You never see the color blue in “Beneath the Blue Suburban Skies,” an unassuming slice-of-life family drama in brittle black and white. But Edward Burns still dares you to imagine the soothing shade stretching over the nearly identical middle-class homes of a commuter town outside of New York, symmetrically assembled with unexceptional yards rubbing shoulders with one another. A couple of years ago, Edward Burns appeared in a TNT limited series called Mob City. It didn't perform very well in the ratings. Now, he's back on the network in a much bigger role -- as an actor, director, and writer. Will Public Morals be a success for Burns and the cable channel? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Set in early 1960s New York City, Public Morals revolves around the professional and personal lives of the members of the NYPD's Public Morals Division. They enforce the vice laws that are still on the books but that no one wants to enforce -- prohibiting crimes like gambling and prostitution. The large cast includes Edward Burns, Michael Rapaport, Elizabeth Masucci, Katrina Bowden, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Wass Stevens, Keith Nobbs, Austin Stowell, Patrick Murney, Lyndon Smith, Brian Wiles, and Cormac Cullinane.

Written by Nic Vav Zeebroeck and Michael Sopczynski
Directed by Sylvain White
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on CBS
“Endgame” kicks off Person of Interest‘s three-episode arc with stakes that don’t get a whole lot higher, as Officer Carter (Taraji P. Henson) goes on the offensive against Hr. True to form, “Endgame” is another solid installment from Person of Interest. Seldom does this show ever fail to provide an effective episode and this week is no different. The shake-up of the show’s format is a welcome change. Most episodes follow Reese, Finch, and Shaw, with Carter on her own adventure and this week is very similar, except much more attention is spent on Carter’s dealings.
