Mara Consoli graduated in Film History and Criticism from La Sapienza
University in Rome. She has been working for more than 10 years in
collaboration with the Research, Development and Promotion Department
of RAI 2, (Italian Public Television) on promotional campaigns for the
main programs of the TV channel. As author and screenwriter, she has
been working with major national television networks and Polivideo Sa,
mainly on the design and implementation of new TV formats. In 2004, she
created and produced The Last Lights, a documentary aired on RAI 2,
about the shut down of the last mine in France. In 2006 , together with
director Sergio Spina, she wrote the screenplay of Sandokan, a story of
the Camorrah adapted from Nanni Balestrini's book, and produced by Rai
Fiction. Since 2009 she has worked in collaboration with La7 (Italian
National TV Channel), first in Prossima Fermata, a daily journalistic
analysis, then as curator of the Madama Palazzo, a political weekly.
Recently, she has also completed Vittorio, Captain Pistone and all the others, a self-produced documentary on the Alzheimer syndrome, which has been well-received by critics.
