My partner and I had just finished watching the first part of Fear The Walking Dead's third season premiere. Despite new characters, a new setting, new peril, and wall-to-wall (not to mention zombie-through-wall) action, by the time the credits rolled she’d made up her mind that this was as far as she'd be following the Clark family and co on their cross-border, walker-stalker, Ex-Mex shenanigans.

It’s one of those strange quirks about TV land that we viewers just have to accept. In a lot of shows, the characters never use strong language in situations when any normal person would. Take The Walking Dead, for example. In a post-apocalyptic world where walkers lurk around every corner, you would expect F-bombs to be dropped left, right and centre. And yet, the word has never been uttered on the show. That may be about to change, though.
On Sunday night’s episode of spinoff Fear The Walking Dead, history was made with the first usage of the F-word in a broadcast episode of this franchise. The moment happened when Frank Dillane’s Nick Clark saw a load of zombies heading to his community. So, as any of us would, he simply said “F–k.”

Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Colman Domingo as Strand and Danay Garcia as Luciana. Joining the cast as series regulars for season three are British actors Daniel Sharman (The Originals, Teen Wolf) and Sam Underwood (The Following) as well as Dayton Callie (Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood), who will play the Otto family, founders of a survivalist organization who prepared for the fall of democracy, but didn’t anticipate the rise of the dead, and Lisandra Tena (Chicago P.D.) as Lola Guerrero.
As Fear the Walking Dead returns for season three, our families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent region formerly known as the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world’s end, our characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well.

Today at PaleyFest, we learned something new: Zombies can’t swim. But don’t think it’s safe to go back in the water. According to co-creator/Ep/Showrunner Dave Erickson, “They can wade…. We've figured out the best ways to shoot water zombies. They don't drown. They keep floating back up." The explanation came in reference to one of the two exclusive clips shown to the audience at the 33rd annual fan confab. The clip featured Nick Clark (Frank Dilane) under water as a…...

Incredibly it’s been over a decade since Robert Kirkman first introduced the world to the The Walking Dead, and back then even he didn’t conceive just what a success it would be or how deeply entrenched it would become in popular culture. He thought his little black and white zombie book might last half a dozen issues or so, and even killed off one of the main characters at the end of the first six issue arc.
As we know now, however, The Walking Dead has infiltrated every day culture to such an extent that there have been a slew of novels, clothing, memorabilia and video games, as well as a hugely successful television series on AMC. So successful, in fact, that it has now joined the likes of Cheers, Friends, Breaking Bad and The X-Files in spawning its own spin off series, the somewhat underwhelmingly titled Fear The Walking Dead.

The undesirable elements have been taken away from the community. The sick, the mentally ill, the physically addicted... they've all been dragged off by the authorities, and it seems as though everyone's okay with it, except for Ofelia Salazar. She shows up after a brilliant cold opening introducing the smooth and devious Strand (Colman Domingo), throws bottles at the fence and attempts to pick a fight with the soldiers to find out where her mother is. She's not exactly equipped for this new world, as we'll find out shortly. She doesn't know how to get things done in an effective way yet, only able to avoid the same fate as her missing companions thanks to the interference of her military make-out partner Andy (Shawn Hatosy).

1.4 – Not Fade Away
There's an old saying that goes, “Good fences make good neighbours.” However, that rule seems only to apply when you're the person who has chosen to erect the fence. Put up a privacy fence and obstruct someone's view, or erect a fence where laws prohibit fencing, and your action will make you an enemy pretty quickly. In the universe of The Walking Dead, fences make good targets, because there's probably food behind said fences - either the canned kind or the mobile, screaming sort.
Things seem to be going on fairly normally in Nick Clark's neighborhood. His stepfather Travis is out for a run, waving at neighbours and getting up a good sweat. His stepbrother Chris is perched on...

The Performer | Frank Dillane
The Show | Fear the Walking Dead
The Episode | “Pilot” (Aug. 23)
The Performance | We’d only watched the first few minutes of The Walking Dead spinoff — the artful opening vignette in which Frank Dillane took junkie Nick Clark from drug-addled confusion to abject terror — before we knew: A star had been born.
The English actor was so in the moment, so vulnerable and palpably afraid, that we couldn’t help but be drawn in. It was as if, like his character, we were seeing a zombie for the very first time. (And, considering how many walkers we’ve seen by now,...

1.1 Pilot
The Walking Dead hasn't given the viewing audience much information about how the world became overrun with the shambling cannibal corpses that make up the population of the mother series. We got Rick getting shot in the head and waking up in a world already fallen, but not much in between. There was a scene in the second season where a bomb was dropped in Atlanta, and we saw Michonne's home life as her family fell apart in the wake of the zombie attack. But aside from these very rare glimpses, The Walking Dead has been more about survival than looking back at the past.

Fifty Shades of Grey was never much-loved by the critics, but they were much kinder towards Sam Taylor-Johnson's movie adaptation.
It seems the whips are back out for El James's spinoff book Grey. The novel retells the story of the first Fifty Shades novel, this time from the viewpoint of Christian Grey rather than Anastasia Steele.
The Telegraph - Bryony Gordon
"Grey, the fourth book from El James, is about as sexy as a misery memoir and as arousing as the diary of a sex offender.
"The writing is not the offensive thing about this book. It's the sense that, like Ana with Christian, the reader is being duped in to a manipulative relationship with it. In the last chapters, James layers on the sympathy for Grey in a way that feels horribly calculated. "
The Mirror - Francesca Cookney
"While action-hungry fans will be thrilled by the more graphic sex scenes,...

Kevin Spacey was onstage for the opening night of Clarence Darrow at the Old Vic Theater in London when a ringing phone interrupted the play – much to his displeasure.
Kevin Spacey Calls-Out Theatergoer
Oscar-winning actor Spacey put the play on hold to address the member of the audience who failed to put his or her phone on silent before the show. “If you don't answer that I will,” Spacey shouted down to the individual, reported the Daily Mail.
When the cell phone went off, Spacey was in the middle of a monologue in which he was directly addressing the audience. In the scene, his character – a legal pioneer in 19th century America – was on trial defending himself. As Darrow, Spacey was making an impassioned plea directly towards the audience when the ringtone melody began. Spacey continued to perform, but the noise wouldn’t let up, which led him to address the offending theatergoer.
