Bret VandenBos is a TV writer with a professional background in political communication and speechwriting. He is a writer-producer on The CW's Walker, and also served as a consulting producer on CBS' Silence of the Lambs series - Clarice. Prior to joining Walker, Bret wrote on the CW's Valor, CBS' MacGyver, TNT's King & Maxwell, and SyFy's Hunters. He has developed and sold original one-hour drama pilots to FX, DC Universe (now HBO Max), and CBS. Politically, he has served as a speechwriter to the last two Mayors of Los Angeles -- Eric Garcetti and Antonio Villaraigosa.
Bret is a graduate on the University of Southern California's Writing
for Film & Television program, where he now teaches. While at USC Bret - and his writing
partner Brandon Willer - won the Josh Schwartz scholarship for dramatic
TV Writing, and were finalists for the Humanitas Student Drama
Fellowship. After graduation, they were members of the 2013 CBS Writer
Mentorship Program.
