Selena Gomez is back with a new single, “Love On,” her first release of 2024.
Opening with a dreamy chord progression and fuzzy samples of spoken French, “Love On” bursts open as a feel-good track “inspired by all the time Selena spent in Paris last year,” according to its press release. Musically, the song embraces the disco revival sound employed by Gomez’s peers like Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus, placing vocal hooks over a steady beat colored by a funky bassline.
The single also arrives with a music video by French director Greg Ohrel, depicting Gomez have a relaxing, romantic time in a beautiful seaside setting. With lovers embracing all around, Gomez dons a handful of fun outfits and dances alongside a crew of ballerinas. Watch the video below.
“Love On” is Gomez’s first release since last year’s “Single Soon,” a track produced by benny blanco and Cashmere Cat.

Selena Gomez has revealed her new single, “Single Soon.” Watch its accompanying music video below.
Produced by hitmakers benny blanco and Cashmere Cat, the track is meant to hold over fans while she continues to work on the upcoming follow-up to her 2020 album, Rare. “Y’all have been asking for new music for a while,” Gomez wrote in a social media statement. “Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.”
With a driving beat augmented by an ’80s-esque bed of synths, “Single Soon” really is a going-out anthem. Ditching the past and picking out the best outfit for the open possibilities of the future, Gomez sings that, though she can be “high maintenance,” she’s worthy of love, even if she’s in no hurry to find it.

The cast of Marvel‘s Thunderbolts is ready to welcome Minari and Nope star Steven Yeun to the fold! According to Deadline, the Oscar-nominated actor is joining Thunderbolts for a critical role. While the details of Yeun’s character remain a mystery, he could appear in multiple future projects. If I had to guess who Yeun is playing, my money would be on Nova or Sentry. I’m stabbing in the dark, so don’t take my word on it. It’s just a gut feeling I have.

It’s a Spring Saturday and somewhere deep in Philadelphia, five twentysomethings are huddled in a small apartment, each hunched over a computer. Since the release of her 2014 Ep Room 93, Halsey has specialized in cinematic pop anthems and alternative R&B cuts, all anchored in her sweet but biting lilt and vivid coming of age anecdotes. Her latest single, “Nightmare” — produced by frequent collaborators Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat — signals a noteworthy creative shift. Instead of the dark pop of her debut, Badlands, or the electro-pop-r&B hybrid of Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, “Nightmare” is a clear nod to Halsey’s emo roots.

Camila Cabello's solo music career officially has begun. Although the songstress recorded "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, she was still part of Fifth Harmony. But now her first solo single in the wake of leaving the girl group is here, and that means she's a solo artist. The song leaked in full, so now fans can hear what a solo career from Camila might be like. Over the last few months, we’ve heard a number of high profile collaborations come out of Cashmere Cat‘s studio. The Norwegian producer has been hard at work on his debut studio album Wild Love, and already we’ve heard the title track with The Weeknd, as well as his Selena Gomez pair up on “Trust Nobody.” Now he’s back with a new offering with 2 Chainz, Tory Lanez and Starrah titled “Throw Myself A Party.”
The track arrives as a hip hop influenced dance tune, led by varied vocal deliveries from the song’s numerous collaborators that range from rapped verses to sung choruses. Cashmere Cat starts the song off with a delicate synthesizer melody before introducing booming 808 beats and a flowing string section, bringing an upbeat vibe to the table that matches the lyrical content.

Cashmere Cat‘s forthcoming album Wild Love is one that we’ve been looking forward to with excited anticipation. The Norwegian producer has already unveiled some tantalizing teasers from the LP so far, with songs like “Trust Nobody” featuring Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez, and the title track with The Weeknd. Now, we have another high profile collaboration to savor over as a second Tory Lanez team up that also includes 2 Chainz and Starrah hits the internet.
“Throw Myself A Party” opens with a deceptively serene melody shortly joined by some heavily auto-tuned vocals that provide the song’s party friendly narrative. Taking influence from dance leaning hip hop, Cashmere Cat crafts a forward thinking trap backdrop behind the three vocal collaborators, delivering a catchy single with an upbeat, accessible production.
Cashmere Cat‘s latest offering will definitely have a wide appeal with its club oriented sound and indulgent lyrical themes.

