Something wicked is coming to the White House this Halloween season, with the new comic book series The Exorcism at 1600 Penn arriving from Idw.
Writer and creator Hannah Rose May is behind the project, which follows Kelly Doyle, who has just become the first woman elected President of the United States. Doyle is balancing global tensions and being a mother to two teenagers. While trying to stave off World War III, she never imagined that the halls of the White House would become a demonic battleground of good vs. evil.
May is a comic book creator known for Rogues’ Gallery, has also written Harley Quinn for DC and Star Trek: Lower Decks for Idw. As an actor, she has appeared on the final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm and on CBS’ Ghosts.
May says she has has long wanted to play with the horror genre’s tropes in a new setting.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts Season 2, Episode 5, “Halloween 2: The Ghost of Hetty’s Past.”] Ghosts is reaching into the Gilded Age past for its second-ever Halloween installment, “Halloween 2: The Ghost of Hetty’s Past.” Unlike the past Hetty-centric (Rebecca Wisocky) episode featuring a character from her past that was sent to hell, this time around, her great nemesis, Molly the maid (Hannah Rose May) is summoned from an invisible paradise. Occurring on the spookiest evening of the year, the visiting spirit makes her entrance during a seance that Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) put on to impress friends. The visitation gives Hetty the chance to clear the air with the woman she always believed seduced her husband Elias (Matt Walsh), particularly after being schooled on more modern views about power dynamics. Below, Wisocky reflects on Hetty’s journey this season, the pivotal Halloween installment, and teases hopes for future stories.

Like all the actors who play dearly departed spirits on the hit CBS comedy Ghosts, Rebecca Wisocky has become an armchair historian of her character’s era. So she can confirm that the setup of the October 27 Halloween episode — Gilded Age socialite Hetty suggests Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and Samantha (Rose McIver) hold a séance to liven up their poorly attended last-minute Halloween party — is sound: “Spiritualism was very popular and fashionable in the late 19th century,” she says. “I think Hetty would’ve done séances as a party trick more than anything. She references that she threw a séance and only now realizes it didn’t really work and that she lives in a haunted house and was probably getting messed with.” This time is different. “To her horror and dismay, the séance actually works and summons someone Hetty was least interested in seeing ever.” That would be her nemesis,...

Finding themselves at the mercy of Black Krrsantan, Han and Chewie are sort of ‘rescued’ by Khel Tanna and her gang who are also after the urn and are press ganged into working for her. Greedo also makes a welcome return for some great banter with Solo as does Benelex Marshal Vancto
There’s lots of action, double-crossing, a daring rescue attempt on the con-man masquerading as Solo’s father and a cliff-hanger of an ending (no spoilers here!) It’s a hugely entertaining read but my only gripe is that David Messina’s art looks a...

Exclusive: The Iron Man franchise actor’s production label This Radicle Act has optioned Hannah Rose May’s Image Comics comic book Rogues’ Gallery in a competitive situation, Deadline has learned. Don Cheadle has a first look with Industrial Media and the plan is to adapt Rogues’ Gallery into a TV series.
May wrote and created the high concept home invasion thriller, which is set against the backdrop of toxic fandom and obsession, which has art by Marvel’s Spiderpunk artist, Justin Mason.
Rogues’ Gallery follows Maisie Wade, who has just quit her role as the Red Rogue, a massively popular comic book character. But when her abrupt exit from Red Rogue’s hit TV series leads to its unceremonious cancellation, Maisie finds herself trapped in her own home by a group of unhinged superfans. Dressed up in the cosplay of the Red Rogue’s arch villains, these diehards want to teach Maisie a lesson.

"You sick, lonely webcam freak!" Gravitas Ventures has revealed an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Exploited, from filmmaker Jon Abrahams. This is being dumped on VOD this week, and this trailer will paint a pretty clear picture as to why. A college freshman becomes obsessed with the previous owner of his school issued laptop. His quest becomes complicated when he falls in love with his roommate, who's already taken. The mysterious disappearance of the webcam model ends up with their lives being manipulated and blackmailed. The film "tells a provocative story set on a college campus against the backdrop of a voyeuristic hacker. Real world fears such as personal privacy and camming are explored in this psychological thriller." The film stars Sierra McCormick, Makenzie Vega, Leah Pipes, Will Peltz, Spencer List, Jordan Ver Hoeve, Colin Bates, and Hannah Rose May. It doesn't look like there's much to see here - skip it.

Remember Wesley Snipes? He used to do stuff like make movies. In his long career, he's hunt down vampires and future cops. Well, he's Back Bitches! And this time he's hunting aliens!
In his new film, The Recall, Snipes stars alongside five young actors, the names of which you'd probably never recognize unless you know them personally or you are a super fan (stalker). Long story short, Snipes' character is a hunter that has knowledge of an alien invasion and it's up to him to save Earth from them. One exciting thing is that the film will also be released with a Vr experience.

"The last 60 years they've been conducting test runs..." Minds Eye Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for a sci-fi thriller titled The Recall, from Italian concept artist/filmmaker Mauro Borrelli. The film is about a group of friends vacationing at a remote cabin lake house when aliens attack Earth. Soon they meet a mysterious "hunter" who has been predicting the alien's arrival, helping them escape safely. Wesley Snipes plays that hunter and the cast includes Rj Mitte, Jedidiah Goodacre, Vicellous Shannon, Niko Pepaj, Elisha Kriis, Hannah Rose May, Laura Bilgeri, and Guy Griffithe. This looks like a wacky, terrible, straight-to-vhs flick you'd find in the back of the video rental store. But oddly it's going to play in the special ultra-wide-screen Barco Escape cinemas. At least there's some creepy aliens. So, anyone? Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Mauro Borrelli's The Recall, direct from YouTube: The Recall centers...

This morning’s Horror Highlights takes our readers to Hell Town, as Daily Dead did a Q&A with Steve Balderson, the co-writer/co-director of the film. Also: production details and an official poster for The Recall and UK release details for Blackburn.
Daily Dead’s Q&A with co-writer/co-director of Hell Town, Steve Balderson: “Debbie Rochon (Model Hunger, Return to Nuke ‘Em High, The Theater Bizarre) headlines as the hostess of the three surviving episodes of “Hell Town”, following the melodramatic, small-town and potentially short-lived lives of Krysten Day, Amanda Deibert, Owen Lawless, Ben Windholz, Jennifer Grace, and Balderson muse Pleasant Gehman.
