Recently, Dstlry announced The Big Burn, a new creator-owned heist comic written by Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson with art by his longtime collaborator Lee Garbett. Covers from Lee Garbett and Tula Lotay have been previously revealed and we're excited to exclusively debut variant covers from Jock, Becky Cloonan, and Junko Mizuno.
"Owen and Carlie are the Bonnie and Clyde of the 21st century - a smooth, slick duo who pull off impossible heists, and have the time of their lives doing it. But when justice finally catches up to them, they think it's all over. Until the Devil himself offers them a deal - their freedom for their very Souls. But they soon find that without their souls, their love is missing too. So they set out to recruit a crew of the damned for the ultimate heist: break into Hell and steal their souls back.

“Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state?” asks Loki Laufeyson of Asgard, standing amidst a group of humans in The Avengers. “You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel.” As demonstrated by his position over the prostrate throngs before him, Loki believed that he was made to rule as much as humans were made to kneel. His glorious purpose, as he loved to remind anyone who listened, was power over others.
The Disney+ series Loki followed a variant of the trickster god shortly after the Avengers thwarted his plans to rule. Over two seasons this Loki has suffered the worst humiliations, learning in the grand view of the universe, he amounted to nothing more than a mistake to be pruned. He has found a new belonging, fighting to save the Tva alongside new friends Mobius and Sylvie.

One of the most exciting comic book industry announcements this year has been the formation of Dstlry, a new creator-owned publisher where the creators own part of the company, including writers and artists such as James Tynion IV, Scott Snyder, Jock, and more. Taking its name after the whiskey aging process, the debut publication is cleverly titled The Devil's Cut, and is a collection of 11 short stories, eight of which lead into full series.
One of those teams creating a full series is James Tynion and Christian Ward, who have been working on a haunted house epic titled Spectregraph, which is also the first story in the collection. We're thrilled to exclusively reveal a new direct-to-consumer variant cover for The Devil's Cut from Christian Ward for "Spectregraph" available only through www.dstlry.co, along with some incredible concept art!

Firstly, what a stunning cover. Reminds me of the Frank Brunner stuff from the 1970’s. If that’s what Kaare Andrews was shooting for, it’s a bullseye. If not, a damn good unintended tribute. So, it’s another Marvel event, albeit a mini-one this time. Doctor Strange gets a 5 issue mini-series, with a few on-shots sprinkled in for good measure. This was an easy pick up for me. I love Doctor Strange as a character, and feel he’s not always given the respect due to him. I know a former top surgeon/sorcerer supreme is not the most relatable character in the world, but the circles Doctor Strange can, and does, move in make for some fantastic stories. Treat him as a normal superhero, then meh. Make use of all the possibilities his abilities and personality allow,...

A new Pokemon series is in early development at Netflix, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
As the project is still in its early days, no details are available about the plot. However, sources say that Joe Henderson is attached to write and executive produce. Henderson currently serves as co-showrunner and executive producer on the popular Netflix series “Lucifer,” which is preparing to air its sixth and final season at the streamer.
Sources also say that the project would be a live-action series akin to the “Detective Pikachu” film starring Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith that was released in 2019.
Reps for Netflix and Henderson did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.

So now it’s the turn of The Cat for her own Anniversary Special, hot on the heels of several other DC characters. Catwoman, when she first appeared way back in 1940, was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane and known simply as The Cat. The Cat was a cat burglar, appropriately enough, and was a femme fatale love interest for Batman, in the spirit of the film noir movies of the day. Finger and Kane chose a cat because they thought it a natural enemy of bats and, speaking as a cat lover I can corroborate this, because cats can be cool, aloof, and little gits (I’m paraphrasing a little there). Originally just a villain, she has changed a lot down the years, both in looks, history, and temperament, and has become something of an iconic character through good writing and clever use.

The God of Lies is officially heading to the small screen, but what might his comics tell us about the forthcoming series?
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
Contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a villain problem almost since it was first conceived, and this problem can be articulated thus: No villain it has produced is as sophisticated as Loki. As played by Tom Hiddleston, Loki is evil enough to root against, but enough of an underdog to root for. We love to hate him as much as we hate to love him. Apt stuff, for a character who thrives on contradiction and uncertainty.
Loki may have faced a rather ignominious and final-looking death on-screen during Avengers: Infinity War, but let’s face it: it’s not like Marvel to waste good IP. After a long rumor cycle, it...
