- Producer
Eddy Mansfield, a successful producer of television programming for over twenty years, heads up Mansfield Entertainment's executive management team. His dynamic leadership makes possible the development, production, and marketing strategies and drives revenue streams and cash flow, while building asset value and ultimately, enhance shareholder value.
Eddy worked in the spotlight as a professional sports figure for many years before endeavoring to pursue a career in television; first as a professional baseball player, then as one of the top ten professional wrestlers worldwide. Eddy held that prestigious position for ten years. A move to New York enabled him to do what he enjoys doing best - produce television programming.
As an Emmy-award winning producer and well-seasoned veteran of television, Eddy's credits both in front of the camera and behind are impressive. At the onset of his production career, he appeared in numerous national television commercials for Prudential Bache, Tire Kingdom, Continental Tire, Company, Muscular Dystrophy (with the late Wolfman Jack), to name a few.
Eddy grabbed the attention of the wrestling world when he became the first producer to secure a production deal with a major studio, Universal. It was the first time professional wrestling was 'sound staged'. His creativity and attention to every aspect generated a new energy and excitement. As president, he made sure every show came in at or below budget. When other television projects came available a few years later, Eddy availed himself of the opportunities. Years later Eddy would produce, direct and write ten one-hour shows for the XWF, marking the return of Hulk Hogan. Episodes also starred rock-and-roll legend Gene Simmons of KISS, Alice Cooper, Willie Nelson, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Rowdy Roddy Piper. The production value was a credit to Eddy's ability to think big and deliver.
