Chain, the concept dining experience founded by actor-writer B.J. Novak and Michelin-starred chef Tim Hollingsworth, hosted an intimate pop-up at their Hollywood Chain House.
On both Wednesday and Thursday night, May 8 and 9, the nostalgia-inducing space transformed into “The Pollo Lounge,” a riff on the iconic Polo Lounge, becoming a cozy and classy jazz speakeasy where invited guests were served their take on Kentucky Friend Chicken classics. Chain specializes in transforming chain restaurant classics, like a KFC chicken bucket, into a more elevated version of itself.
For the Pollo Lounge pop-up, guests were served generous portions of chicken tenders, french fries, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and biscuits at tables centered around a small stage. In addition to the food, guests were able to choose from a menu of cocktails made with the new prebiotic soda Levo, which sponsored the evening. The soda was also available on its own for...

Dave is taking a break.
There are “no current plans” for a fourth season of the Fxx comedy as co-creator and star Dave Burd “presses pause” to focus on other things.
Burd, otherwise known as Lil Dicky, has long talked about his music career and wanting to record more albums. Penith, the soundtrack to Dave, featuring the single “Mr. McAdams,” was released last month.
“Making Dave has been and continues to be a dream come true,” he said. “But there are other creative ventures that I am dying to pursue as well. For the past 5 years, I’ve poured every fiber of my being into the show, and after three amazing seasons, this feels like a good time to press pause to give myself the bandwidth to do some of the other things I have always wanted to do. “Dave” and Lil Dicky fans, the artist’s first new music in eight years is finally coming to streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music later this year. Dave Burd, the “Dave” star/exec producer and rapper also known as Lil Dicky, is compiling tracks, and expanding other music cues, from the first three seasons of “Dave” that he plans to release shortly.
The album would serve somewhat as a “Dave” soundtrack but also as Lil Dicky’s first official release since 2015’s “Professional Rapper,” which was certified platinum and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart.
“I’ve been making music ever since then,” Burd said. “I realized this year, as I took a step back and looked at all the different music that’s made it into the first three seasons of the show, there’s enough here, a great body of work and a project...

Throughout the third season of FX comedy Dave, Lil Dicky’s friend and aspiring director Emma has been shooting a documentary about the rapper’s search for romance. In the latest episode, which aired May 24, it’s finally finished.
After Dave (played by Dave Burd, known as Lil Dicky) tries to micromanage the editing of the Lil Dicky Looking For Love documentary, Emma incorporates that into the doc and it catches him by surprise during a family and friends screening. Afterward, Dave tells Emma he feels manipulated — “but in the most artistic way possible” — and says he has some notes before it’s released. Emma isn’t having it, and calmly tells him that it’s her documentary not his and “there will be no more notes.”
It’s a big moment for Emma, showing a kind of boldness Christine Ko says she’s excited to see for her character.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for Episode 9 of “Dave,” now streaming on Hulu.
Christine Ko’s Emma, the unaffected cool chick in Lil Dicky’s friend group in “Dave,” has been filming a documentary throughout the third season of the FX comedy, which follows Dave Burd’s autofictional title character as he embarks on a “Looking for Love” tour across America.
But the finished product isn’t quite what Dave expects, as Emma includes hidden camera footage of their editing sessions — which paints Dave as obsessive and controlling — in the final cut of the documentary.
After a family and friends screening, Dave tells Emma he was impressed by the movie, but felt “manipulated” by her, arguing that he never gave her permission to film the editing sessions. When he begins to offer feedback, Emma cuts him off: “This isn’t our thing. It’s mine. I’m not compromising my vision for anything…...

Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd’s Dave is back with season 3. Naturally, many viewers are curious about the cast of the Fxx/Hulu series and where they might have seen the actors before. Find out what shows and movies Andrew Santino, Taylor Misiak, Christine Ko, Travis “Taco” Bennett, and GaTa have been in before, plus who the richest is out of the Dave cast.
Dave ‘Lil Dicky’ Burd and GaTa in season 3 of ‘Dave’ | Byron Cohen/FX Lil Dicky is the wealthiest ‘Dave’ cast member
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lil Dicky is worth an estimated $8 million in 2023. The rapper hasn’t released new music in some time, which means he hasn’t gone on tour and earned money from that revenue stream. Instead, he has been focused on writing new music and his Fxx series.
Burd’s co-star Santino, who plays his manager in the comedy series, ranks second when it comes to net worth.

We haven’t seen the last of Ally, the onscreen ex-girlfriend to Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd on FX’s hit comedy series “Dave.” Executive producer Dave Shin told TheWrap she’ll be making a comeback to the show on Season 3.
“Ally is not gone forever. She is definitely part of the unit,” Shin said. “I think you’re going to find, you know, this whole notion of looking for love, she was such an integral part of the first two seasons. I think it would be a shame if we kind of discarded her … She’ll be there for sure.”
Heralded today as FX Network’s most-watched comedy ever, “Dave” returns for its third season on Wednesday on Fxx, and this time around, the quirky rapper is hitting the road, headlining his first-ever tour (aptly called the “Looking for Love” tour) and setting his sights on finding a new love interest for himself.

Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd returns to television with season 3 of his Fxx/Hulu series Dave. This season, Lil Dicky is on tour a quest for love and gets into plenty of genital-joke-filled shenanigans along the way. Featuring an incredibly talented cast and team of creatives behind the scenes who give the storytelling dimension, Dave Season 3 gets a 4.5 star review. Here’s what made the third season of the rapper’s Fxx series excellent.
‘Dave’ Season 3 is excellent | Showbiz Cheat Sheet ‘Dave’ cast reverts back to the basics in season 3
Season 1 of Dave was about Burd’s initial viral success and his quest to achieve long-lasting fame. In season 2, that fame quickly went to the rapper’s head. As a result, fame compromised some of the most important relationships in his life, especially his girlfriend Ally (Taylor Misiak).
Dave Season 3 strikes a balance between the versions of Lil Dicky we saw in the first two seasons.

However, when it came to filming the latest season of the series, Moss told us she had to sweep most of that real-world awareness aside. In order to play the role correctly, she told us, she really needed to immerse herself in the character’s world, not the real world. Note: The following contains spoilers for “Only Murders in the Building” Season 2, Episode 8: “Hello Darkness.
“Only Murders in the Building” finds its happy place in happy mediums: the juxtaposition of humor and grief, laughter in between the tears and generational divisions that actually work to bridge disparities.
In its sophomore season’s eighth episode, the show once again plays with opposites, illuminating the central mystery that’s clouding the trio’s lives amid a New York City–wide blackout that’s affected their building. For co-creator, showrunner and executive producer John Hoffman, “Hello, Darkness” paradoxically yet intentionally offers rays of light and clarity — all framed against the backdrop of the stately (if overpriced) Arconia’s gloomy hidden passageways.
“It’s basically their rock bottom when they drop down and they say, ‘We’re lost in our own building,’ and feel at a loss between the three of them,” he told TheWrap.

Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 8
As we reach the final three episodes of season two, Only Murders in the Building has to find a way to both close strong and prepare for the future of the program. This means continuing to flesh out peripheral characters who may factor into the third season, and closing out the arcs of other bit parts who probably won’t. Seeing who is part of the latter group will help us determine who killed Bunny Folger, and the eighth episode does a great job of juggling all of these folks.
We last left off with Oliver, Charles, and Mabel at a local diner. A blackout occurs right as Charles is trying to get a hold of Lucy. His pseudo step-daughter is waiting for him back at the apartment, and Charles is worried she might...

The Goran Stolevski-directed horror-drama “You Won’t Be Alone,” was Thursday named the best film at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Korea’s leading genre film event.
The Australia-u.K.-Serbia co-production is set in Macedonia and stars Noomi Rapace in a 19th century tale about a young girl who is transformed into a witch. It premiered at the Sundance festival in January and recently played in Sydney. At the Palm Springs festival, Stolevski won the ‘directors to watch’ prize.
His next feature, “Of An Age,” about a whirlwind gay romance, is already completed and is set as the opening film of next month’s Melbourne Film Festival.
The BiFan jury heaped praise on “You Won’t Be Alone.” “It is a phenomenal attempt to interpret the fundamentals of humanity through the means of genre cinema by using alienated and isolated human creatures borrowed from folk tales, added up with mystery.

This Only Murders in the Building review contains spoilers.
Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 3
Perspective is one of the most important factors in how we tell stories. Watching The Sopranos or Breaking Bad from the perspective of the side characters instead of Tony Soprano or Walter White would have made each of these shows take on an entirely different meaning. These anti-heroes would have become villains, and antagonists come to be seen in a contrary light.
Only Murders in the Building understands that perspective is especially important to its storytelling. Theo Dimas (James Caverly) got an episode told through his eyes in the first season, a high point for the show that gave the audience a way for a deaf character to shed some light on the murder investigation. Theo ended up being only a small part of the mystery’s final outcome, but it was a brilliant...

When you take a bite of seven-layer dip — a recipe slightly more elaborate, though nonetheless desirable, than what Martin Short’s condiment-craving character, Oliver Putnam, constantly consumes throughout “Only Murders in the Building” — the desired outcome stems from simple addition: Each ingredient, or layer, compliments the next, combining to create a delicious treat, albeit one of such density to test the rigidity of any chip. While Oliver is happy to subsist on lighter toppings like Tzatziki and hummus, a seven-layer dip could reasonably be considered a meal. And even if it’s not the main course, even if Tostitos-wielding noshers only consume a few scoops or hone in on two or three flavors — carving out the beans and guac, while avoiding the olives and onions — they’re typically content with the snack, considering its versatility, its depth, its wide-ranging appeal.

Sounds like Handmaid’s Tale viewers are going to get an under-His-eyeful when the Hulu series returns for Season 5.

The Handmaid’s Tale has added Christine Ko (Dave) to the Season 5 cast in a recurring role. Ko will play Lily, a Gilead refugee who has become a leader of the resistance movement in Canada, per The Hollywood Reporter. Lily is a former Martha described as “gritty and resourceful” and “a fierce ally” once trust is earned. Perhaps she was one of the Marthas rescued from Gilead in exchange for Commander Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) in the Season 4 finale? Production on The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 is currently underway in Toronto. An official premiere date for the Emmy-winning Hulu drama has not yet been announced. The season will pick up where Season 4 left off and reveal June’s (Elisabeth Moss) fate after killing Fred. Serena Joy Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski) will soon be expecting her and Fred’s baby. And June will likely join the resistance in Canada if she’s not imprisoned for murder.
