Marcia Hines has finally spoken out about her daughter Deni's controversial stint on last year's Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Deni was dubbed 'the witch' of the reality television show by critics after run-ins with fellow contestants Polly Porter and Jesinta Campbell, but former Australian Idol judge Marcia said that the producers of the show are probably to blame for her portrayal. Marcia told the Herald Sun: "Editing is a bitch, Deni isn't. The truth of the matter is, when you are fatigued and angry, things come out of your mouth. Reality television is a harsh thing. "For Deni, it was a wake-up call because you don't expect that level of backlash from things you say normally. If you say it to your friends, they don't talk to you for a week. When it's out in the public arena, everyone has something (more)...

Celebrity Apprentice contestant Deni Hines has insisted that she is not a "mean person". The Australian singer, who was dubbed 'the witch' of the reality television show after run-ins with fellow contestants Polly Porter and Jesinta Campbell, said that she "never bullied" anyone. Hines told New Idea magazine: "I didn't expect [the negative backlash]. It was a weird experience. When you're being filmed seven, eight hours a day you tend to forget they're following you all the time, then selectively editing the material. "It's not especially nice, but I can handle it. Tomorrow, somebody else will be picked on. I did say I was happy to stir the pot a bit because that makes good TV. There were a lot of controversial comments said by all contestants, but I guess the network chose to lump it all on (more)...

With the grand finale airing tonight, Nine’s end-of-year ratings push has been led five nights a week by the FremantleMedia-produced Celebrity Apprentice. Georgina Pearson visits the set during the show’s six-week Sydney shoot to find out how the series came together.
Celebrity Apprentice is an interesting concept; one that perhaps, on paper, could be deemed a marketing nightmare. For how can you take B-grade Australian celebs and replicate the hugely successful multi-billion dollar Donald Trump-helmed hit?

For the unfamiliar, the premise is fairly simple: 12 celebrity contestants, each vying for a final prize of $100,000 for their chosen charity. Entrepreneur and founder of wealth management company Yellow Brick Road, Mark Bouris, presides as the ultimate boss. Guided by Acp Magazines’ Deborah Thomas and Bouris’ long time right-hand man Brad Seymour, Bouris puts the contestants through their paces with a series of team challenges...

A number of previously fired Celebrity Apprentice Australia stars have returned to the show for the final challenge. Didier Cohen and Deni Hines joined Jesinta Campbell and Shane Crawford in Team Unity, while Max Markson and Polly Porter teamed up with finalists Julia Morris and Jason Coleman in a task to create an advertising campaign for boss Mark Bouris's wealth management company Yellow Brick Road. Crawford chose Cohen to join him and Campbell, further igniting rumours of a romance between the modelling duo by referring to Cohen as Campbell's "boyfriend". He later called them "lovebirds" and revealed that Cohen is "starstruck" by the former Miss Universe Australia. Cohen jumped to Campbell's defence when she clashed with Hines during the task, saying: "It's the (more)...

Lisa Curry has jumped to Deni Hines's defence in The Celebrity Apprentice Australia's bullying row. The 49-year-old former Olympic swimming champion, who was eliminated from the reality television show on Wednesday night, said that Hines shouldn't be accused of bullying fellow contestant Polly Porter because she is "lovely". Hines caused controversy by continuously slamming Porter for not being as famous as her, then told The Block star that her comments went "in one ear and out the other" when she tried to address the problem. Curry has now told the Courier-Mail: "Deni and I actually do get on well. If she wants to say something, she'll tell you. And to be honest, I think Polly pushed her button probably a few too many times - and she snapped. "It was only a matter of (more)...

Polly Porter has insisted that she is "fine" with Deni Hines after their argument on the set of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia. The former Block contestant, who was eliminated from The Celebrity Apprentice last week, said that she used to get tearful during filming of the show because Hines would pick on her for not being 'famous' enough to be there. Porter told the Herald Sun: "I would come home from filming and be in tears because of how rude Deni was to me. I would tell [boyfriend and fellow The Block star] Waz [Jones] everything and he just wants to take the pain away." Hines was repeatedly shown teasing Porter for not being in "the industry" for as long as the other Celebrity Apprentice contestants, but when Porter confronted her about being "disrespectful", Hines said that (more)...
