Throughout the course of three seasons, it has been firmly established that the TV series adaptation of Garth Ennis’ cynical take on the superhero genre, The Boys, is insultingly antithetical to the high ideals the said genre tries to preach. In its existing lore, there are power-crazed, murderous superheroes out and about, taking the reins of a society that worships a psychotic, perverted, fascist, megalomaniac superhero leader. Controlling superhero affairs is a centralized giant conglomerate that controls government and media, thereby manipulating people’s perceptions at every single moment and snuffing out dissent with wanton violence. In short, their world totally mimics that of our own, with a few evil, superpowered individuals acting as catalysts.

As Woody Allen took the press conference stage for his recent film Coup de Chance, the disgraced filmmaker was given a lengthy standing ovation by the (largely European) media assembled in the room — arguably the most rapturous reception any filmmaker received. It was difficult to watch.

Comedian Sarah Silverman isn’t in a laughing mood these days as she and two others have sued Meta and OpenAI for using their original content without their permission.
Silverman, Richard Kadrey and Christopher Golden filed a lawsuit in California against Facebook’s parent company and ChatGPT for allegedly using their content to train their artificial intelligence programs.
The lawsuits allege that most of the material used in their training comes from copyrighted works used “without consent, without credit and without compensation.”
The catalyst for their lawsuit is reportedly leaked information about how the two companies operated their artificial intelligence department. The three authors then found that their books were included in the materials used to hone AI capabilities in conversing with a more human tone.
The books in question were specified in the lawsuits as Silverman’s The Bedwetter, Kadrey’s Sandman Slim and Golden’s Ararat.

One of those dreams, she said, is to build a school with teaching tailored to each student’s unique interests, “So a school I would have thrived in.”

Nick Cannon had a few things to say when asked for parenting advice while chatting to Et Canada’s Jed Tavernier.
The father of 12 was asked what kind of a dad he is during his upcoming “One-on-One” special, admitting: “Definitely a disciplinarian, but it’s all out of respect and love. I constantly let my children know how much I love them.
“And I’m a big kid! So I’m probably the cool dad because I’m probably more mischievous and, you know, probably just as wild as they are. But I’m definitely the stern parent.”
Tavernier then questioned whether he had any advice for new dads or anyone wanting to become a parent, to which he replied, “Make sure your partner is on the same frequency as you. Especially in a co-parenting situation, you want to be aligned… similar values, similar ideas on how to raise a child.

Most of the well-known mermaid films are romantic and upbeat, from the tween fantasy "Aquamarine" to Disney's revolutionary animated feature "The Little Mermaid" (which will be reimagined as a live-action movie in May), and the sex comedy "Splash" where Tom Hanks meets a beautiful mermaid who also happens to be the girl of his dreams. But mermaids can also be a nightmare.
In Greek mythology, mermaids — also known as sirens — are half-human, half-sea creatures who are mysterious and inquisitive, but also deceitful. According to folklore from around the world, female mermaids are harborers of doom. They use their bewitching singing voices to hypnotize male sailors and lure them to a watery death. In Homer's "Odyssey," Odysseus forces his men to fill their ears with wax so that they are not tempted by a mermaid's enchanting song.
