Rana Zand and Mariam Rastegar have joined Range Media Partners’ digital department as managers, having come over from Uncmmn, a subsidiary of MacRo.
Zand and Rastegar will help build out the talent management firm’s expanding digital creator business, focusing on diverse voices, while also supporting the Range Media roster across YouTube, Instagram and other digital platforms. At Uncmmn, Zand served as a partner and Rastegar as a senior talent manager who spearheaded digital strategy and development for digitally native talent and traditional clients.
Range Media’s clients span industries — film, television, music, sports, tech, literature, activism — and the company is designed to support talent and scale their portfolio companies.
Before Uncmmn, Zand, who started out in the WME mailroom, worked at Authentic for four years as head of digital talent and focused on growing the division, from hiring a team to expanding its digital roaster. She crossed-over digitally-native talent to traditional platforms,...

Authentic Talent & Literary Management is ramping up its digital team, adding a trio of executive-level hires as it looks to bolster the positioning of the management and production company’s roster of writers, producers, directors and talent with brands to create content.
The move to add Amron Lopez, Victoria Bachan and Brian Sokolik comes after Authentic struck a partnership agreement with indie studio Propagate Content with a focus on developing and producing scripted drama for network, premium cable and streaming services, as well as non-scripted TV series. Under terms of that deal, unveiled last month, Ben Silverman and Howard T Owens’ Propagate will finance the slate, which will be overseen by Authentic’s new head of production Galt Niederhoffer.
The newly hired trio have joined the digital division at Authentic established by former Wme and Big Frame exec Rana Zand, who oversees the division and facilitates digital and social media opportunities for Authentic’s roster.

Across 13 years, talent agency Authentic has built up a broad roster of clients across the film, TV, theater, and literary industries. Now, with its latest hire, Authentic is increasing the scope of its digital media operation as well. Rana Zand, a former Big Frame employee who represents online video stars like Jenn McAllister, has joined Authentic as its Head of Digital Talent.
Zand will bring her clients along with her as part of her move to Authentic. McAllister, a 20-year-old influencer with several major projects under her belt, is the most recognizable name on Zand’s roster, but the experienced manager also works with creators like the Vagabrothers and Orion Carloto.
As digital creators become increasingly eager to expand their careers across the Internet and beyond, and as advertisers in turn show interest in reaching those creators’ audiences, the number of talent agencies serving the online video industry has increased.

Many of the online video stars who are landing film, TV, and book deals work closely with Larry Shapiro, a talent manager who previously served as an agent for the CAA. After joining the team at Fullscreen, Shapiro moved to AwesomenessTV's Big Frame in October 2014. Now, Shapiro is once again changing his job title. He will part ways with Big Frame, according to a report from TheVideoInk.
Instead of moving on to a separate company, Shapiro will "return to his roots as a producer" through three as-of-yet unannounced projects, two for TV and one for film. In addition, he will continue to work with AwesomenessTV on Shovel Buddies, a recently-announced film based on a script from Hollywood's Black List. Shapiro and AwesomenessTV are expected to cast digital stars in the film's lead roles.
At Big Frame, Shapiro and his team (which included fellow agents Rana Zand and Andrew Graham) have...

Chris James, who has amassed 64,000 subscribers and more than two million views in his first 18 months on YouTube, doesn't have a typical origin story. He didn't start as a kid in his bedroom, and never recapped his day while pointing a camera in his face. Instead, the 22-year-old began to release magic videos on YouTube after feeling dissatisfaction with his 9-5 job. After hitting it big with a pair of viral videos, Chris is now looking to use YouTube to jump start his magic career, and in order to accomplish that goal, he has turned to Big Frame, the YouTube network and talent management company owned by AwesomenessTV.
Thanks to his partnership with Big Frame, James is working with Andrew Graham, a manager who moved to the company (along with colleagues Larry Shapiro and Rana Zand) from Fullscreen in October 2014. James is far from Graham's only client, but he is...

A pair of popular YouTubers are set to make their feature film debut. Lauren Elizabeth (aka LoveLaurenElizabeth) and Jenn McAllister (aka JennXPenn) are set to star in Bad Night, a film produced by Grb Entertainment.
Bad Night, which was announced at Playlist Live, will be the first film from Grb, which is best known for producing reality TV shows like A&E's Intervention. The project will star McAllister and Elizabeth as a pair of high school students who get lost during a class field trip. That plot summary, with its school-based shenanigans, resembles Cameron Dallas vehicle Expelled, another film led by an online video star.
The similarities between Bad Night and Expelled run a lot deeper than their respective plots. Expelled brought partners from the AwesomenessTV multi-channel network to the big screen, and both Elizabeth and McAllister are represented by Big Frame, the talent management company owned by AwesomenessTV. Two of Big Frame's employees,...
