I grew up in Berkeley, CA in the 1970s. As a young boy I was thrown into the beat generation, the mystics and double feature films for $1.00. Films were my therapy. As youthful boy, I was always very anxious. Going to the movies calmed me down and relieved tension. There was no on-demand video streaming or scattered short clips on your smart phone; you only had a few choices for film and you had to go and experience it in the movie theater.
I have vivid memories of Stanley Kubrick films, Roger Moore 007, Death Wish, Bronson, Cannonball Run, John Candy, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Mad Max, Police Academy and a ton of Kung-Fu Films!
My parents would take us on journeys across America in a beat up old VW Van. Our life was an adventure and at times difficult when you live a nomadic lifestyle. It was in these visceral experiences I developed a keen eye for people and the world in which we occupy as human beings. I believe we are all beautiful creatures; each and everyone one of us a miracle -extremely lucky just to exist.
I worked as an actor for 6 years in my early 20s. Later in life I moved into directing indie films and now producing and production management over the last 10 years. Overall, I have been involved film and media over the last 20 years. I continue to build upon each lesson in this business and work at creating high caliber projects and developing story first. I do not need special effects in my films; unless it advances the story. I believe because of my profound experiences in life; the productions I tend to focus on are character driven stories.
