The last time Ciera Eastin played Survivor, she infamously voted off her own mother.
So when Eastin decided to play the game again, she knew she would be targeted early as a threat. After all, if she'll vote for her mom, she'll do just about anything.
But something funny happened on this season – everybody was a threat in some way. As a result, Eastin made it for 26 days despite being on the wrong side of the numbers after the merge.
As she scrambled to stay alive, she begged the other contestants to "just play the game." And they did: Eastin...

"Survivor" Season 31 (yes, can you believe it?) is now airing, and "Survivor: Second Chance" is one of the best competitions CBS has ever aired. Maybe it's the returning players, all "losers" hungry for a win, or the many twists that have only improved the gameplay and have yet to feel like desperate gimmicks. It's rare to have so many players pushing to win, with very different strategies, and we can't wait to see who ends up the sole survivor of "Survivor: Cambodia."
Who will it be?
Well, the edits certainly give us some hints. For example, we could've told you it wouldn't be Kelly Wiglesworth even before she was eliminated in Episode 9, since she had almost no screen time, including confessionals. Spencer Bledsoe is still the confessional king. The producers have him narrating the season, like this is his story and everyone else is a supporting player. Then again,...

Before the season premiere of Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance, host Jeff Probst promised viewers that the season would be brutal.
"These contestants are getting a second chance to play a game that millions of people want to play," Probst told People. "It is not going to be easy for them."
Case in point: the seasons' second immunity challenge. In an exclusive sneak peek at Wednesday night's episode, teams climb over increasingly steep A-frame walls – and it doesn't go smoothly.

Survivor: Second Chance recap Season 31, Episode 1 (original airdate Sept. 23) For the first time ever 20 former survivors get the opportunity for a second chance at being named the “sole survivor.” For Survivor: Cambodia: Second Chance — the series’ 31st season — fans definitely took an out-of-sight, out-of-mind mentality as almost half of the 20 castaways selected come from just the past three seasons. Season 28, Survivor: Cagayan, has the largest pool of alumni and smarts with Woo, Tasha, Spencer and Kass all returning. A new "Survivor" champ has been crowned and the winner is ... Mike Holloway! This season, the competitors were divided into tribes based on their social class: white collar, blue collar and no collar. Holloway was a member of the blue collar tribe, Escameca, ending up in the top three with Carolyn Rivera and Will Sims. He beat out his competition in all three challenges and got some help from an unexpected guest ... his mom! Congrats on being the Sole Survivor, Mike! Rather than selecting returning players unilaterally and listening to fans complain about the latest return for Rupert or a confusing return for a castaway even superfans don't remember, "Survivor" has left the decision somewhat up to America to determine the 20 castaways for Season 31. On Wednesday (May 6) at the end of the latest episode of the less-than-lackluster "Survivor: Worlds Apart," CBS formally announced what had long been rumored across the Interwebs. There are 32 candidates up for the "Second Chance" season. As the word "second" implies, this season will only be open to one-time former players who didn't win, so all of your Hantzes and Ruperts are out. Thank God. Instead, this group of 32 includes contestants going back to original "Survivor: Borneo" runner-up Kelly Wigglesworth. And then there are five candidates from the current season, including two who haven't been eliminated yet, which is either an annoying spoiler or not, but I'm...

Pre-credit sequence. I really want an explanation for Josh and Baylor's Tribal Council votes. Will we get one as we return to Coyopa? Yup! Kinda! "There's a method to my madness. It's been a few years since I've talked with Jeff Probst either before a "Survivor" season or before a finale and I'd forgotten that I probably needed to request three or four hours as an interview time. Jeff Probst is in his 28th season of hosting "Survivor" and he still loves talking about the game, talking about his favorite players and the constant surprise that each season brings. You may not agree with his take on things -- I tend to root more for the underdogs, while Probst's love and admiration for certain Alpha Dog contestants is famous/notorious -- but you can't doubt his passion, even if it's for something like this season's all-power Tyler Perry Idol, which has been the source of ample grumbling on my weekly recaps. Tony, the finder of the Tyler Perry Idol, is a Jeff Probst kinda "Survivor" player, while death-cheating Spencer is the...

The challenge when analyzing Survivor is finding thrills when the finale reaches a predictable ending. This trend has happened frequently in recent seasons, with Malcolm’s exit from the Philippines being a rare exception. Even so, there’s still plenty to enjoy with Blood vs. Water’s conclusion. Tyson removes any doubts about a victory by taking the final two immunity challenges and choosing the right people. Underdogs like Ciera and Tina are too dangerous to face with this jury. Despite the editing focusing on Monica, she earns just one vote, and the rest go to Tyson. It’s hard to disagree with rewarding a guy who found two idols, built a solid alliance, and dodged stiff challenges from Hayden and Ciera. He’s come a long way from the goofball of the Tocantins or...

