Fox is looking to make a literal splash next Super Bowl Sunday, by slotting the freshman action drama Rescue: Hi-Surf after the Big Game on Feb. 9, 2025.

Shoots, da kine “Rescue Hi-Surf” is one lucky TV show, brah. Fox just gave it the cherry timeslot after Super Bowl Lix on Feb. 9, 2025. That’s a big vote of confidence for the freshman drama, which is set to premiere this fall on Monday nights at 9 p.m. Et, after “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
Although the impact of the Super Bowl lead-out has varied over the years, it proved to be a huge boon this year to CBS, which launched “Tracker” after Super Bowl Lviii on Feb. 11 and watched that drama turn into a big hit. The last time Fox aired the Super Bowl, in 2023, it ran an episode of its hit food competition series “Next Level Chef.” And in 2020, Fox aired an episode of another unscripted program, “The Masked Singer.”

Fox last month doubled down on its commitment to Rescue: Hi-Surf, picking up seven additional episodes of the lifeguard drama to bring its first season to 19 episodes. The network now is tripling down on the John Wells Productions series by giving it the biggest platform in television, a berth following the 2025 Super Bowl.
A special episode of Rescue Hi-Surf will air on Feb. 9 after Fox Sports’ presentation of Super Bowl Lix, the network announced Monday morning, ahead of its upfront presentation.
This will be the first time in eight years that Fox will give the post-Super Bowl slot to a scripted series; the last two times the network carried the big game, it went with the unscripted The Masked Singer and Next Level Chef as lead-outs.

With the support of her caring and comical 'ohana (family) and friends, Lahela is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.
Guiding Lahela (and also complicating things) is her career-driven mother, Dr. Clara Hannon, who's also her supervisor at the hospital, her doting father Benny,...

HBO has released the official trailer for its five-episode limited series “White House Plumbers,” set to debut on May 1. The series will take viewers on a “behind-the-scenes” look of the Watergate scandal, starring Nixon’s political saboteurs, E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux). Set in 1971, both Hunt and Liddy have just been hired by the White House to investigate the Pentagon Papers leak when they end up landing on the committee to re-elect the president. “White House Plumbers” aims to pull back the curtain to the events that led up to one of America’s most infamous political crimes.

Janelle James, the actor whose role as principal Ava Coleman on “Abbott Elementary” earned her an Emmy nomination, has been named host of the 75th annual Writers Guild Awards on the West Coast.
“I am honored to be hosting the WGA Awards this year,” James said in a statement. “I was told that I can say whatever I want. And after making sure that was true and that it would not be televised…that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
Hugh Fink, executive producer of the awards show, quipped, “A few years ago, when I first worked with the hilarious and fearless Janelle James, my goal was to get her to host the WGA Awards. To commemorate this amazing event, all nominees will be receiving a 10,000 cash gift, redeemable at all participating Ftx Bitcoin Exchanges.”
“Abbott Elementary” received nods in WGA’s best comedy series and best new series categories.

As we reported back in September, HBO Max has ordered another season of the show. Now Deadline has revealed that season 2 is going to sport a new subtitle. This season is being called Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
