There’s a simplicity to him, which I hadn’t really played before, and a likability and quietness that made him feel very real.”

Plot: Gal Dove and Don Logan are best friends and small-town thieves living the good life in ‘90s East London. Deedee Harrison is a captivating adult film star whose ambitions to control her own personal destiny and her love affair with Gal Dove put her in danger. Teddy Bass is a treacherous, rising name in the gangster world who seduces Gal and Don into his criminal web.
Review: Of all the films I never expected to get a prequel, Sexy Beast would never have occurred to me. Mare of Easttown fans have been waiting to see if the HBO series will return for a second season and star Kate Winslet spoke about the series in a recent podcast appearance. This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: Andor
Season 1 of the Disney+ series Andor is coming to a close, with episode 12 marking the end of this chapter of Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) story. So far this season, we’ve seen Cassian slowly become the Rebel we know from Rogue One as well as a glimpse of the growing Rebellion against the Empire. Meanwhile, the Isb and the Empire have proven to be formidable opponents, as their officers show little mercy in their singular goal of galaxy-wide obedience.
Even though we know how Cassian’s story will end in Rogue One, there are still plenty of questions regarding where we’ll leave him this season. Will Luthen and Cassian reunite on Ferrix? Will Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) have to cross her own moral lines in order to move forward with the Rebellion? Will Cassian ever find his sister?

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Andor."
If "Andor" has proven anything, it's that nothing is easy in the age of the Empire, least of all love. After the Aldhani heist in episode six triggered a galaxy-wide Imperial crackdown, it doesn't seem like any of our heroes will be getting happy endings any time soon. The series' seventh episode alone suggests trouble for Vel Sartha (Faye Marsay) and Cinta Kaz (Varada Sethu) — who are definitely sweethearts, fight me on it — and even checks back in on Mon Monthma's (Genevieve O'Reilly) icy marriage on Coruscant. While I'd be lying if I said I wasn't incredibly interested in the drama brewing between her drip of a hubby, Perrin (Alastair Mackenzie) and new player Tay Kolma (Ben Miles), "Andor" is finally offering some context to the relationship between Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona).

It's not an exaggeration to say that "Andor" has been a project years in the making. The series was first announced back in 2018 — which feels like a lifetime ago — and the intervening years have been filled with enough hype, anticipation, and Vanity Fair features to excite even the most skeptical "Star Wars" fans. But even before "Andor" was a twinkle in Lucasfilm's eye, it felt like we'd been waiting forever for such a radical take on "Star Wars."
From the beginning, "Andor" was teased as a dramatically different "Star Wars" story, one that benefitted greatly from the big swing that "Rogue One" took back in 2016. Showrunner Tony Gilroy has been especially keen on managing expectations for the series: "Andor" is not the kind of "Star Wars" project that regurgitates everything we already know through cameos and Easter eggs. It's a series about a world on the brink of revolution,...

This Star Wars: Andor article contains spoilers.
Star Wars: Andor opens up a whole new corner of the galaxy far, far away, one where workers clock in to their jobs at the scrapyard and corporate bureaucracy rules entire sectors of space. It’s here where Cassian is poised to introduce a bit of chaos, as he goes from common crook to the Rebel secret agent we’ve already met in Rogue One. While the first three episodes of the show focus on who Cassian was before there even was a Rebel Alliance to join, they also introduce plenty of other characters, planets, and factions who play a role in the Galactic Civil War to come.
As you might expect, like all other Star Wars shows on Disney+, Andor is full of easter eggs and callbacks to other parts of the universe. Here’s what we’ve found so far…

[This story contains spoilers for Andor’s first three episodes.]
At the height of the pandemic, Andor star Adria Arjona flew all the way to London to audition alongside Diego Luna (who plays the titular Rebel Alliance officer Cassian Andor), and within a span of 10 minutes, series creator Tony Gilroy welcomed her to Star Wars. Arjona plays Bix Caleen, who’s a mechanic and one of Cassian’s oldest friends on the planet Ferrix. In their first scene together at Bix’s small business, it’s suggested that the two characters have untapped feelings for one another, resulting in Bix’s current love interest, Timm (James McArdle), to jealously betray her by reporting Cassian to Imperial Security.
According to Arjona, the backstory for Bix and Cassian’s relationship is still up in the air.
“They’re childhood friends, and there’s this mystery of, ‘Were they ever really in love?’” Arjona tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Life After Life, Kate Atkinson’s acclaimed 2013 novel that’s now a four-part BBC drama, is founded on the bruising truth that existence is unbearably fragile. Its world, our world, is a dangerous place pitted with obstacles. It’s the story of Ursula, a character born in 1910, who dies and is reborn in a continuous loop. Each time Ursula falls foul of life’s lethal traps, she begins again, not remembering her lives before but not quite forgetting them either. Her past deaths leave her with tugging instincts – don’t step there, don’t take his hand, don’t linger – that gradually extend her life and, if well-managed, those of the people she loves.
For Ursula, death waits in all places – in the knot of umbilical cord around a baby’s neck, inside a rolling wave and beneath an open window. Death waits equally in a pandemic and in wartime...

Kate Atkinson’s bestselling 2013 novel “Life After Life” has been brought to vivid life as a four-part BBC series by a heavyweight team.
The story centers on Ursula Todd who dies one night in 1910 before she can draw her first breath. On that same night in 1910, Ursula is born and survives. She finds herself time and again, living and dying in different circumstances only to be reborn into a new, alternative iteration of life once more. Ursula navigates her way through an era spanning two world wars, an encounter with Hitler and major life events.
At just 21, Thomasin McKenzie, who plays Ursula, already has a list of impressive credits including “Leave No Trace,” “Jojo Rabbit” and “Last Night in Soho.” The four-part series is produced by BBC Studios’ House Productions, run by co-CEOs Juliette Howell, Emmy and Rts nominee for “Brexit: The Uncivil War,” and Tessa Ross, BAFTA winner for outstanding British contribution to cinema,...

It speaks volumes for Saoirse Ronan’s achievements, at just 27, that news of her U.K. stage debut was greeted with the level of excitement that might accompany a Hollywood veteran. But while at the height of her screen powers, Ronan is still a novice in the theater.
