The Day After Halloween (no relation to the Australian film Snapshot which was released in the US under that title) actually opens on Halloween as Addison (Danny Schluck; Street to Table) and Hayes (Brandon DeLany; Air: The Musical) prepare for their Halloween celebrations. First with a special selection of films at the drive-in Addison runs. Then at an after-party just like every year.
This year however there’s a complication. When they wake up they find a dead body (Aimee Fogelman; Don Jon) in their bathtub. Judging by the marks on the body foul play was involved, and worst of all she was Addison’s girlfriend up until the night before when they had a messy breakup. Since both of them were blackout drunk the night before they have no idea what could have happened,...

"Hello guys! I need to talk to you, about a party you had here last night..." Kamikaze Dogfight has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror creation titled The Day After Halloween, arriving on VOD later in August this summer. No relation to the 1979 horror film also titled The Day After Halloween, which is a bit strange to see nowadays. "It's The Hangover meets Horror when Gravitas Ventures and Kamikaze Dogfight invite you to witness The Day after Halloween." Directed by Chad Ostrom, and written by Danny Schluck, this frighteningly fun genre treat sees two lifelong buddies forced to unravel the circumstances that led to a corpse in their bathtub in the wake of a Halloween party. Sounds intense. The film stars Danny Schluck, Brandon DeLany, Aimee Fogelman, and Victoria Meade. This doesn't look that good, which isn't a surprise considering this hasn't earned any buzz at the small...

At the risk of overgeneralizing, why is it that cheapie musicals are so much more charming to watch on screen than they are when some friend invites you to whatever way-off-Broadway show they’ve managed to get mixed up in? Heck, these tiny film projects are often more endearing than the relatively big-budget ones the Hollywood studios produce. I’ll take “Colma” over “Cats” any day, and would watch “Once” ten times before sitting through “Into the Woods” again.
Big and bombastic works great on stage, but tends to look garish and awkward on screen, whereas scrappy tuners somehow feel more sincere when the camera can go in for a closeup, à la “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and “Hello Again.” That strategy — of letting the actors’ faces sell the emotion behind frequently corny lyrics — saves the day in Jack Danini’s “Ode to Passion,” a micro-budget contemporary rock musical...

"Time passes... But the body never forgets." Red Road Studio has debuted an official trailer for a film titled The Aerialist, which will be available to watch streaming on Amazon this summer. The Aerialist is the much anticipated sequel to the award winning lesbian film The Gymnast, from the same director and star. Dreya Weber plays an aerialist (an aerial acrobatic performer) rehearsing for a rock tour, who is battling age, injury, and a young director scheming to end her career, while a shady reporter digs into the ghosts of her past. Weber is not only an accomplished actress but is one of the leading aerial performers and trainers having choreographed Pink, Cher, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and many others on their tours. The film's cast includes Morgan Bradley, Kelly Marcus, Thunderbird Dinwiddie, Victoria Meade, Viet Dang, and Nadine Ellis. This looks like a niche film, but it is an...
