Monday’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance at last revealed the Top 10 contestants for Season 14, after weeks of stunning auditions, brutal training at The Academy and far too much footage of the All-Stars looking conflicted about who to cut.
Over the course of two hours, we finally learned who each All-Star decided to bring to the performance shows — and the resulting duos set a very high bar in their first live outing.
Below, let’s recap Monday’s routines, in the order each finalist was revealed:

So You Think You Can Dance‘s Season 9 co-champion Eliana Girard says that her decision to quit a steady job as an aerialist with Cirque du Soleil and audition for a reality competition was the best choice she’s ever made, but by far the scariest. “I had been with Cirque for almost three years, and it was amazing because it felt like home. I had my friends. I had a steady income,” she says. “But as an artist I felt really stifled, and I felt like I wasn’t improving or growing.”

Spoiler alert: If you haven't watched the So You Think You Can Dance finale yet, proceed with caution. Two winners were crowned last night: Eliana Girard and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp. This is the first time that one, let alone two, ballet dancers have taken home the top prize. Can't say we were all that shocked by sweethearts Eliana and Chehon beating out Tiffany Maher and Cyrus Spencer respectively, but did any of the six judges have a jaw on the floor moment? You bet! Get the backstage chatter, plus Eliana and Chehon's emotional reaction: "It hasn't settled yet, it still feels like I'm dreaming," Eliana told E! News, adding her mother was the first person she was...

The results of Tuesday night's So You Think You Can Dance's Season 9 votes not only surprised the contestants, but the judges as well. Although most people expected Eliana Girard to win it for the girls, few supporters of fellow ballet dancer Chehon Wespi-Tschopp thought he could beat out fan favorite Cyrus Spencer to take home the title for the guys.

Last night the So You Think You Can Dance finale aired with the top four dancers performing for one last time. Interestingly enough, all of this years finalists, Tiffany Maher, Cyrus Spencer, Eliana Girard and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp have a background in ballet. I'm pretty sure this is a So You Think You Can Dance firs; next thing you know an Opera singer will be winning American Idol.
Another first was the change to the winners themselves, on this years Sytycd two winners were crowned: a male and female. Eliana Girard and Chehon Wesp-Tschopp were crowned the winners despite a season that included some scary injuries, meltdowns, shattered emotions, and at least one seriously hard to pronounce name. Even though they were the winners, all four of the finalists had ample screen-time to showcase their skills.

For the first time in So You Think You Can Dance history, America has crowned two winners. "I don't know why we've never done it before," judge Nigel Lythgoe told People after Tuesday's ninth-season finale of the Fox dance competition - where both a male and female were declared "America's favorite dancers." "It's really great that they win in their own sexes," said Lythgoe. And so, with the entire top 20 on hand, the season's final four - Cyrus Spencer, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, Eliana Girard and Tiffany Maher - waited to learn who would take home the titles. It all comes down to this! "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 9 aired its two-hour live finale on Tuesday night -- complete with a Carly Rae Jepsen performance -- and for the first time ever, two winners were crowned. This season was certainly an interesting one, given its new format without a results show, and because of the new rule about having a male and a female winner.
The female winner is Eliana Gerard. A ballet dancer from Florida, 21-year-old Gerard was Nigel Lythgoe's favorite female dancer this season, and she's already been asked to join Desmond Richardson's company after the show. She beat out Jazz dancer Tiffany Maher, also from Florida, to take the cash prize.
The male winner is Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, whose expertise is also ballet. When asked to showcase a specific piece from the season, Chehon chose to revisit his Argentine Tango with Anya.

The So You Think You Can Dance finale is always a bittersweet time. It's a joyous occasion for whoever wins, but...we're always so sad when the season is over! And though the Fox summer hit only aired once a week in its ninth season, the usual magic applied. Plus, now that all has been said and danced, as promised we've got two winners for a change! Which is great, because who could decide between Cyrus Spencer and Eliana Girard, or Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Tiffany Maher, or Cyrus and Tiffany, or...You get our drift. This finale kicked off, as usual, with the entire top 20 returning to dance a brand new group number, this one by Sonya Tayeh and Christopher Scott, so it was angsty and raw in...

So You Think You Can Dance 2012 Chehon & Eliana won the show tonight. Earlier tonight, "So You Think You Can Dance 2012" ran their finale show to finally reveal the two winners. It kicked off with a whole slew of performances from the season's top 20 dancers, and also saw a performance from new singing sensation Carly Rae Jepsen, and more. All of the festivities went on for almost a whopping 2 hours. Then finally, host Kat Deeley, brought the final two girls Tiffany Maher and Eliana Girard to the stage to find out who was the winner for the girls. They watched a video montage for the two of them. Then Kat revealed that Eliana beat out Tiffany on the girl's side to take the crown. First the good news: "So You Think You Can Dance" has its final four dancers. Tiffany Maher, Eliana Girard, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Cyrus Spencer will all vie for America's votes in next Tuesday's (Sept. 11) performance finale.
The bad news: Witney Carson and Cole Horibe were automatically eliminated after receiving the fewest votes.
Even though America decided their fate after last week's performance show, each contestant had to perform three dances tonight: solo, paired with an All-Star and paired with a fellow finalist.
"Up All Night" star Christina Applegate returned as a guest judge -- and poor predictor. "Your foot was terrible in your pirouette," she said about his jazz routine with reigning champ Melanie Moore, "but I don't give a s***, because you're so good. And we'll see you next week."
Well, at least he'll be in the audience? As usual, Eliana received mostly unanimous raves from the judges, who...

So You Think Yo Can Dance 2012 eliminated Witney Carson & Cole Horibe tonight. Earlier tonight, the elimination show for "So You Think You Can Dance 2012," aired, and along with eliminating two more unlucky dancers, they also revealed the final 4 dancers who will compete for the title next week. Before they did that, all the dancers did their performances for next week's finale show. That went on for nearly two hours before host Kat Deeley finally revealed that Tiffany and Eliana made it through to the finals, meaning Witney got eliminated, and had to hit the exit door. Next, they took a look at her video montage before sending her on her way. After that, Kat revealed that Chehon and Cyrus made in through to the finals,so the karate boy Cole got eliminated tonight. They showed his video montage before showing him the exit door. So, the dancers who will be...

Cyrus Spencer, the 22-year-old animator/robotics dancer currently competing on "So You Think You Can Dance," has been a lightning rod for viewers this season. While some viewers have grumbled about his lack of dance skill, his adoring fan base continues to vote him through week after week. Tonight, fans will get a chance to speak (or not) for Cyrus again during the show's double-barreled competition/elimination episode starting at 8:00 p.m. on Fox. I had the chance to speak with Cyrus during the TCAs, and we hashed over why he doesn't read his own reviews, what he's hoping to convince the judges to...

Heading into last night’s Mia Michaels tribute episode of So You Think You Can Dance, I was a little worried the judges would get so caught up in praising new renditions of the choreographer’s seven most memorable routines that their actual critiques would be reduced into something of a “You get a gold star! And you get a gold star! And you get a gold star!” mess.
What I wasn’t expecting was the sight of Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy in a bad cop-bad cop routine, interrogating dancers beneath a single, swinging lightbulb to determine whether or...
