American actress Phylicia Rashad is one of the most recognizable African-American actresses in Hollywood. With a career of over five decades, Rashad has raked up credits on the small and big screens. Interestingly, Phylicia Rashad began her career in theater. The six-time Emmy-nominated, two-time Tony Award winner has had an impressive acting career. The 75-year-old actress, born Phylicia Ayers-Allen, starred in David Ayer‘s 2024 action thriller The Beekeeper as Eloise Parker. Although she had little screen time as the retired schoolteacher Eloise Parker, her character’s death set in motion the events of the movie. With an impressively extensive career, here’s...

Jason Statham stars as Clay in ‘The Beekeeper’ (Photo Credit: Courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios © 2024 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc)
Man of action Jason Statham is back and this time he’s got bees with him in the action/revenge film The Beekeeper.
Statham stars as Adam Clay, a quiet honey farmer renting space from elderly, retired teacher Eloise Parker (Phylicia Rashad) who also happens to be his only friend. When Parker receives an alert on her computer that it has a virus, she calls the number on her screen, which connects her to the United Data Group company. The company is really a data mining firm, and Parker becomes their next victim, losing her life savings along with $2 million she managed for a charity.
That night, Clay drops by to deliver some honey and discovers her lifeless body. She shot herself, unable to live with her mistake. This sends Clay on...

When a kindly old woman loses everything, her friendly neighborhood honey farmer strikes out on a brutal campaign of violent vengeance in David Ayer’s latest blast of hyperkinetic action, The Beekeeper. The film finds Jason Statham in his element as Adam Clay, the least unassuming apiarist of all time, with not only a passion for maintaining the hive, but also muscles for days and a very particular set of skills. The sudden scamming of his neighbor Eloise Parker, a blissfully genteel Phylicia Rashad, out of her entire life’s savings and then some, hits her hard enough that Clay feels the need to make sure it never happens to anyone ever again. In order to do so, he’s going to have to take down the slimy...

We all have the inherent understanding that our lives are part of a larger system, an infrastructure that's not only the one humanity has constructed for itself but the one that's existed for many more thousands of years: the natural ecosystem of the planet that we live on. However, it seems that our goal as human beings has been to implicitly make our lives more relaxed, more convenient, and more catered to our every whim, with little care or understanding for how it affects everything around us.
Case in point: the honey bee. While it's general knowledge that bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and their populations are declining (due in large part to climate change), it's also true that not enough is being done to help stop it. The action genre, when boiled down to its core essence, is about overcoming injustice: whether action heroes are on...

You can add The Beekeeper to the long list of action movies named for the jobs their protagonist took up after laying down their weapons and trying to live a peaceful life: The Gardener, The Painter, The Bricklayer… etc, etc. Actually Adam Clay always was a beekeeper, that was the name of the elite unit he was a part of before he retired to actually raise bees. He does this on a farm owned by Eloise Parker somewhere in a very confused part of England that wants us to believe it’s actually Western Massachusetts.
Eloise, who is supposed to be a retired teacher and should know better, falls for one of those computer scams that says you have a virus and to call this number to have it removed.

Chad Stahelski and David Leitch's 2014 film "John Wick" instantly became totemic, casting a long shadow and impacting the way action filmmakers approached their craft. Over the past decade, we've seen the American action movie conform to that style, favoring hard-hitting hand-to-hand combat, more visually dynamic fight choreography, and longer shots that better highlight the action taking place (contrasted with the edit-a-fight-to-bits approach of Paul Greengrass's acolytes from the prior generation). "The Beekeeper," written by genre stalwart Kurt Wimmer and directed by David Ayer, adopts those elements as well — but it goes a step further than most "Wick" riffs and incorporates what really makes that franchise stand out: world-building. There's a unique mythology at play here, elevating the movie to a heightened reality beyond our own.

If you were concerned there wouldn’t be enough unsubtle apiculture metaphors for meting out justice via hellacious ass-whooping in The Beekeeper, you can relax. Even if director David Ayer remains in his usual mode of glowering self-seriousness, whenever Jason Statham snarls about “protecting the hive” or “smoking out the hornets” or “killing the queen,” you get an inkling of how much fun this violent revenge thriller might have been in more playful hands. Still, watching the bullet-headed action star take down squads of government agents and thuggish mercenaries alike, mostly while unarmed, is fun enough. Probably even more so in Imax.
In a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer that’s nothing if not literal, Statham plays Adam Clay, a retired field operative from a top-secret national security force designed to step in and restore order whenever some nefarious criminal situation gets out of hand. Even though he’s no longer a “Beekeeper,...

Time and again, ‘Prince Of Wales’ Prince William is spotted sans his wedding ring on his left ring finger, while Kate Middleton never forgets to sport the significant piece of accessory she received from the Prince while exchanging vows in April 2011. To symbolize their union, Princess received a ring made of Welsh gold, and she’s often snapped wearing a sapphire along with a diamond ring. However, now the reason behind why Prince doesn’t wear a wedding ring has been revealed by a British website.
The Royal couple is co-parenting their three kids- 10-year-old Prince George, 8-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 5-year-old Prince Louis. While Prince Harry will be in attendance at King Charles III’s historic coronation, it’s unlikely he’ll be playing much of a role in his father’s big day.
Et recently spoke with royal expert Eloise Parker, who shared some insights on what will likely go down between Harry and Charles during the grand ceremony on May 6.
“I fully expect Prince Harry to be very much on the sidelines during this ceremony,” Parker shared. “This ceremony is all about King Charles III and the Queen Consort, so I would expect even the Duke and Duchess of Wales, William and Kate, will also be at the sidelines for this [event].”
It was recently revealed that Harry will be attending the coronation alone — while his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children — Prince Archie, 3, and Princess Lilibet, 1 — will remain at home in California.

Inside The Royal Family’s ‘Lack Of Trust’ Toward Prince Harry Ahead Of King Charles III’s Coronation
The Royal Family still has a lot of feelings when it comes to Prince Harry attending King Charles III‘s coronation. Last week, the palace confirmed that the Duke of Sussex would be attending the historic event, although his wife, Meghan Markle, will be at home in California celebrating their son, Archie’s birthday.
However, according to a source, members of the royal family still have thoughts.
“Relationships between Harry and Meghan and the family are still very tense,” a source tells Et.
“The family will be cordial because the King wants his son at his Coronation but there will be no meaningful conversation as there’s still a lack of trust given the revelations in his book and the Sussexes Netflix documentary and the allegations in the Oprah interview.”
Another source shared that the family is still surprised that the Duke is attending without his wife.
