Nishii, previously known as Nin Nishii, started his carreer at the Eroge company Nitroplus. For his first big job, he was lent to the game company âge, where he drew some mecha designs for their game Muv-Luv. In the same year he became lead graphical designer for Nitroplus' game, Zanma Taisei Demonbane. He also illustrated the six-part book series with the same name. Afterwards he worked on Jingai Makyou (2005) and Kishin Hishou Demonbane (2006). His last game at Nitroplus was Zoku Satsuriku no Django.
2007/8 Nitroplus cooperated with the animation studio Gonzo for the anime series Blassreiter where Nishii was responsible for the original character design.
After this he left Nitroplus and worked freelance as an illustrator for several different projects including a number of ongoing light novel series.
