Ryan Seacrest reveals who he wants to replace Katy Perry on American Idol
After speaking with Entertainment Tonight after Monday’s episode, Ryan and Luke were asked who should replace Katy.
They agreed on the same person — Meghan Trainor. The singer was on the show as a coach, and the two guys liked what they saw in her.

The Monday, April 22 live episode of “American Idol” Season 22 proved to be the end of the road for two fan-fave singers: Jayna Elise and Roman Collins. They were the only artists in the Top 12 that failed to earn enough votes from viewers to make it into next week’s all-important Top 10. Host Ryan Seacrest delivered the unfortunate news in front of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The guest mentor for “Billboard #1 Hits” night was Meghan Trainor.
Throughout the competition, Jayna sang tunes like “The Climb” (Auditions round), “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” (Showstopper round), “Confident” (Top 24 round), “My All”, “All I Wanted”, “I Have Nothing” (Top 14 round) and “Diamonds” (Top 12 round). The 22-year-old performer from Washington, D.C. actually began her journey last year on “Idol,” but was eliminated prior to the Season 21 live shows. The good news is that she made it much further this time around.

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for American Idol.] Tensions and stakes ran high as the grueling “Hollywood Week” got underway on American Idol Sunday. This time around finalists had to enter the “Idol Arena,” or as judge Lionel Richie calls it, the gladiator’s pit. The intimate setup had the 143 hopefuls sitting surrounding the stage where they could fully see, hear, and experience their competition. Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel called each singer on the spot not knowing the order. They’d have one round and one shot to impress the judges. Host Ryan Seacrest pushed throughout the evening that this would be the biggest cut in Idol history with only 56 ultimately going through to the “Showstopper” round. If this wasn’t enough, the hopefuls also had witnessed Platinum Ticket holders Julia Gagnon, Odell Bunton Jr., and Abi Carter perform and show why they got to skip to the first round. Talk about a mind you know what.

See ‘American Idol’: Julia Gagnon earns third and final Platinum Ticket for Season 22 [Watch]
Julia Gagnon led the way with nearly half of the votes cast, followed closely by Abi Carter. A chunk of loyal viewers think the trend that no Platinum Ticket winners go all the way will continue. Odell Bunton Jr. has the support of just 3% of our voters, but he has plenty of time to win viewers over in the coming weeks.

“I was born in Guatemala,” Julia explained before she started to sing. “When I was two years old I was adopted out of the orphanage and brought to Maine. Growing up in Maine, when I was younger, was a dream come true. It was picture perfect, there was snow at Christmas and warm summers. It was all amazing. When I entered the school systems it became different. I got bullied a lot. In Maine, not a lot of people look like me and it was really hard to deal with. I don...

Juan Pablo Galavis was a proud dad during the latest episode of American Idol!
The 42-year-old former star of The Bachelor supported his 14-year-old daughter Camila Galavis as she auditioned for the singing competition in front of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, in the episode airing Sunday night (March 24).
While talking about herself and answering questions to get to know her, Camila revealed who her father is, and she brought him out to meet the judges.
Keep reading to find out more…
Juan Pablo noted that he didn’t necessarily want her to audition and tried to hold off as long as possibly, but Camila really wanted it.
“When the opportunity came, and she wanted to do it, I was like, ‘I don’t know if you’re old enough.’ That was last year,” he said. “They say, well, maybe next year and then, here she is,...

"All in the Family" might've been Norman Lear's finest half-hour as a sitcom producer, but I'm not sure he ever put a funnier show on the airwaves than "The Jeffersons." For 11 seasons, Sherman Hemsley's dry-cleaning magnate George Jefferson and Isabel Sanford's good-hearted Louise "Weezy" Jefferson led a stellar cast that delivered edgy-for-network-television laughs revolving around race, class, gender, and whatever happened to be grinding the hot-headed George's gears that particular week. It was the African-American answer to "All in the Family" (on which the characters of George and Weezy originated), and might actually be more shocking today for its fearless deployment of the n-word (particularly early in the series' run).
And if you're making a list of the most memorable theme songs in television history, "The Jeffersons" better be in the top five. Anyone who grew up watching the show in prime time or via syndication should...

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for American Idol.] After an Oscars break, it’s back to the American Idol auditions week 4. Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan continued their trip down memory lane in their hometowns of Santa Barbara, Tuskegee, and Leesburg. They also saw talent in Los Angeles and Nashville. Katy challenged Lionel and Luke in a game of pickleball for a trophy and bragging rights for who had the best hometown. She was seconded by her mom, Mary Hudson. With a score of 8-1, Katy and her mama dominated the competition. It wasn’t all play as the panel of music superstars heard more hopefuls looking to receive a golden ticket and have their Idol journeys continue in Hollywood. The group included powerful performances from a cosmetologist with “Top 10 potential,” a trans waitress, and an English street performer. And an alum returns to the oval for a second chance. Find out how the night unfolded below.

Ramy Youssef recently opened up about his experience directing the “Honeydew” episode of The Bear season two, which saw Lionel Boyce’s Marcus journey to Copenhagen to create three items for The Bear’s dessert menu.
The Poor Things star stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! and explained that while helming the episode, he and Boyce were able to spend a day working at Noma, which was voted the best restaurant in the world every year from 2010-12 and then again in 2014.
“They let me and Lionel work there for a day, which we’ve never [done],” Youssef told Jimmy Kimmel. “We got to work from the beginning of the day, all the way through dinner service. We got to prep. We got to serve people food and make plates.”