They were the last loved one pair in Survivor: Blood vs. Water, and they got there by very different means. Tina Wesson viewed this season of Survivor: Blood vs. Water as her shot at redemption. After going from first (winning The Australian Outback) to worst (being the initial person kicked out of All-Stars), Tina wanted to prove she still had the chops to go all the way. And she almost did, falling just a single day short, after making it back into the game off of Redemption Island, but then being booted once again in the very last vote-off. Gervase Peterson, who joined "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" after not having competed on the show since Season 1, took third place during the finale behind Tyson Apostol and Monica Culpepper. He tells Zap2it that he did consider flipping on Tyson at one point.
Zap2it: Are you glad you returned to "Survivor"? What was different about this time around versus your first season?
Gervase Peterson: Absolutely ecstatic that they brought me back to play again. What was different was really the players. The game is the same, it was the players. They're a lot faster-paced with how they do things. As soon as we got to the beach, Colton came to me and he said here's our alliance -- it's me, you, Aras, Monica and Kat. I was like, "What if I don't like somebody in that alliance? I gotta play with them for 39 days?" ... That's the dumbest thing I ever heard.

Tyson Apostol has provided a lot of comedy on Survivor over the years. Some of it was intentional, with his dry sense of humor and snarky attitude. Some was of the unintentional variety, like when he needlessly changed his vote on Heroes vs. Villains, essentially voting himself out of the game. But the guy went from Survivor sideshow to center stage with a dominant run on Blood vs. Water, finding two hidden immunity idols, winning the last two individual challenges, and making the biggest strategic move of the game in getting rid of Aras and the couples. He was rewarded...

After 39 days, 4 million tears, 1 white rock, and too many burned hidden immunity idol clues to count, Survivor: Blood vs. Water finally crowned its winner Sunday night. My full recap will be up soon, but to sound off on who won, read on for more. [Spoiler Alert: Read on only if you have already watched the season finale of Survivor: Blood vs. Water. Not that I don't want you read this article. But you really should watch the episode first. Just some friendly advice, that's all. Take it or leave it. Totally your call.]
The episode began with seven players still vying for the title of Sole Survivor of Blood vs. Water. But in the end, there could only be one (hence the “sole” in the title), and that one was Tyson Apostol. In his third time playing the game, Tyson checked off all the boxes on his résumé through...

We're down to the final four plus three Redemption Island inhabitants on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water." Who do you think will take home the money?
Hayden and Ciera tried to move against Tyson, but so far, his alliance has stuck by him. Do you think Gervase, Monica and Tyson can go all the way? If they do, do you agree with us that Tyson would win easily?
It'll be interesting to see who comes back into the game from Redemption and if Monica or Gervase can be swayed to side with whomever that is and Ciera. Who do you think is more likely to flip on Tyson?
Join us here starting at 8 p.m. Et/Pt for a live blog of all the finale festivities.
8:00 -- Don't panic, the episode is delayed six minutes because of NFL football.
8:07 -- Let's review the journey of the season, shall we?...

Tina Wesson's daughter Katie Collins is the latest "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" castaway eliminated from the show. She tells Zap2it that she has quite the hate for white rocks now but she loved her time on the show.
Are you glad you went on "Survivor"? Was it harder than you thought it would be?
"You know, my mom did a really good job of setting me up for the show. She told me it was gonna be the hardest thing you ever do. You're gonna starve, it's gonna be emotionally draining. She didn't sugar-coat anything. I knew going in that it was going to be difficult. But the hardest part was building friendships with your castmates. You get really close to these people but you're also playing against them. That sort of emotional strife was harder than I expected."

When we last left "Survivor: Blood vs. Water," Hayden made a desperate appeal for Ciera to swing her allegiance and she went for it, forcing herself, Tyson and Katie to draw rocks, sending Katie to Redemption Island. What will Monica do now?
Kasama
Tyson is irritated that Gervase let it loose that Hayden was going home because Hayden had nothing to lose and his craziness worked. But Tyson loves the game, so he's appreciative of the game play and the Tribal Council shenanigans. Tyson's great. It's not that I don't want him to win, it's just not fun to watch one person rule the roost all the way along.
However, Tyson finally has to reveal that he has the hidden Idol because Monica won't shut up about Hayden or Ciera finding it. It doesn't sit well with her that Tyson didn't tell them before now. Will she consider changing sides?...