If you haven’t already figured out that 2017 is going to be The Weeknd’s year, his new tour announcement might do a good job in letting you know. The “Starboy” star has announced the first leg of his massive “Starboy: Legend of the Fall” world tour that is set to kick off in Vancouver at the end of April.
Touted as “Phase One,” the first leg will span across North America, hitting various cities in the United States and Canada until wrapping up the run in Cincinnati on June 9th. There’s not many places The Weeknd doesn’t step foot in during this tour, so the second leg will most likely take place overseas when it gets scheduled for the summer or fall. Either way, given its dramatic and intriguing tour title, the production and theme of the shows are going to be quite the spectacle to watch.

After teaming up with The Weeknd on “Wild Love” at the beginning of last month, Cashmere Cat is back with another high profile joint effort, this time joining forces with former Zedd collaborator Selena Gomez and rapper Tory Lanez on a new single. The new song ranks among his most accessible credits like his work with Britney Spears and Ariana Grande, as he and Gomez offer up a radio friendly dance tune titled “Trust Nobody.”
The track kicks off with tropical chords and Selena Gomez’s distinctive voice as she spins a tale of mistrust and attraction. Light percussive touches keep a solid but restrained groove running beneath the production, affording a stripped down quality to the music. Tory Lanez delivers a hip hop verse in the second half of the song, cementing it as a radio friendly romp with plenty of potential to climb the charts.

It’s been a pretty explosive week in music as Daft Punk brought a three year silence to an end with the delivery of their new collaboration with The Weeknd on “Starboy.” While the song itself has garnered mixed reception from fans and critics alike, it’s also helped to establish The Weeknd as a prime vocalist in electronic music. Having previously worked with Disclosure and with a Cashmere Cat collab to his name, the Canadian R&B singer is quickly becoming a go to choice for dance music producers.
Now that “Starboy” has been released, naturally the question on everyone’s mind is who will The Weeknd pair up with next? We’re crossing our fingers that he’ll take deadmau5 up on his offer to collaborate. Edm’s favorite rodent had taken to Twitter back in May to share an unreleased tune, while challenging The Weeknd to handle vocal duties for the track.

Earlier in the month, Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat took to Instagram to tease an upcoming collaboration with pop vocalist The Weeknd, sharing an image of the two artists hitting the studio. Fans were understandably excited by the prospect of a mutual single featuring both talents, and now it appears we may have our first taste of their work together. The Weeknd posted a preview on social media of an upcoming song that some have speculated is the Cashmere Cat produced single.
The teaser clip features a blank video and a cat emoji as its only clue, with a short sample featuring twisting falsetto vocals juxtaposed over a deep bassline.

In the three years since Daft Punk dropped their most recent album, Random Access Memories to great acclaim, fans have been relatively left in the dark waiting for the iconic robo duo to release some new music. Now, we have our first clue about their future efforts as it comes to light that they have an upcoming collaboration with The Weeknd.
Wendy Goldstein, executive VP and head of Urban A&R with Republic Records, inadvertently broke the news during an interview with Billboard when fielding the question of who she would be most excited to work with. She then revealed that the three artists are scheduled to hit the studio together in the very near future.

The Weeknd’s moody style seems particularly well suited for a dance music crossover, and it will be interesting to hear the studio magic he’s been working up with Cashmere Cat. Of course, there’s not much more information to go off at this point about the collaboration, but needless to say it’s going to be huge.

Barack and Michelle Obama were tearing it up with their epic speeches at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia earlier this week, and now, their oldest daughter Malia Obama is turning up with her pals at Lollapalooza in her hometown of Chicago. The 18-year-old high school graduate proved that just because she lives in the White House and has the most famous parents in the world, doesn't mean she can't go out and have some fun—even if her fun also includes secret service (who were adorably dressed in some casual khakis and plaid shirts, Lol). A few fellow Lollapalooza partygoers who also happened to be at the Cashmere Cat set caught a few photos and even a brief video (read: extremely shaky)...

