Duck Dynasty became a global phenomenon when the reality series premiered in 2012. The Robertson family was catapulted to stardom as millions of viewers followed the famous duck hunters and their personal lives in the heart of Louisiana. The A&e series ran for 11 seasons until 2017. The Duck Dynasty fandom remains strong to this day, and many have wondered about a possible revival. Willie Robertson opened up about why a Duck Dynasty revival is not in the cards. “We are looking into some different TV ideas,” Robertson told TV Insider while promoting The Blind. “But to recapture what we did before is really not gonna happen. Sadly, everyone’s gotten older, and we’re all in different places now. Our cast has expanded drastically. I have seven grandkids now, so we’ve got some ideas.” Even though a Duck Dynasty revival is off the table, the Robertsons aren’t retreating from the spotlight.

Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson shows a new side of dad Phil Robertson in The Blind, streaming exclusively on Great American Pure Flix. For Willie, telling his father’s incredible life story and the love he shares with his longtime wife Kay Robertson was “important” for Duck Dynasty fans to see onscreen. “[Duck Dynasty] is really the result of something,” Willie tells TV Insider. “It’s a result of their marriage, staying together, and our family staying together. We really felt like it’s an unbelievable story. It’s a story of redemption and faith. And now after 50 years, you’ve seen what has come out of that, especially with the TV show.” Willie executive produced the film alongside wife Korie Robertson through their production company Tread Lively. They went straight to the source to make sure they portrayed Phil and Kay’s relationship honesty. “It’s hard to go back and relive all that,...

Duck Dynasty and the Metropolitan Opera are two very different cultural phenomena, but they have at least one thing in common: Fathom Events, the unique and prolific theatrical distributor based in Denver.
Over the past 20 years, Fathom has mastered the art of finding audiences for one-off cinematic events, from live broadcasts of opera, stage plays and live concert pics to anniversary rereleases of classic Hollywood films. A groundbreaking partnership with The Metropolitan Opera put Fathom on the map. Launched in 2006, The Met: Live in HD program, which sees about 10 operas a year beamed into theaters on Saturdays and Wednesdays, has generated more than $205 million in box office sales and consistently lands on a weekend’s top 10 list.
The company has also made a big impression in the faith-based and anime spaces (again, two disparate genres). Fathom ranked No. 9 on the list of top distributors at the 2022 domestic box office, with...

With all the reboots and revivals hitting the airwaves, reality fans are likely wondering, is Duck Dynasty still in production? Might we see the Robertson family on TV anytime soon? The short answer: It doesn't seem so. The long answer: A legal battle might be the reason the A&E show hasn't returned. British media company ITV bought a majority stake of Duck Dynasty production company Gurney Productions for $40 million in 2012, The Telegraph reports, and then fired founders and Duck Dynasty creators Scott and Deirdre Gurney in 2016. In the ensuing court battle, ITV alleged Scott and Deirdre acted with "stunning greed" to fraudulently inflate the profits at their company; and ITV also alleged the couple tried to expense $1.2 million of guns, jewelry, massages, vacations, and parties. Meanwhile, the Gurneys claim ITV wrongfully fired them and tried to bilk them out of a fortune, and they've claimed damages of more than $150 million.

Duck Dynasty: The Musical is officially theater-bound! Considering Broadway is pretty gay -- or at least, gay-friendly -- and considering what duck patriarch Phil Robertson has said in the past about homosexuality leading to bestiality, it may seem like an odd fit.
Until you find out it’s actually a Vegas musical. That makes more sense.
The Duck Commander Musical is a “modern-day Beverly Hillbillies story” about a “backwoods family” that strikes it rich. Don’t expect a satire or tell-all either, the Roberston family had script and casting approval.
Watch: Which Duck Dynasty star wants to be on Dancing With the Stars?!
Producer Michael David, whose credits include Jersey Boys, told The New York Times, “The show will end up challenging the views and assumptions of people across the political spectrum, more than most theater does.”

