Looks like Harmonizers are going to have to wait a bit longer to see all of Fifth Harmony back together. Despite a report suggesting the possibility of new music from the group, a reunion is currently not in the works, multiple sources tell Rolling Stone.
Rumors of a possible reunion first began swirling after the group’s members — Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello — publicly supported Normani’s new album announcement. And on Friday, Page Six published a report that the group was “in talks” of working together again.

For the ninth year, YouTube will serve as title sponsor at VidCon‘s flagship convention in Anaheim. It’s also signed on as title sponsor for the second annual East Coast edition of VidCon, which will take place in Baltimore this September.
Since 2013, YouTube has been title sponsor for most of VidCon’s Anaheim events, which offer a mix of programming for content creators, their fans, and industry professionals. The one notable exception is VidCon 2022, when the convention returned from two years of Covid cancellations with TikTok as title sponsor.
YouTube reclaimed the title slot for VidCon 2023, will keep that spot for 2024, and now is “[expanding] its support for VidCon” by sponsoring the 2024 Baltimore event as well, VidCon said in a press release.
VidCon Baltimore will take place Sept. 26-29, with tickets going on sale April 2. VidCon is also going back to Mexico City for the third year; that event (not sponsored by YouTube) runs Aug.

Matthew Patrick may be stepping away from his role as the on-screen host of The Game Theorists, but he will stay active in the creator community. The man known as MatPat has been announced as a Featured Creator for VidCon, which will return to the Anaheim Convention Center on June 26, 2024.
Patrick is no stranger to VidCon. In his previous appearances at the annual convention, he has shared insights from his behind-the-camera work as a digital strategist and consultant. His departure from the Theorist Media brand — which was acquired by startup Lunar X in 2022 — will give him more time to analyze YouTube in detail.
VidCon announced its first batch of 2024 Featured Creators a month ago, when it set the date for the next edition of its Southern California gathering. Ally Brooke spilled some major tea about Fifth Harmony and how they are paid in an interview earlier this year.
The 30-year-old hitmaker sat down on the Zach Sang Show to open up about being part of the famous girl group responsible for hits such as “Work From Home.”
During the conversation, she got very honest about everything from how much money she, Lauren Jauregui, Normani, Dinah Jane and Camila Cabello were making off their mega-hits. The number will shock you.
She also addressed relationships with her bandmates and where they stand today. In the process, she revealed that she had lost one of the girl’s phone numbers, forcing them to reconnect through publicists.
Ally spoke candidly about what Fifth Harmony means to her now, what she thought when they went on hiatus and what it took for her to be able to listen to the group’s music again.

Dinah Jane was in bumper-to-bumper traffic from L.A. to her native Orange County when she put on Under the Tree, a Christmas EP recorded by her Fifth Harmony bandmate Ally Brooke. “I was going, ‘Oh my gosh, this is actually so good,'” Dinah remembers. “I loved every song.”
The production on “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” impressed her so much that an idea popped into her head: What if she reached out to Ally to record a duet version of the song? “I was actually really nervous.

Dinah Jane had a “bad bitch” wake-up call earlier this summer. The former Fifth Harmony member was preparing to perform at a local queer bar in her hometown Orange County. It was her first time on stage in over three years and she wasn’t sure how many people were going to show up.
Dressed in an Anaheim Angels jersey and silver high heels, Dinah took the stage and marveled at the number of people who were there to witness her return. “People were packed like sardines in there!” Dinah tells Rolling Stone.

When asked for one word to describe Asian and Pacific Islander media in 2022, Blade of the 47 Ronin actor Yoshi Sudarso said, “diverse.”
The crowd present at Thursday night’s Asian Pacific Islander Excellence Celebration certainly matched Sudarso’s words. Chinese American reality television stars rubbed elbows with Polynesian American musicians and Southeast Asian American silver screen actors at Casita Hollywood, where The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix and Gold House teamed up for a celebration of the Api community’s 2022 successes.
“If you think about the way Hollywood looked at our culture 20 years ago, we were deemed culturally irrelevant,” said Hasan Minhaj. “Now, we’re making some of the most relevant, poignant, cutting-edge work.”

Ten years ago today, five performers, each now legends in their own right, came together in perfect harmony. July 28 marks Fifth Harmony's 10th anniversary since their formation on "The X-Factor," and to commemorate the occasion, they each reminisced on the decade that transformed their lives forever. The group, which originally consisted of Camila Cabello, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani, were initially put together by Simon Cowell on the show. After placing third in the competition, the girls went on to release tremendous pop hits such as "Sledgehammer" and "Worth It."
Although the band fragmented when Cabello left in 2016 to pursue a solo career and the remaining members proceeded to announce an indefinite hiatus in 2018, the love and friendship the band cultivated throughout their time together never went away. Each member is now pursuing their own career in music, but they look on the past with a certain nostalgia.

R&B is wallowing in its past: It feels like nearly every commercially successful R&B single at the moment is built on a prominent sample or a conspicuous interpolation of an old hit.
It’s not the act of sampling itself that’s troubling. The sampler is one of the more extraordinary inventions in the history of pop music. Time and time again, sampling, interpolating or just honoring old records has led to vital creations, from Janet Jackson’s “That’s the Way Love Goes” to D’Angelo’s “Send...

Marc E. Bassy performed a sultry “Love Her Too” featuring G-Eazy on Monday during The Late Late Show With James Corden. Backed by a band that included two backup singers and flooded by seductive red lighting, Bassy’s track finds the pair navigating respective love triangles and proposing turning them into three-way relationships.
“If I love her and I love you/ Could you love her, too?” Bassy beckons on the chorus. “Walking away from her/ I’m afraid to do/ The moment I choose one bae/ One piece of my heart gonna lose.

Fifth Harmony recently surprised their fans by announcing their official hiatus as a group in order to pursue solo projects. That means Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei and already-gone-solo former member Camila Cabello will be on their own. So who will have the most successful solo career? We asked our readers, and a majority of them (58%) said it would be Cabello. Scroll down to see the complete poll results at the bottom of this post.
To be fair to her former band mates, Cabello had already gone solo, so we don’t need to imagine what her solo career might look like. She left the group in December 2016, and since then she released a number-one single, “Havana” with Young Thug, and a number-one album, “Camila.” So at the moment she’s the benchmark against which the other four members will be compared.