Crssd Festival has announced the lineup for the second half of its bi-annual event, following up on the spring chapter from earlier this year. Though a relatively new festival, Crssd has quickly established itself as a hotbed for house and techno, and the lineup for its fall edition shows no signs of slowing down.
Crssd has secured some impressive headliners for their second event in 2016, grabbing up DJs like Zhu, Thomas Jack, Miike Snow, Bonobo, Maya Jane Coles, and Claptone. The supporting cast of performers is equally enticing, with major talent like Cashmere Cat, Malaa, Destructo, AC Slater, Sam Feldt and Bakermat scheduled to play.
The two day festival is set to go down this fall on October 1 and 2, returning to Waterfront Park in San Diego. In addition to the musical festivities, Crssd will again host a number of beer and food vendors.

Flume‘s done a respectable job of holding the short attention spans of electronic music fans so far in 2016. The Australian DJ/producer has allowed songs from his long-awaited LP Skin to trickle out at just a slow enough pace to keep us wanting more, and by announcing the supporting talent for his North American tour he’s done more of the same.
Among the artists accompanying Flume on the dates of his North American tour are Alunageorge, Cashmere Cat, Hermitude, Mr. Carmack and TOKiMONSTA. Festival season is only just now kicking off, but those who attended either of the Holy Ship! sailings in the early months of the year got to see some of electronic music’s biggest names perform in a similar setting. In particular, Porter Robinson performed a memorable set – and one SoundCloud user found a recording and uploaded it to their account.
The user, whose display name is “St3ve_Oh,” appears to have uncovered an Electric Area broadcast of Robinson’s performance. Placid dreamscapes like Purity Ring’s “Begin Again” meet with incendiary bass drops from tracks like GTA’s “Red Lips,” making for the cerebral sort of aural journey you would expect from such a celebrated DJ.

If you’ve found yourself growing tired of what passes for a festival lineup in recent years, Lightning in a Bottle makes for a welcome departure from the live music event status quo. Between a carefully curated audiovisual experience and an unparalleled community aspect, the event is ideal for anyone looking to venture off the beaten path – and it just released the kind of lineup that proves it.
While artists like Mija, Cashmere Cat and Chet Faker stand out as the more recognizable ones on Lightning in a Bottle’s roster, the true appeal of the festival lies in its more obscure artists – like Polish Ambassador, Autograf or G Jones. For our money, though, The Woogie stage is where it’s at; DJ/producers like Guy Gerber, Lee Burridge and Josh Wink are more than qualified to fill the house and techno quota of any party.

Nobody holds down the market for tropical house remixes of classic songs quite like Kygo. The Norwegian DJ/producer’s particular brand of feel-good summer music has lent itself quite well to the work of artists like Marvin Gaye and Blackstreet, and his remix of A-Ha’s ’80s hit “Take On Me” further proves the versatility of his style.
Kygo’s trademark woodwind and xylophone-inspired synths set the relaxed tone for the remix, which borrows little more than the vocal top line of the original. While it in no way betrays his usual style, Kygo’s “Take On Me” remix doesn’t stand out as his strongest work, either, as its simplistic nature seems to lack the ear worm quality present in many of his other productions.
A-Ha’s members also famously hailed from Norway, which perhaps provided Kygo further reason to remix that track in particular. However, we’d...

This is why producer Cashmere Cat is a behind-the-scenes superstar, and confirms why Stargate is already there. Ty Dolla $ign keeps his cat in a cage, never letting the rhymes of "Drop That Kitty" trump the stupid, fun, and stupid-fun spirit. Charli's brat-bark is evened out by Tinashe's R&B cool. The result is a sexy and obnoxious fuel for party fire. "Drop That Kitty" plays during the prom of your nightmares/dreams and likely to land on the tracklist for "Free Tc," Ty$'s next album, due in September.