Here's something to quack up about: Duck Dynasty could become a big Las Vegas show. The Robertson Family, the stars of A&E's hit series Duck Dynasty, are in talks to create a musical for the Rio Hotel and Casino, People confirms. The plan is to stage a 90-minute show called The Duck Commander Family Musical, which would be based on the book, The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family and Ducks Built a Dynasty, by Willie and Korie Robertson. The hope is to raise the curtain on the semi-autobiographical show in February. There will be lyrics and tunes from Robert Morris,...

A Broadway-style musical about the family on Duck Dynasty sounds like an SNL skit, but according to the New York Times, it's actually happening. In The Duck Commander Family Musical, actors will portray the family's rags-to-riches tale, as described in the 2012 book by Willie and Korie Robertson. The show is set to open in February at Las Vegas's Rio hotel and casino, so the whole thing makes a bit more sense. However, many on Broadway are not happy that one of their own — Michael David, the producer behind Jersey Boys — is working with a guy who A&E briefly suspended last year for comparing homosexuality to bestiality.David said he was offended by patriarch Phil Robertson's remarks, but he was already involved in the project at the time. The incident will be addressed in the show, which "is expected to feature video of the real Robertsons and duck hunting,...

Music is at the core of two new Specialty features making their theatrical bows this weekend, albeit from rather different ends of the spectrum. Factory 25 is opening its art meets goth-rap thriller Hellaware and Cinema Libre will debut a former Swiss foreign-language Oscar contender The Little Bedroom in exclusive New York runs. Box Office Surprising absolutely no one, Divergent, the Ya adaptation starring Shailene Woodley as a "Divergent" in a dystopian future stratified by personality types, obliterated the competition at the box office this weekend, raking in an estimated $56 million. The take brought it in behind both Twilight and The Hunger Games, but was enough to make it the #2 opener of 2014 and likely validated Summit Entertainment's ongoing plans for a sequel. Muppets Most Wanted opened in second, with $16.5 million, a considerable drop from The Muppets' $29.2 million opening in 2011. Mr. Peabody & Sherman took third, with $11.7 million, a 46% drop over the previous weekend. 300: Rise of an Empire earned an additional $8.6 million, bringing it's total at the start of week #3 to $93.8 million. The Christian-marketed God's Not Dead took fifth with $8.6 million, helped, in part, by appearances by Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson.

Take that, Friedrich Nietzsche.
The biggest surprise this weekend at the box office was not the success of "Divergent," which was widely expected to be the far-and-away frontrunner (and was, with an estimated $55.0 million). Nor was it the weak opening of "Muppets Most Wanted" (debuting at No. 2, with an estimated $16.5 million). Rather, it was the movie that opened in fifth place, "God's Not Dead."
Unlike the two big-budget movies at the top, both of which opened on more than 3,200 screens, "God's Not Dead" was released by the small independent distributor Freestyle on just 780 screens, and yet the star-free picture (unless you count 1990s TV hunks Kevin Sorbo and Dean Cain as big stars) earned an estimated $8.6 million, averaging a healthy $10,979 per screen. ("Divergent" averaged $14,228, while "Muppets" averaged just $5,170.) Most notably, "God's Not Dead" was an explicitly Christian-themed movie, of the sort that usually top out around $6 million over their entire theatrical run.

God’s Not Dead, a Christian indie film featuring cameos from Duck Dynasty duo, Willie and Korie Robertson, made an impressive splash at the box office this weekend, earning $8.6 million in only 780 theaters.

God’s Not Dead profited from a growing social media campaign and also gained audiences by partnering with Winter Jam, a Christian music festival. Directed by Harold Cronk, whose previous credits include Jerusalem Countdown and War Prayer, God’s Not Dead follows college student Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper) who suffers a crisis when his philosophy professor declares that God does not exist.
In the film, Josh needs to either admit, “God is Dead,” or be prepared to defend God’s existence and risk failing the course. The film was produced and distributed by Christian movie studio Pure Flix Entertainment, whose mission is to make “Christ centered films with positive messages that...
