Allison's career started in radio while attending Colorado State University. She was an on-air personality at KSKY AND KIMN FM in Fort Collins, Colorado.
In just 3.5 years, Allison graduated from CSU with a degree in Journalism. From there, she worked as an Anchor/Reporter for KDUH in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and quickly promoted to KCEN in Waco, Texas. Notable coverage included covering the entire Waco Cult Standoff with David Koresh and the Branch Davidians.
Allison decided she wanted to work behind the scenes producing television shows, so she moved back to Colorado and pursued television production. Her first stop: Liberty Media, where she developed and managed a comedy news show called tv! network news. From there, Allison joined High Noon Entertainment where she worked as a Line Producer, Field Producer, Associate Producer, Story Manager and Casting Director for various High Noon shows including HGTV: Bang For Your Buck, HGTV: Endless Yard Sale, HGTV: Fixer Upper, HGTV: Professional Grade, Food Network: Challenge, Food Network: Last Cake Standing, Veria Network: A Model Guru and Specials for DIY Channel, The Travel Channel and Disney Channel.
After Line Producing the pilot for HGTV's Fixer Upper, Allison left High Noon Entertainment and worked as a freelance television field producer. Dipping back into news at a national level working for Good Morning America, World News Tonight, E! News, CBS Game Changers, Al Jazeera America and Inside Edition. Allison also worked on show episodes for the Oprah Winfrey Network, The Katie (Couric) Show, The Red Band Society (Fox), The Weather Channel Brainstormers, Relativity Studios, LMNO Productions, Network Productions and AMC Into The Badlands.
Allison co-authored the book RATTLED with Ross Shafer.
