Max Bostock was born in 1927 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to Carla Schabesch and Arthur Bostock. He had a career in the music and television industries, ending his professional career as the chief executive of Channel 10 Australia. Whilst at TVW Western Australia, Bostock's career included:

He passed away on 30 October 2018, and was cremated on 9 November 2018 at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park (Western Australia, Australia). He is survived by spouse Betty; children Gary, Ross, Terry and Rod; daughters-in-law Josie, May and Sue; grandchildren Jai, James, Ebony, Kane, James, Alisha, Madison and Max; and great grandchildren Riley, Stella, Aiden, Ava, Kayla, Isabella and Rocky.