Survivor Review, Season 27, Episode 12
“Rustle Feathers”
Airs Wednesday at 8pm (Et) on CBS
It’s amazing to see just how vibrant Survivor feels this season, and the thrills are about more than picking rocks. It starts with the first scene of Hayden drawing out Gervase by crowning Tyson the victor. That conversation sets the stage for everything that follows, including an insane Tribal Council. It’s a rare case where a player with his back against the wall actually makes the correct arguments. By pressing the “Tyson as inevitable winner” story line, Hayden gets Gervase and Monica to say exactly what he wants. Ciera’s understated reactions say it all. She realizes that her road to victory doesn’t go through the Galang alliance. Monica’s reassurance that “four is better than six” isn’t what she wants to hear. Unlike the recent One World and South Pacific seasons, it...

Could "Survivor" be heading for an "Aras vs. Vytas" season? I have no inside information, but the dynamic between Aras, the easy-going former "Survivor" winner, and Vytas, his estranged ex-con, recovering addict brother, was one of the dramatic standouts in "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" and it almost seems like a no-brainer for the show to want one or both of the Baskauskas Brothers back in the future. For years, Aras had family "Survivor" bragging rights, but he seemed to indicate that that was only payback for a childhood of bickering a bullying, setting up emotional wounds that were exposed...

Vytas Baskuaskas had his spot seemingly secured for another few days on Survivor: Blood vs. Water. Laura Morett had already won the Redemption Island duel, but he was well ahead of Tina Wesson in the loser-is-eliminated battle. Then he tried to sneak a peek at Laura’s completed puzzle. Then Laura blocked and twirled it so he couldn’t. And then she went one step further, giving Tina the answers so she could get her biggest competition out of the game. It was a savvy strategic move, but a brutal way for Vytas to be handed his proverbial walking papers,...

Favorites to go all the way Vytas Baskauskas and his brother Aras went home in a one-two punch on Survivor: Blood vs. Water in the past two weeks, becoming the first two members of the jury. Now ETonline catches up with Vytas to analyze his thoughts on what he would do differently, and how the show affected his relationship with Aras.
ETonline: If you could go back and play this season again, is there anything you would do differently?
Vytas: Two things. When Brad got voted out early in the game, I had a sense that Caleb wasn’t too happy with him. I didn’t think he was going to pull the crazy move he did at tribal council, but I was aware of his discontent nevertheless. Since Brad was such an important part of my plan moving forward, I should’ve taken time to help mediate that relationship before we went to vote that...

Vytas Baskauskas was the latest "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" castaway sent home from Redemption Island last week on Thanksgiving Eve. He tells Zap2it that he hopes somebody can make a big move against Tyson.
Are you glad you went on "Survivor"? What was the experience like?
"'Survivor' was a dream come true. I've been a fan of the show for a really long time. It was a fantastic experience to get to play the game. I'll remember it forever."
Were you surprised when you tribe turned against you and send you to Redemption with Aras and Tina?
"Hindsight, I'm not suprirised. I was shocked when it happened just because you look at each relationship you have out there and for me, I analyzed each relationship and I counted that we had the majority and I was pretty confident we were good. But some of the relationships I...

“Namaste, bitches.” Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I know you guys will need some Survivor recapping after your feasting, so let’s get into it. As usual, Laura Morett makes quick work of the puzzle challenge at Redemption Arena. Much to my horror, Laura begins feeding her maternal cohort, Tina Wesson, information to help her finish her puzzle. At the same time, Laura spins her completed puzzle so that Vytas Baskauskas can’t catch a glimpse. Tina wins and Vytas is out. Quel desastre! “Gloves Come Off”
Airs Wednesday at 8pm (Et) on CBS
One of the thrills of Survivor: Blood vs. Water has been watching everyone take a shot and really try to win the game. Even when plans blow up in their face, players aren’t meekly drifting towards their end. This makes it exciting for viewers who don’t want to see Boston Rob make a bunch of dummies look stupid. When Caleb and Hayden realize they can’t win against Tyson, it’s refreshing to watch them work to change their spot. Even though their strategy fails, that doesn’t mean the idea is false. If they had blindsided Tyson or removed Ciera, it would have put them in the driver’s seat to win the game. That risk is worth taking because the reward is a great shot at the finals. It only makes sense...

Each week, host Jeff Probst will answer a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water.
Entertainment Weekly: Very interesting dynamic here at the Redemption Island duel as Vytas tries the old copy-off-the-person-that-has-already-finished trick, yet Laura not only spins her stacked cubes so he can’t copy, but also goes all Mom Power and gives the answers to Tina to get the threat of Vytas eliminated. A very sly strategic move to help control the competition you face in the future as you try to get back in the game. Tell me your reaction when you saw this going down.
