Veteran YouTuber Roman Atwood has joined nascent talent management firm Underscore Talent, formed in January by a trio of former Studio71 executives: Michael Green, Reza Izad, and Dan Weinstein.
Atwood’s family, with whom he frequently vlogs, will also be repped by the firm, as it looks to expand their reach into new formats. Underscore will also work on strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and IP development.
The signing arrives as Atwood has recently returned to creating content on his channel -- which is home to 15.6 million subscribers and over 5.3 billion lifetime views -- after a year-long hiatus. In January, Atwood shared that he’d left YouTube as a result of harassment from several dangerous stalkers

YouTube is adding to its portfolio of family-friendly Red originals alongside the prank maestro-turned-daily vlogger Roman Atwood, who has amassed more than 23 million subscribers across his two channels to date. While Atwood’s content has ignited controversy in the past -- including several prank videos in which he has pretended to murder his children -- the 34-year-old father of three has now abandoned his prank channel (10 million subscribers) and settled on family vlogs (13 million subscribers).
Roman Atwood’s Day Dreams will see Atwood, his family, and a team of volunteers staging extreme projects to make people’s wildest dreams come true, according to a release -- including creating a monster truck playground in his backyard and attempting a tricycle backflip at Nitro Circus. It sounds vaguely similar to Furze World Wonders, another family-friend YouTube Red series from backyard inventor Colin Furze, in which he puts his invention skills to good use to help other people.

Ahead of its 2017 NewFronts presentation (which it will deliver via a digital stream rather than a live event), Studio71 announced that it would launch an incubator program alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. That, however, was not the only piece of Studio71 news to go live ahead of the network’s pitch to advertisers. It also shared a press release in which it revealed programs it plans to produce alongside top YouTube stars.
Studio71’s roster of partners includes digital media notables Lilly Singh, Rhett & Link, and Family Fun Pack, all of whom will launch new shows on their respective channels alongside the network. Family Fun Pack, for example, will “feature new musical talent” for its subscribers while pushing the scope of its operation up to five channels in total. Rhett & Link will also spread themselves across multiple destinations, with a food-related program serving as the next addition for their recently-launched This Is Mythical hub.

The latest YouTube star to attach his personal brand to a mobile video game is Roman Atwood. Atwood, a prankster whose antics have allowed him to gather close to ten million subscribers on his primary YouTube channel, teamed up with developer Super Lame Games to release an app called Smile Inc. on October 21st. Two days later, according to Atwood, the game passed the two million download mark.
Smile Inc., like several other games released by YouTube stars, falls within the endless runner genre. Its name references Atwood’s Smile More brand, and its setting is the Smile More office, where players must dodge all manner of hazards and survive for as long as they can. The game is free to download and play, with in-app microtransactions giving players the opportunity to purchase additional characters and weapons.
Immediately after Smile Inc.’s launch, Atwood’s fans flocked to it en masse.

Lance Stewart's vlogs can sometimes be a bit rough around the edges, but that's the way he likes it, and his fans seem to enjoy his style, too. Stewart's videos, which discuss his life and his relationships with his friends, family, and girlfriend, have propelled him -- with some help from "clickbait" titles and the occasional misleading thumbnail -- above one million subscribers. Stewart's latest headline-grabbing move came in late August, when he accidentally sliced off a piece of his finger while attempting to shoot a real-life Fruit Ninja video. As he continues to document his recuperation from that injury, he talked to us about his digital presence.
Tubefilter: How does it feel to have one million subscribers? What do you have to say to your fans?

Mobile live-streaming services are jostling for position in their young, fast-growing field, and one way for them to distinguish themselves from competitors is through high-profile partnerships. One of those services is Live.me, and its pact with YouTube star Roman Atwood has paid off big time. A recent stream hosted by Atwood attracted more than 1.1 million viewers, making it the most-watched broadcast in Live.me history.
Atwood, known for his prank videos, used Live.me to film himself as he destroyed a police car he owns by running over it with a monster truck. The time has finally arrived for YouTube viewers to smell what The Rock is cooking. The former wrestling star and current film star has released the first video on his new channel, and it’s a collaboration with several of the Internet’s most popular content creators, including Lilly Singh, Markiplier, and Roman Atwood.
The video is set on a remote island in the South Pacific, which is home to a secret facility at which all popular YouTube videos are made. Singh, whose friendship with Johnson is well-documented, takes the Hollywood star on a tour, and the two of them encounter a number of top YouTubers along the way. Markiplier engineers cat videos, LaurDIY and Alex Wassabi perform couples yoga, Grace Helbig, Flula, and King Bach try to pull off some double rainbow shenanigans, and, in the final room, a bunch of Rock impersonators show off their best People’s Eyebrows.

YouTuber Roman Atwood’s latest video is part prank, part branded content, and part environmental activism. The infamous prankster partnered with toilet paper brand Scott to promote its tubeless rolls, which the company has created to cut down on the 66,000 cardboard rolls that it says are wasted every two minutes.
The prank -- relatively tame compared past clips in which Atwood has pretended to murder his son -- consisted of Atwood picking up YouTuber friends Logan Paul, FouseyTUBE, and The Dudesons in a brand new BMW i8. He pretends to have trouble with the car, before plowing it through a garage where 66,000 toilet paper rolls rain down on the vehicle from above.
Scott says the video aims to bring the environmental impact of those tubes to life “in a jarring way.”

A feature film starring three of YouTube’s most popular practical jokes has arrived, fittingly, on April Fools’ Day. Natural Born Pranksters, which is led by Roman Atwood, Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, and Dennis Roady, is now available in theaters, on video on-demand platforms like iTunes, and on home video.
In their film, Atwood, Zdorovetskiy, and Roady pull off some of their most extravagant stunts yet, with unsuspecting targets falling victim. A few other YouTube stars, including Tom Mabe, Jenna Marbles, and Furious Pete, show up to lend some helping hands. I’ve previously described Natural Born Pranksters as “Jackass re-spun for the YouTube crowd,” and the film’s trailer backs up that characterization.
Natural Born Pranksters has been in the works since 2014, when Collective Digital Studio -- which has since merged with Studio 71 and adopted the German network’s name -- announced its plan to harness the star power of the titular pranksters.
