Last week “The Voice” experienced one of the biggest mass eliminations ever when NBC’s reality TV show said goodbye to a whopping eight artists. In our recent poll we asked “The Voice” viewers which of the eliminated contestants was most “robbed” of a spot in the Top 9, and the results are in: it’s a tie! Cedrice of Team Kelly Clarkson and Joei Fulco of Team Blake Shelton both came in with leading 21% support (see poll results below). Do you agree or disagree with your fellow “The Voice” fans? Sound off down in the comments section.

And then there were nine. In one of the biggest mass eliminations in “The Voice” history, the Top 17 artists have been pared down to the Top 9. Thanks to a combination of viewer votes and coach saves, the finalists are: CammWess and Zan Fiskum from Team John Legend, Allegra Miles and Thunderstorm Artis from Team Nick Jonas, Megan Danielle and Micah Iverson from Team Kelly Clarkson, and Toneisha Harris, Todd Tilghman and Joanna Serenko from Team Blake Shelton.

As The Voice hurtled toward Season 18’s finish line Tuesday, a whopping eight singers were sent home. Well, metaphorically speaking; technically, they already were home.
Based on Monday’s performances — and your responses to TVLine’s poll — it seemed like a safe bet that the four artists immediately voted through were going to be Team Nick Jonas’ Thunderstorm Artis, Team Blake Shelton’s Todd Tilghman, Team John Legend’s CammWess and Team Kelly Clarkson’s Micah Iverson. Nick, I figured, would save Allegra Miles; John, Zan Fiskum; Kelly, Mandi Thomas (though I was rooting for Megan Danielle); and Blake, Toneisha Harris.

On Tuesday’s results episode of “The Voice,” the Top 17 artists will be pared down to the Top 9 in one of the most dramatic eliminations in the history of the reality TV show. Here’s how it all works. One member of each team will advance based on the overnight votes of the audience following their stay-at-home performances on Monday night. Coaches John Legend, Nick Jonas, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton will then get to save one artist each to make a Top 8. The ninth contestant will be chosen via the live instant save on social media. Yep — that means one judge will end the night with three artists on their team while the others will only have two apiece.

Going live-ish during these trying quarantimes, The Voice entered uncharted territory Monday, staging its Playoffs with coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas as well as the Top 17 being beamed in from their homes (or thereabouts), and Carson Daly coming to us from the audience-less set. And for the most part, it went spectacularly well. Better than most of my Zoom chats, anyway.

“The Voice” viewers have been voting all week for which of Blake Shelton‘s artists they want to win Season 18, and the poll results are in. With a leading 48% of the vote, 44-year-old Toneisha Harris tops all of the other contestants on Team Blake. This Roswell, Georgia native originally auditioned with “I Want to Know What Love Is” in the blinds and quickly became a rare four-chair turn. If Toneisha pulls out a win in the May 19 finale, it would bring Blake his seventh victory after Jermaine Paul (Season 2), Cassadee Pope (Season 3), Danielle Bradbery (Season 4), Craig Wayne Boyd (Season 7), Sundance Head (Season 11) and Chloe Kohanski (Season 13).

As we lurch ever closer to the uncertainty of whether The Voice will be able to stage any kind of live episodes in Season 18, the pretaped Knockouts kicked off Monday. And did they ever pack a punch! At least one sing-off — Team Kelly’s CammWess and Megan Danielle’s — was so impressive, it made me rethink my stance on how easy the coach’s decisions are. It also led to the strangest tangent ever about what it’s like when Blake Shelton blows out his Spanx. (It resembles a half-open can of biscuits, it turns out.) How was the rest of the night?...

Producers of “The Voice” have a radical new idea for the Knockout round of Season 18, which begins Monday night. Cedrice, one of the favorites on “The Voice” Season 18, was dealt a huge blow during Monday’s final battle episode when her coach John Legend pit her against powerhouse singer Thunderstorm Artis. Both artists had a realistic shot of making it to the finale, so did Legend goof by pairing them up against each other, thereby risking losing one of them? Luckily for Cedrice, rival coach Blake Shelton used his steal on her after Legend eliminated her and kept Thunderstorm. Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas then congratulated Shelton on his decision in a rare show of unity from the competitive judges. Watch the haunting cover of “Stay” by Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko above.

We’re halfway through “The Voice” Season 18 blind auditions, with each coach coming closer and closer to completing their teams. As of this writing, Blake Shelton has 6 of his 10 artists, while Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas currently have 5 of 10. Yep, you read that right. As Kelly explained during Monday’s episode, this season the coaches’ teams will consist of 10 contestants apiece as opposed to the normal 12. With all four Blocks being utilized already, that means “The Voice” judges will have to rely on their savvy pitches in order to convince the remaining artists to join them.

It's been about a year since we last heard anything about Albert Pyun's Cyborg Nemesis, but it has expanded its title to Cyborg Nemesis: The Dark Rift and gotten some new artwork and a teaser trailer.
Pyun is almost done with the production and tells us of the film's lead, Joei Fulco: "She is going to be a big star; she's amazing in Cyborg Nemesis and is only 16 years old!" He adds, "We have one more shoot to do at the end of June and expect it to include a well known action star I've worked with previously."
As for the teaser, beware that it only has a rough temp sound mix and the VFX shots are not final yet either, but it should give you an idea of where Pyun is going with the film, which is drawn from the world of Cyborg and the action of Nemesis.
