The 91st Academy Awards are this Sunday, February 24th and Jay Washington talks why the movie is deserving of its best picture nomination and even possibly the win
Every year around awards season there is always a big question of what films will be nominated for awards, which ones should be nominated and which one’s should not. This year has been no different as one film in particular has caused much of a stir around its nomination for Best Picture. This film of course is Marvel Studio’s Black Panther. Along with being nominated for a total of 7 Academy Awards the superhero flick is the first of its genre to be nominated for the Oscar’s top prize which is set to be handed out on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
Social media was sent ablaze once the nomination announcements were made on January 20, 2019 presented by Tracee Ellis Ross and Kumail Nanjiani.

When the first official images of Will Smith as the Genie in Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake made their way online back in December, many fans were upset to see that the actor didn’t have blue skin, prompting Smith himself to take to social media to clarify that his character will still be blue in the actual movie.
Sure enough, the new trailer for Guy Ritchie’s film finally shows us the fully CGI’d version of the Genie, complete with his unnatural skin tone, and wouldn’t you know it, the internet is more skeptical than ever, with the Twitter response suggesting a mixture of disappointment and terror:
so a new trailer for #Aladdin premiered during the #Grammys and it showed Will Smith’s Genie and… i don’t know chief pic.twitter.com/za045I6RVU

Chicago – Local Chicago filmmaking got a major debut last weekend with the premiere of “Landline,” written, directed and starring Matthew Aaron. Appropriately, he got the World Champion Chicago Cubs involved, as the plot includes a PR agency pitching a new campaign to the team. The Red Carpet walk had a couple of featured performers in the film who both are Chicago natives – Jim O’Heir (“Parks and Recreation”) and comedian Jay Washington. “Landline” has a one week run at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre (details below), and on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017, the film will be released digitally through most TV and internet providers.
Ted Gout (Matthew Aaron) is happily married to his husband Jack (Patrick Hartigan), but is suffering anxiety because he needs to land the Chicago Cubs account for his PR company. Unfortunately, his work rival Barry (Chad Michael Singer) is fighting him for it, and his boss Fiona...
