Description: The latest serial killer project to hit the crowdfunding circuit draws influences from Japanese mythology, horror filmmaking, and the world of social media stars. It's called The Mask of Sanity, and it comes from filmmaker Francisco J. Núñez.
The Mask of Sanity stars Toru Uchikado, best known for his role in the NBC series Heroes: Reborn, as Oliver, a serial killer who maintains a strong presence on social media. His most notable quality is his tendency to wear a Kitsune mask while committing his crimes. When his digital fame inspires a copycat killer, he must fight back to "reclaim his legacy."

It seems 2015/2016 shall be marked as the TV season that saw the resurgence of old shows reborn in mini-series form (or “event series” as the Us networks so desperately want us to call them). Its also the year that these returning shows, The X-Files and Heroes Reborn, did nothing but disappoint the fans who loved the shows and hoped – beyond all hope it turns out – that these new iterations would recapture what made the original series so good.
Heroes Reborn comes from original series creator Tim Kring (Heroes, Touch, Daybreak) and begins a year ago, in Odessa, Texas after a terrorist attack leaves the city decimated. Those with extraordinary abilities are blamed for this tragic event forcing them into hiding...

Knowing that Heroes Reborn is unlikely to return, fingers crossed that next week's finale resolves its many dangling threads...

The news spilling out of NBC this week that Heroes Reborn is highly unlikely to return for a second season won’t come as a big shock to many. Amusing as it is to imagine Heroes head-honcho Tim Kring going full-on Partridge and telling the boss of NBC to “give me a second series, you shit”, the truth is that even before the show aired last September, the general feeling was that this would be a one-time deal. Quite frankly, it was a miracle that the project even got commissioned in the first place given the state Heroes was in when it ended its initial four season run. Viewers might not be clamouring for a second season then but what they undoubtedly...

"Heroes Reborn" begins — as it all but certainly had to — with a philosophical monologue. Noah Bennett (Jack Coleman), aka Hrg, aka the most popular "Heroes" character returning for a major role in this sequel miniseries, is considering all that's happened to the world since the original series ended, and the strained relationship he has with daughter Claire. "When you look back at the things you've done, the decisions that you've made" Noah ponders, "the last thing you want to feel is regret. Am I right?" I don't know how much regret "Heroes" creator Tim Kring feels over the way the show went from phenomenon to punchline in only a few years. But it's telling that the first hour of the two-hour "Heroes Reborn" premiere (it airs tomorrow night at 8 on NBC) is book-ended by musings — first by Hrg, then by ponderous scientist Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) — about how much better...

First came a teaser poster, and now NBC is continuing to ramp up the marketing campaign for Heroes Reborn as evidenced by this haunting new trailer. While the initial teaser for the upcoming event series featured nothing more than an enigmatic look at an eclipse and quick glimpses of stars Jack Coleman and Zachary Levi, this new video kicks things up a notch and features the world asking, “Where are all the heroes?”
While the trailer elicits Bonnie Tyler’s “I Need A Hero,” it’s actually a pretty dark and intriguing look at the Heroes universe, which has undoubtedly changed quite a bit since the original series came to a close five years ago. The show concluded with Hayden Panettiere’s character outing herself as a superpowered individual and effectively blowing the lid off of all the other supers in hiding. How will that decision effect Heroes Reborn? We...

Not much is yet known about Heroes Reborn, the upcoming event miniseries from NBC that hopes to both cash in on and reinvigorate the love that audiences once had for Heroes back in 2006. We do know that it will exist in the same universe as the original series and include cameos and guest appearances from several familiar faces, but how the slew of new superpowered individuals fit into the fold remain a mystery.
NBC appears to be ramping up the marketing campaign for the series, as evidenced by a new poster that brings back the familiar solar eclipse logo and promises that “A new phenomenon” is about to begin. Whether or not that claim is premature remains to be seen; after the original series’ swift ratings decline and critically derided later seasons, the network is going to have to do a lot of legwork to get people interested in this IP again.

Original Heroes characters Peter and Nathan Petrelli (played by Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar, respectively) won’t be returning for this year’s miniseries restart, Heroes Reborn, but that doesn’t mean that their cold, manipulative, conniving mother will miss the party.
According to EW, Cristine Rose, who played Angela Petrelli over the course of Heroes‘ four seasons, has joined the new show’s ever-expanding list of familiar guest stars. Similarly to the likes of her former co-stars Greg Grunberg, Jimmy-Jean Louis, Masi Oka, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Noah Gray-Cabey, Rose won’t have a large role to play in the new show, and will instead appear in a smaller arc.
Those concerned that the returning cast members will steal some of the spotlight from the new additions should rest assured, as creator Tim Kring has ruled out the return of some of the show’s biggest stars (like Hayden Panettiere,...

For a series that was initially greenlit as a tangential offshoot, Heroes Reborn has certainly gathered up quite a few cast members from the original show. We already know that Heroes veterans Jack Coleman (Noah “Hrg” Bennet), Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman) and Jimmy Jean-Louis (The Haitian) will be returning in recurring and guest roles, and now, it’s been announced that two more familiar faces have been added to that list.
Sendhil Ramamurthy, who played Dr. Mohinder Suresh, and Noah Gray-Cabey, who played young Micah Sanders, have both jumped aboard Heroes Reborn in guest roles. Unfortunately, we have no idea what they’ll be doing, how many episodes they’ll show up in or what their characters have been up to since we last saw them. Micah’s return will perhaps be the most jarring though, as Gray-Cabey is now 19 years old and no longer sports...

Heroes Reborn has added another member to its team, but it still remains to be seen whether this new addition will be a hero or someone more villainous. Covert Affairs actress Nazneen Contractor is joining NBC’s upcoming revival in a “mysterious” new role. Contractor will be playing Farah, who Deadline describes as a “mysterious character” that is “militant, tough and stoic.” In addition to Covert Affairs, Contractor’s past TV credits include 24 and Revenge and, more recently, Scorpion, Castle, and Stalker. In addition to Contractor, the cast of Heroes Reborn will feature many new faces, such as Chuck‘s Zachary Levi, Judi Shekoni (EastEnders), Henry Zebrowski (A to Z) Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time), Ryan Guzman (Pretty Little Liars), Kiki Sukezane (The Yokai King), Pruitt Taylor Vince (The Mentalist), Eve Harlow (The 100), Francesca Eastwood, and Toru Uchikado. Along with these new actors, the show’s cast will also include many Heroes alumni,...

Everything appears to be just super for the cast of Heroes Reborn, at least in this first photo of them all, which was posted on Twitter yesterday by series star Zachary Levi. “It begins,” Levi wrote, meaning that Heroes Reborn will most likely start production on its first episode sometime this week (if it hasn’t started already). With Levi in the photo are his many Heroes Reborn cast members, including Judi Shekoni (EastEnders), Henry Zebrowski (A to Z) Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time‘s Peter Pan), Ryan Guzman (Pretty Little Liars), Kiki Sukezane (The Yokai King), Toru Uchikado, and Jack Coleman, who will reprise his role as Noah Bennett/Hrg from the original Heroes in the new series.
