After months of speculation, Marvel has confirmed that Spider-Man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (expect to see him in Captain America: Civil War) before returning for a new solo outing in summer 2017.
But alas, it's looking like it'll all be without Andrew Garfield, whose two film-stint as the web-slinger looks to be drawing to a close. Even though The Amazing Spider-Man films never quite scaled the heights of the first two Sam Raimi offerings, Garfield was always the best thing about them and it's a shame he may not get a chance to play the character again.
