who plays Joy, his wife. Every prickle of doubt, every subtle dig of jealousy plays out in her eyes. It’s fair to say she comprehensively out-acts her co-star in every scene. The film takes a familiar premise – both Eastern Boys and...

I miss Robin Williams, Lord I how I miss that man. I will never forget hearing that he had not only died but apparently by his own hand. This comic genius who brought so much laughter and love to so many people suffered from severe depression. And we lost him because of it, we lost so much.
Now here at last is the final piece of work on his resume, the final movie of Robin Williams. Is it a great movie? Yes, absolutely! Is it easy to watch? No, not at all. Boulevard is a movie with a deep well of sadness, a great epic sadness and loneliness that hangs over this movie and fills every frame like nothing I have ever seen.
Director Dito Montiel’s Boulevard is the kind of movie where every shot, every edit, camera angle and especially, every line of dialog and movement by every actor is important.

Eleven months after Robin Williams shockingly committed suicide, the actor makes his final onscreen appearance in the indie drama Boulevard. Williams plays Nolan, a 60-year-old married bank manager who is forced to confront his repressed homosexuality after he encounters a young hustler named Leo (Roberto Aguire). The role is another serious turn for the actor who was known for his larger-than-life comedic characters like Mrs. Doubtfire and the voice of Genie in Aladdin but also received acclaim for dramatic performances in films like Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting. Robin Williams's last dramatic role sees him playing Nolan Mack, a closeted banker, in Dito Montiel's quiet drama Boulevard, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival last year and opens in select theaters July 10. Nolan, who is married to Joy (Kathy Baker), begins to have a sexual awakening at the late age of 60, when he embarks on a relationship with a young hustler named Leo (Roberto Aguire). In this exclusive clip, his friend Winston, played by Better Call Saul's Bob Odenkirk, happens to confront Nolan about his strange behavior at the exact moment Leo comes into his bank. Obviously, things get complicated.

Throughout his all too brief career, Robin Williams was rightly praised as a comedic genius. He was also feted quite a bit for his dramatic work, but never quite as much as I felt that he deserved. We all know of his tragic passing, but this week he has one last dramatic performance to share with the world in Boulevard, and go figure…it’s one of his best performances ever. Certainly top ten worthy, if you ask me. While it’s incredibly depressing that he won’t be around to share his gift with us anymore, Boulevard is a wonderful swan song for Williams and a reminder of just what a talent he was. The film is a look at a man struggling with coming out late in life. Nolan (played by the aforementioned Williams) loves his wife, but he’s known all his life that he was gay.

Read More: How Robin Williams Snuck His Genius Into Movies Robin Williams played a lot of sad, wistful characters before the abrupt end to his career with his suicide nearly a year ago. Many of these titles went a long way toward broadening his range. "Boulevard," which premiered months before Williams' death but opens in limited release this week, has the opposite effect — it reduces William's somber talent to formula. Arriving so close to a painful anniversary, the shortcomings of "Boulevard" highlight the broader setbacks that plagued Williams' career during its final years. Playing a closeted gay banker who takes an almost paternal interest in neighborhood hustler Leo (Roberto Aguirre), Williams does what he can as Nolan, a man trapped in a loveless marriage and trying his best to keep his real urges a secret. Director Dito Montiel captures Nolan's recurring attempts to foster a seemingly platonic relationship with Leo,...

It's jarring to see Robin Williams in a movie trailer, so long after the actor's August 2014 death. And he's front and center in the new promo for "Boulevard," his final onscreen film role (he also voices a dog in the comedy "Absolutely Anything," out later this summer), spouting the sort of lines that are imbued with new meaning in the wake of his passing.
Williams plays Nolan, a 60-year-old closeted man stuck in a marriage he doesn't want, working a dead-end bank job for more than 25 years, and wondering how his life got so far from happy.
"Nothing turned out the way I thought, I guess," he says.
One night on the way home from work, Nolan takes a sudden detour down an unfamiliar road, and ends up picking up Leo (newcomer Roberto Aguire), a young hooker who Nolan pays for companionship rather than sex. He's drawn into Leo's life,...

Robin Williams' final drama film Boulevard, the last movie to feature him in person since his death, may make you cry. The fan-favorite Oscar-winning actor, who died at age 63 in 2014, plays Nolan, a middle-aged man stuck in a rut and a passionless marriage to a woman. His life is changed after he meets a young male prostitute, Leo, played by Roberto Aguire. He pays him solely for his company, connects with him emotionally and finally embraces his true sexuality and authentic self. "Maybe it's never too late to finally start living the life you really want," says his friend Winston, played by Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, as seen in a trailer released this week. Edward...

Boulevard Trailer. Dito Montiel‘s Boulevard (2014) movie trailer stars Robin Williams, Bob Odenkirk, Kathy Baker, and Giles Matthey. Boulevard‘s plot synopsis: “A devoted husband in a marriage of convenience is forced to confront his secret life.”
Boy, oh boy. It’s hard to make a trailer for this film without it feeling off. Robin Williams hanged himself and slit his wrists. That’s dark. There’s nothing inspiring or positive or hopeful about any of that. We’re told to celebrate his life, and we sure do. We love his films, and we miss his personality.
Robin Williams has always been his best in dramatic performances. I truly believe that. I know he’s a funny-man, a comedian to most, and probably best known as Ms. Doubtfire. But even in that movie, you can see the emotional intellect behind his face. He was a highly intelligent man, and impossible talented.

Robin Williams is a 60-year-old man who is forced to confront his secret life in the first trailer for “Boulevard,” which will showcase the late actor’s final dramatic performance. The film follows a banker in a marriage of convenience who decides to pick up a male hustler (Roberto Aguire) one night. Although he pays for companionship rather than sex, the life-changing experience will force Williams’ character to confront his slowly-emerging sexual identity. “Boulevard,” which co-stars Bob Odenkirk and Kathy Baker, is the latest from director Dito Montiel (“A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints”), and was written by Douglas Soesbe.

Afterlife with Archie #7
Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

Published by Archie Comics
After last issue’s Sabrina is the bride of Cthulhu cosmic horror tale, Afterlife with Archie returns the focus to the remaining Riverdale survivors, especially Betty. The story is told from her Pov, and writer Roberto Aguirre-Sicasa truly humanizes the various members of the Archie gang with its honesty, vulnerability, and unexpected non-soapiness. There is horror too, but the red-haired, a little too close for siblings Jason and Cheryl Blossom might be scarier than “Jugdead” and the other zombies. Feelings of fear, sadness, and romance are all conveyed by artist Francesco Francavilla’s mastery of light and shadow, color, and using a different amount of lines for each scene. For example, he covers Betty’s sister Polly in shadow during her childhood flashbacks, which hints at a tragic turn of events for Polly. As...
